Hormone cream breast cancer

Common Questions and Answers about Hormone cream breast cancer

hormone

Avatar f tn Took new saliva test and went to new hormone specialist. She changed me to cream (bio-identical also) plus added 4 adrenal food supplements. I have taken the same blood pressure med for 17 years and kept my levels normal. After using the hormone cream and adrenal supplements for three weeks, my blood pressure soared. My doctor took me off the supplements, but my blood pressure was still dangerously high. She doubled my present BP med plus added another med before it would come back down.
Avatar f tn The Women's Health Initiative showed that combined HRT as Prempro (conjugated estrogen plus progestin formulation medroxyprogesterone acetate) increased the risk of breast cancer. Estrogen taken without a progestin (Premarin) did not increase risk of breast cancer. But you are correct that a progestin or progesterone needs to be taken with estrogen to protect the uterine lining from proliferation and risk of hyperplasia or cancer.
Avatar f tn Hello, Yam is supposed to be used for vaginal dryness but Hormone-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids may become aggravated by using this herbal drug and hence you should not use it without medical guidance. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar n tn Kind of concerned as breast cancer runs in my family and not sure about using this cream. Has anyone tried anything more natural?
Avatar f tn Thanks for sharing your story.
Avatar f tn About ten or so years before my diagnosis of breast cancer, I had a similar experienced to yours when my primary care physician decided to prescribe some weight loss pills that must have caused a hormone imbalance. At the same time, I had some abnormal findings in my mammograms that my doctors were watching. My personal suspicion is that in my case it was related, but my doctors have never told me so and I am not medically trained.
Avatar f tn I'll try to be brief. Age 49, perimenopausal and losing hair. Hair replacement specialist sent me to a "medispa" for hormone balancing by a physician. My hormone blood levels were tested mid-cycle. He determined that my hormone levels were "normal" but not "optimal". In the course of this workup, he ordered copies of all my old breast exams, PAP's and bloodwork.
Avatar n tn Estrogen doesn't cause breast cancer but it does feed it. If estrogen was the cause of breast cancer more young women would be being diagnosed with it when their estrogen levels are at their highest. Most diagnosis are made in post menopausal woman. There is one theory of thought that it may be estrone that really feeds breast cancer. Estrone is what our fat cells produce after menopause. Estradiol is what our ovaries made in our 20's and 30's.
730826 tn?1317943334 Definitely mention it to your doctor - get them to make sure that it is pregnancy related or hormone related. I definitely do not want to scare you, but there is a rare form of breast cancer that does cause this... It is really rare, so much that many doctors don't know about it. I don't want you to freak out, but just get checked out.
492898 tn?1222243598 Laboratory tests are performed after surgery or biopsy to determine if the breast cancer cells are hormone receptor positive. Hormone receptor positive breast cancer is depended on estrogen hormone for multiplication and growth and it is rational to block the hormones on which the tumor cells are feeding. Contrary to many people’s belief; hormonal therapy is a more effective form of breast caner adjuvant therapy compared to chemotherapy.

Avatar f tn I have asked my oncologist these questions and he just says that taking the AI's is the best proven way to try to stop the recurrence of breast cancer. What I am finding is that the "older" doctors have been doing it this way for 20+ years and are not willing to change. When I asked him to check my hormone levels - he said that was "garbage in garbage out" since hormone levels vary there is no reason to check them.
Avatar f tn Mastitis can also lead to nipple discharge. Duct ectasia, intraductal papilloma, breast cancer are few other possibilities. A complete clinical examination and investigations like mammogram and/or ultrasound may help in determining the cause of your symptoms. Do write to me again. Take care and kind regards!
Avatar f tn I would think Chemo would be the first treatment since there was node involvement, probably followed by Radiation and possibly some Hormone Therapy IF the cancer proves to be ER/PR positive. Good luck with the re-excision......
Avatar f tn t think that your symptoms are alarming, but since you have just noticed changes in your nipple, and pain under your breasts,I would advise you to see your Oncologist or a Breast Specialist for a breast exam due to the fact that you had breast cancer in the past and you should be extra vigilant when something doesn't appear normal to you. All the best ...
Avatar n tn Form what you posted, it seems that your mother is in the early stage of breast cancer. She will benefit from either chemotherapy or hormonal therapy. She can undergo chemotherapy then hormonal therapy after she is done with her chemotherapy. Her hormone receptor status is positive. A positive hormonal status has better prognosis compared to those with negative hormone receptor status.
Avatar f tn There seems to be no solution for hot flashes for breast cancer patients. What do you think about a 48 yr old cured breast cancer patient taking bioiidentical hormones? Thank you.
