my daughter was diagnosed with a 3mm vsd when she was born (she was born on due date). she has had scans from birth to 2 years. the hole was still there at 2 years. i have since had problems with my new dr's getting her another scan she was due one at 4 years and it never happened. she is now 6 and i am going to take her private. the doctor says the murmur is still there. she still turns blue if she gets cold and it is hard to control her body temp most of the time.
Having a past detachment increases your risk greatly of having another one in either eye. Intraocular surgery like cataract surgery also increases your risk in that eye. Have a "heart to heart" with your surgeon about the risks. If you need the cataract op to see, do it. I have done many such cases and have rarely had a problem. Also, have the retina checked. If there are any suspicious areas which may result in a hole, you might have them lasered in advance of the surgery.

The thing you are hoping is for no reoccurrence. My friend of 33 has had a stroke and no after effects but now she is aware she has a hole in her heart. To opt for surgery will mean she doesn't have to worry for the rest of her life if another clot will form and go to her brain. Sometimes the after effects could mean being a prisoner in your body that does not do what you desire or think for it to do.
I have been diagnosed as having a mild hole in the heart with a right to left shunt. I do not know the difference between a left to right shunt, to a right to left shunt. I need an easy explanation, is one or the other more dangerous? I experience symptoms ie breathlessnes and giddiness on exertion and recurrent TIAs. 1. It is definietly higher than normal since the back wall has a hole in it.

No. when you first have sex, your hole will adapt to his part, it will hurt at first but its small because you havent had sex, but once you do, it will adapt to it and get used to it.
