Avatar f tn Could all of this inflammation + weight gain + inability to lose weight+ insomnia + acne indicate an increase in cortisol and or a hormonal imbalance? I saw my doctor who is an internist and pediatrician and he ACTUALLY laughed in my face. I am seeing on the internet that seems to be the norm.
Avatar f tn Take fish oil. Its perfectly healthy to take while pregnant, in fact its good for you and baby. It also clears up your acne. It has worked wonders for me! I broke out like a teenager when I first got pregnant, then I started taking fish oil (capsules) and I have the real pregnancy glow!
Avatar n tn I am 25 (F) with a lot of acne problem on my face. i even did my hormonal test which hv shown normal results. i have tried everything else but nothing has help. i m getting married in 4 months. should i still consider hormonal treatment or go on accutane?
Avatar f tn Not all omega 6 oils are created equal. I don't know why you're taking evening primrose oil, you don't state what you're trying to accomplish. Some take it for female hormonal balance and some take it for depression. It is somewhat high in GLA, a very beneficial fat, though borage oil has more. But it is very effective for women with hormonal disruptions, so if you need it for that and it's working, then I wouldn't worry about the Omega 6 portion.
Avatar f tn I also supplement with 30mg zinc and 1 mg copper, plus 10,000IU vitamin A and 400IU vitamin D derived from fish oil (the fish oil part is really important, you do not want want synthetic vitamin A). You can research these vitamins more yourself and confer with your doctor, but acne sufferers often find these particular vitamins help a lot. The TSH doesn't mean much, really-- my TSH is around .05 as well.
6868372 tn?1385568674 A whole plant based diet with no added oil will lower the amount of extra oil in your system and thus less oil. Oily foods make acne worse. Read the Starch Solution by Dr. McDougall and it talks about a healthy diet and how it affects your skin, heart and many other things. One thing do not pick or scrub the acne. Be very gentle when washing the acne. Don't scrub with a washrag or other rough surface. Gently wash with clean hands. Picking leaves scars and doesn't expedite healing.
Avatar f tn Oh welcome to the club. Sorry my face so awful till 10 or 11 weeks that was unreal. I'm 34 and still having adult acne on top of hormonal acne. They can't give you too much stuff like meds for it right now. You gotta hold on and later it should get better. After I delivered my 2nd baby my face was awful again. Yeah ... hormonal craziness. But I use tea tree oil pads off of amazon to clean my face with. Very natural and it does help to reduce inflammation.
Avatar n tn s cyclic outbreaks, this could be due to hormonal changes in your body. Aside from hormonal changess during mentruation, the following have been found to make acne worse: oil-based makeup, suntan oil and hair products, stress, squeezing or picking at blemishes and hard scrubbing of the skin. It is important to clean your face everyday and avoid harsh chemicals. Over-the-counter acne medications may also help. There are plenty of people with the same situation you are in.
Avatar f tn It is probably hormonal. The swellings and acne you are describing are in your T-zone, a very common place for these kinds of skin conditions. If this is a chronic condition, your best bet is to see a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn I start taking this and it finally help with my terrible acne. I have acne in my back, face and chest. Some its really deep and leave marks everywhere. Go to a dermatologis, and try different treatments. Good luck!!!
Avatar f tn I read some of the tips on balancing the hormones, such as taking fish oil, drinking soy milk and to stay away from sweet, fat and oily food. I have changed my diet, run 5 miles everyday, drink 1 gallon of water everyday, take my multivitamin including fish oil and staying away from fatty food. BUT NOTHING IS FREAKING WORKING. My face looks really terrible now and I do not feel like going out ever again. Are there any alternation besides taken it out?
Avatar f tn Prick some fish oil capsules and apply over the skin, gentle massage, before going to sleep. Also take a couple after the meals. Make sure you use the good quality ones and are in no way allergic to fish. P.S The oil smells fishy but the smell disappears in a few minutes after the massage.
Avatar n tn to much skin oils being let out of the skin cause acne, to avoid that sometimes its best to stay away from foods that cause tyhe skin to release oil like fish, the omega3 does it. other people have dry flakey skin cause they dont get their bodies to produce enough oils, in that case just buy some omega3 pills at the pharmacy. taste like vanilla, pills kinda big need to be taken with food, but no side affects..
Avatar n tn And started to get this little red flakes somewhat looking like a acne or rash in my cheeks. Will this go away? What can i do to prevent it.
1549562 tn?1304004489 t use any kind of scrub or exfoliant and this type of acne is hormonal, simply wash with a mild face wash and use a water based moisturizer (I use Cetaphil for normal to oily skin) I don't have the same problem with my hair as it is growing like crazy and is super thick and soft, but a hot oil treatment will help with the dryness or (this is kinda gross) i have heard of women putting mayo on their hair to add oil and shine!
Avatar f tn Sorry - that's an hba1c.
617441 tn?1221176206 I have heard that fish oil can help children with ADHD. Has anyone one heard of it or used it? I don't want to put my son on medication I have seen what it does to him.
Avatar m tn Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet and a moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar f tn by means of counting the total number of acne lesions and also by rating acne severity on a standardized index. The results showed that tea tree oil gel was significantly more effective than placebo at reducing both the number of acne lesions and their severity. Niacinamide In a double-blind trial, 76 individuals with moderately severe acne were treated with either 4% niacinamide gel or 1% clindamycin gel (a standard antibiotic treatment).

Avatar n tn i have acne marks on my back , buttocks and forearms . i want to get rid of them .
Avatar f tn I too had that kind of allergic reaction, although I'm immune to fish allergy until I ate a Salmon last month & got acne after 5 hours, I thought it might be due to some poison in fish meat & I thought right because the fish that I brought I used it 3 time in 3 weeks & got acne, I then bought it from another location fresh Salmon & now I don't have any acne or any other allergic reaction.
564434 tn?1219978153 OTC lotions and creams work for few (like eucerin skin therapy body creme), prescription cremes work for some. Others use natural oils rubbed on (coconut oil) or ingested (flax seed oil or fish oil with omega 3's). Some try a combination of things like using a loofah to exfoliate during showers, a paticular lotion or oil that works for them, along with some change in diet like ingesting the appropriate amounts of fish oil or carrot juice. There seems to be a link to Vitamine A deficiency.
Avatar f tn about. However I was curious if this could also cause acne? I never was one to get acne on my face nor front side though I did on my rear as well as my back. Since my issue began I have noticed that I am getting alot of pimples on my face, neck, chest & shoulders. Could my other issue cause this? I am not on any medication nor have I changed soaps.
