947100 tn?1245793837 I would recommend looking into Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy... it's where you get your hormones tested via a saliva test and based on the results, a compounding pharmacy makes up a specific cream to balance the hormones you're low in. Suzanne Somers has a really good book called "Ageless" that tells all about it... and lists doctors who do the therapy that you can go to. I'm pursuing this right now...and I can't wait to start it!
792410 tn?1270315500 Has anyone read Suzanne Somers new book "Knockout?" I read it and wanted to find out what other ladies with OvCa think of it? It was very provocative and really scared me. Any feed back would be very much appreciated because in the two years I have had OvCa I have had no success at all with chemotherapy or hormonal therapy so I feel as though I really would have very little to lose if I were to try alternative cancer treatment.
Avatar f tn They help keep up energy levels, metabolism, good sleep, and disease prevention. I have Suzanne Somers book and it is very interesting. Do you know anyone in the Scottsdale area that does the MRI guided procedure? Mayo Clinic offers it but only in Florida.

Avatar f tn and are made out of horse urine, sounds yummy huh? not! I refer people to Suzanne Somers books, rent them from the library for free. It will change your life. Gave me hope and now a lifeplan. good luck NOTALONE! call on me anytime.
Avatar n tn The reason you need HRT after a hysterectomy is to avoid long term issues such as osteoporosis (sp), cardiac design, thinning skin, eye degeneration, and brain function declination. There are some that believe that by keeping your hormones balanced you may also avoid certain types of cancer. I recommend visitinga site called hystersisters that has a WHOLE lot of info on HRT. The fact that he is removing you suddenly instead of gradually is bad practice. I would go to a different Dr.
Avatar f tn BREAKTHROUGH. Be positive and have a strong faith that you'll get through it. Best of luck to you!
1244639 tn?1270984166 I'm sure you've hearrd of Suzanne Somer's book 'Sexy for life'. In it there are many references to what causes the interests you've listed. Toxins, and hormone imbalances. What shocks me is our physicians learn very little about how female hormone imbalances are at the root of most diseases. Last year I picked up a book written by a female autoimmune/immunobiologist. sorry I forgot her name, but there are not many that write on or specialize in both areas.
Avatar f tn Hi, I, too had a complete hysterectomy and I have gained 30 pounds. I have joined Curves and am enjoying it. Before the surgery I was an athletic and toned gal. I understand the no energy. Comes with the lack of hormones from surgery. I have read some really great books on "Surgical Menopause", one being "The Wisdom of Menopause" by Dr. Christiane Northrup and "Ageless" by Suzanne Somers.
Avatar n tn You can have children when you have PCOS. You have imbalanced hormones, estrogen levels are too high and Progesterone levels too low. There's a book by Susan Somers Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness [Paperback] http://www.amazon.com/Breakthrough-Eight-Wellness-Suzanne-Somers/dp/1400053285/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1298480300&sr=8-1 Read about it and it tells you what you can do naturally to balance your hormones.
Avatar n tn I have tried several anti inflammatory medications, ibuprofen, arthritis strength tylenol, naprosyn to name a few, and nothing seems to alleviate my discomfort. A friend suggested I try using progesterone cream ( natural Yam) and I immediately felt relief of my joint pain. Is joint pain an actual symptom of menopause? Is progesterone cream safe to use? The comfort I gain from using the cream seems to wear off toward the end of the day. Can I use it twice a day?
Avatar f tn Hi I was too labeled with PCOS. I'm currently seeing a holistic MD who also told me that my estorgen and testo are high and my progesterone level is too low causing me to have heavy clotting bleeding and I'm not ovulating. But after a year of homeopathic, my estorgen is normal and now we're working on the other two. He recommended me to lose weight as well...I need to lose about 40-50 pounds to be my ideal BMI weight. I agree with StephRox13 of the food you eat.
Avatar f tn Hormone therapy is really not reccomended after batteling cancer,,,ask your Dr his opinion of a herbal called Black Kosch it is known to be good for hot flashes do NOT take it without his permission, I have no idea if it is safe for you or not.
Avatar n tn ) it really works to even out the digestive process and also to keep weight off or even burn it faster :) just some advice I learned from a book :) Good luck to you and congrats on day 12!! keep posting..
Avatar f tn Northrup, Robin McGraw and Suzanne Somers. They were extremely helpful. I asked my doctor about natural progesterone cream and she didn't have a clue what I was talking about and tried to find it in her pharmaceutical book! I am going to have to get her some more info before she is able to prescribe me some. I am in Canada - our medical system is NOT to be envied. It ***** pretty badly. I'm sorry you had to have a hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn d be very careful following Suzanne Somers advice. She makes a lot of claims in that book, and hardly any of her 'remedies' have been approved by the FDA. She also uses human growth hormone, which is supposedly a fountain of youth of sorts..but what she doesn't explain is that if you have any cancer cells in your body, this HGH will make them grow rapidly.
Avatar m tn BREAKTHROUGH. But more importantly he stressed about my diet to limit/cut out the starchy carbs/sugars. He found out that my hormone levels were totally off, my body was producing too much testosterone and estrogen. And my progesterone was very low. Whenever I had my cycle, my prog levels were supposed to be higher and my estrogen was supposed to be lower…they never crossed paths for me to ovulate. Technically they were “chasing” themselves for years.
Avatar f tn I use an estrogen patch, testosterone and progestorone cream. I first read Suzanne Summers book on bioidentical hormones. It was very helpful.
Avatar f tn by Suzanne Somers....and whatever you do, do NOT take any of that synthetic **** they call replacement hormones....they are ****, plain and simple i use bioidentical hormones, cream formula, mixed and formulated by a local compounding pharmacy (can't just pick em up at a walgreens because they're formulated specifically to your body's needs)....they have turned my life around completely....even with family history of breast cancer, you CAN use bioidentical hormones....
1504962 tn?1292507093 I tried clomid twice and it didn't work for me. I did insemenation twice too and it didn't work. I'm currently seeing a holistic MD and I'm taking the holistic route because my hormones are really off balanced and I didn't want to go back on the pill per suggested by my conventional MD. It beats the purpose of getting pregnant?!?. However, my friend did clomid and she got pregnant and another freind of mine did both clomid and insemenation and got pregnant.
Avatar m tn I partially disagree with DR. Kokil on this one. I suspect he is correct about the "runner's knee," but most medical persons (and people in general) over look some important soft tissue issues. Number one being uneven muscle/soft tissue development or rehab. Males tend to have more knee problems than females, and one reason is something I like to call the "Suzanne Somers Thigh Master exercise.
Avatar f tn Hello I'm new here, but not new to hypothyroidism. It took me six doctors to get one who would treat me and my lab results I've been with her for three years, however, I don't believe she is knowledgeable enough to continue - esp since I am not feeling well. On Thursday, I have my first appointment with a doctor recommended and discussed at length in Suzanne Somers' books. I am excited.. but want to be as prepared as possible.
Avatar n tn CALL ME!!!!!!! WE HAVE TO WARN WOMEN ABOUT THIS! Just some thoughts.....
Avatar f tn On September 29, 2009 I had a complete hystorectomy with a 10lb adnexal mass removed at MD Anderson. An intestinal type cancer of low malignant potential was found. I am waiting to be sceduled for an MRI & Colonoscopy. After my surgery I was prescribed Effexor for my mood swings and hot flashes. The doctor has continued to increase the dosage up to the highest = 150 mg per day. All it has done for me is turn me into a zombie.
