hormone

Avatar n tn Hi to cure my acne and hair growth my dermatologist recommends to use a hormone pill (sponalactaid i think?) to reduce my high testoterone level. My mother had breast cancer because of hormone pills so I refuse to take it. Instead, I researched ways to lower testosterone "naturally" and came across an herbal supplement called Macafem which claims to affect the pituatry gland to make the hormones produced more "balanced" Anyone heard of this and is this true?
Avatar f tn Your vagina also has a specific Ph level which can be easily thrown off balance allowing an environment for bad bacteria to develop which can lead to infection and strong odor. If you suffer from strong odor it might be your body telling you your unbalanced.
Avatar f tn This is something that happens when hormones are not in balance. Same with an irregular period. Prolactemia happens when we produce too much estrogen or if we have an issue with our pituitary gland. Sometimes a woman will have a harmless tumor in their pituitary gland. I had this years ago. Thyroid dysfunction is often present as well such as a too slow of a thyroid or being hypothyroid.
Avatar f tn Hi im 18 can my GP offer a hormone test as i feel i have a hormone balance or is this something you have to buy like a kit (i also have an under active thyroid)
Avatar n tn Hi, How are you? I would suggest you to try magnesium supplements. Magnesium is shown to be very effective in preventing migraine attacks. The other option is biofeedback therapy. Also have you been able to identify a trigger for your attacks? The best treatment for migraine is identification and avoidance of trigger. Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn s right for you. Testosterone (and most hormone replacement therapies) have a ton of side effects. One of the more serious is an increased risk of blood clots. Take it from me, someone who has had blood clots that went into my lungs and almost killed me, this is not a pleasant experience. I would definitely weigh the benefits vs. risk with this.
Avatar m tn Thanks ginger! I'm not trying to fix anything tho, I'm just trying to support his overall health. Low testosterone is directly related to prostate cancer in us old guys. Its has many physiological benefits. I know from personal experience. Natural testosterone cream reduced my blood sugar, triglyceride and cholesterol levels to a normal range. My depression lifted and my enegry levels increased. When testosterone is converted to DHT and estrogen it can be problematic.
Avatar f tn Women who have a healthy hormone balance tend to enjoy their lives the most. Hormone fluctuations can result in several problems such as perimenopausal difficulties, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, fibroids, heart disease, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. Usually, women don’t completely meet what their bodies need—food and exercise to reduce stress and feel better. Diet, nutrition, and workout are some of the common lifestyle changes that can help women restore hormone balance.
Avatar f tn My gyno said its not likely-my body would go back to its normal hormone balance which in my case neevr caused hairloss before. Unless my hormones have changed since I turned 30? What type of hormone imbalance are there and does imbalance always show up on tests? 3. Is fluocinonice topical solution safe? Can it make TE worse or cause more hair to fall out? 4. Avatar f tn By nature, birth control works by changing the hormone balance in your body. I believe in most cases it makes your body think you're pregnant so that you won't get pregnant. It's probably this change in hormone balance that's causing this. There are 2 possibilities: it could be that over time your body will adjust & you won't feel so sexually charged. Some women have a drop in their desire when on the pill. The other possibility is you could ask your Dr.
Avatar f tn Because you had a hysterectomy, the usual natural approach is more complex. I'd advise seeing a naturopath. The usual approach would be to use a trial and error approach with the great many herbs and "natural" hormones that are derived from the Mexican Wild Yam that help to balance hormones, but again, since you've had a hysterectomy, you might want to see a naturopath who knows more about what influence that has on the matter.
Avatar f tn He has recently been diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency. His MRI revealed an 8mm pineal cyst and a 5mm pars intermedia cyst interposed between the anterior and posterior pituitary tissue. He also has a lot of fatigue and gets frequent headaches/nausea. He will be starting growth hormone but we've been told that he cannot start the hormones until he sees the neurosurgeon (which is in a couple of weeks). Do you think the cysts may have caused his growth failure?
Avatar m tn For about 9 months now I have been struggling with my balance it started last dec when I was trying to walk across a parking lot and it felt like I was on a moving sidewalk or slippery but it wasn't the feeling as come and gone until July when it changed to feeling like I was trying to walk on a small row boat that was in a river when I close my eyes and try to stand on one foot I start to fall over.
727136 tn?1231182664 I do agree with Cherie that you need to have your hormone levels checked. Sometimes estrogen out of balance with the testosterone can cause cystic acne. Maybe an increase in estrogen preferably estradiol. I am so sorry you have had such a hard time. I hope things get better soon.
Avatar f tn If you did want to still have children, there are things you can do to improve your hormone balance which is usually the number one reason why women have trouble at our age. One very effective thing is acupuncture. It's not cheap but in just a few months can return your hormone balance to where it should be. It can help alleviate the symptoms of perimenopause even if you didn't want to have kids. There are lots of supplements that can help with hormone balance, too.
Avatar f tn I would go see a doctor. They're able to help regulate your period and balance your hormone levels.
Avatar m tn It does offer a few solutions but is loaded with a lot of obvious situations that I think everyone is familiar with and makes it hard to find the few solutions. However, I would like to suggest people POST ONLY WHAT HAS WORKED for them to reduce/eliminate diarrhea for those taking any of the SSRI's. Please go into details about THE SOLUTON. OK to list WHAT HAS NOT worked as well.
Avatar n tn Hi, Are you taking medication for hyperthyroidism (excess thyroid hormone) or hypothyroidism (lack of thyroid hormone). Please elaborate on the exact medication that you are taking. This could just be an allergic reaction to the particular brand of medicine that you are using. You can discuss it with your doctor and go for a different brand.
Avatar f tn On September 29, 2009 I had a complete hystorectomy with a 10lb adnexal mass removed at MD Anderson. An intestinal type cancer of low malignant potential was found. I am waiting to be sceduled for an MRI & Colonoscopy. After my surgery I was prescribed Effexor for my mood swings and hot flashes. The doctor has continued to increase the dosage up to the highest = 150 mg per day. All it has done for me is turn me into a zombie.
