Hormone balance one ovary

Common Questions and Answers about Hormone balance one ovary

hormone

Avatar f tn Hi, Hot flashes are because of hormonal imbalance, but this should not result after removal of one ovary and at such a young age. The pain can be because of post-operative adhesions, infection, ovarian cysts etc. An ultrasound scan may be necessary to make a diagnosis. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Your hormones may be out of balance for a little bit (everyone is different on that one) but you should get a monthly period. Your remaining ovary will also produce the hormones you need. Not sure about your #4 question. You will have the same hormones you always did, including testosterone but it won't increase, if that's what you meant.

Avatar f tn I am having some gynae issues (2nd episode - last was a year ago) - periods suddenly stopped out of the blue, bloating, pelvic pain, especially in the right ovary area and causing mild sciatica and feeling slightly nauseous and damp forehead. I have a green discharge, non-odorous, no bleeding, no itching, urinary urgency (kind of normal for me but worse than normal - no pain when I pee).
Avatar f tn m down to the one ovary and terrified if I get pregnant again the cysts could destroy my last ovary but if I freeze my eggs as backup the hormone therapy could also destroy my ovary. Anyone have any experience with this?

Avatar f tn I was recovering very well until 2 days ago I experienced a stabbing pain in my left ovary, especially in the mornings. Yesterday I started taking hormone treatment that will cause an artificial menopause for 4 months. I feel out of balance and anxious. Is this common? I have a 3-hour flight tonight and I am starting to feel worried.
Avatar n tn I just had a partial hysterectomy 4 weeks ago and now only have one ovary. They told me that it could take up to a few months for the remaining ovary to kick in and take over and that it is entirely possible that I would have menopausal symptoms. I have insomnia, feel depressed, can't concentrate, am crabby as *(&% and am having hot flashes (I am also 45 and did have the odd flash before this though). I just don't feel like myself either. I'm not sure wat to do.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 31 years old. Lost my left ovary last February due to ovarian torsion out of the blue because of a dermoid cyst. Found the same size dermoid cyst on the right ovary and had laparoscopic (spelling?) surgery on December 6th 2011 to remove cyst along with about 50% of the right ovary. I am now having shifts in emotions like bouts of sadness, then some anxiety. I am feeling very irritable and impatient.
Avatar m tn When I had plan b I had a big hormone imbalance too, and it lasted for a couple of weeks after my period came. After taking the morning after pill, periods after will still seem pretty odd as it can take your body a while to get back to its old self. Nothing you can do to speed up her recovery really, just relax and chill out. Nothing to stress over.
Avatar m tn I am sorry your doctor has not been very helpful and certainly not upfront. Hopefully, your other ovary will compensate for the one that was removed. But that does not always happen. If you do not conceive soon, you may want to see a fertility specialist or reproductive endocrinologist. Best of luck to you and I hope you are recovered and all is working fine soon!
Avatar f tn I think im having hormone issues but the blood test appears to be normal (have to chat my doctor more about the results though). Here is what has happened so far: August: Diagnosed with ovarian cyst October: Told to go off the pill (yasmin). Had been on it for about 3 years. November: Surgery to remove ovarian cyst, left ovary and tube. Anaemia. Did not have a period, due to come a week after surgery.
Avatar f tn s and my research so far shows that my other ovary should take over all the hormone making, etc. But I have had a huge change in my mood and my libido is virtually non existstant. This has been going on for almost 2 yrs now. Could this be from my other ovary not functioning correctly or birth control? I would love to have my old self back.
Avatar n tn I would maybe let them take the ovary with the cyst on and biopsy of the other one if they arent sure, if it turns out to be cancer you would need a second operation though. Oddly I have read that they prefer laparotomy over laparoscopy when dealing with cancer, so your case sounds a bit odd to me. Get a second opinion! I know it is very short notice for both you and the doctors, so bring all your scans and blood results with you.
1291534 tn?1288818691 Your other ovary will hopefully compensate for the loss or hormone. Usually it is not a problem. If you notice hot flashes or fail to get your period, report it to your gyn. You can take HRT if the hormones don't balance out. But, odds are with you that all will return to normal in couple of months. I hope you continue to recover quickly!
1208452 tn?1266336929 I,ve lost a bunch of weight recently not the right way but the lifes taking over stress way,if i balance outmyhormones or change my diet and exercise can they go away?do you think its somthing i am doing to myself.i hear genetics but my mom sister and grandmother dont have these problems!help me findsomthing to make this go awat, what do i do?i have had one or two in the past but nothing like this it is out of control!
Avatar f tn Once you have one ovary removed, the remaining one will always get the hormone and if functioning properly will always spit out an egg.
Avatar f tn I did hysterectomy with removing one ovary 8 month ago .I suffers from hot flashes and insomnia but a little better now .I tested FCH est and i surprised it is 119.Does it mean i am getting menopaused ?Do i need hormone treatment? What can i do to avoid skin aging ?
Avatar f tn I will try to make this short, I had a tubal reversal on one tube in Nov. ( I lost one tube due to an ectopic in 2005 but was able to go on and conceive daughter 6mths later) I also have an older son who's 8 now. Anyway, I had the reversal and an hsg in Jan. and was told my tube is open. My real Ques.
Avatar n tn Hi, Usually when a person has one ovary removed and one ovary left, after about 3 months the ovary that is remaining will take over and regulate periods as if you had two. I don't know how the yeast infection would be related to having an ovary removed, although there of course is an initial mis-regulation of hormones. As far as the irregular periods go, did you have any problems with that prior to having the ovary removed? I would definitely check with my doc.
Avatar n tn I went to surgury for the removal of ONE ovary due to a teratoma and ended up with one and a HALF removed. I want more children and this has been soooo hard to me. I had surgery 2 years ago and have been TTC for about 2 and a half. I still cry and I'm still not over it (even now that I'm writing to you I'm crying). Maybe cause I haven't been able to get pregnant. I really hope the best to you and if you need a friend I'm here. Good Luck!!
Avatar m tn Do you need hormone replacement after ovary removal in a 63 y.o. post-menopausal women?
