Avatar m tn For the test now, which test should I take for the greatest accuracy considering those available in Houston, TX? Is the Antibody/Antigen test available here? Where exactly? For the test at 6-8 weeks, I will do the standard 3rd generation Antibody test. I find several of those available locally. The good news is, I feel horrible about the incident and mark it off as the biggest mistake in my marriage. If anything, it has proved that no temporary feeling is worth losing your family.

For the test at 6-8 weeks, I will do the standard 3rd generation Antibody test. Is this a reasonable strategy? Should I include hepatitis testing at some point? Avatar n tn Last week I went to a massage place in Houston,TX. While we were having sex, I realized that the condom broke all the way which left my penis exposed. When I told her that the condom broke, she immediately brought a new one and we continued. I assume we had sex without a condom for about 2 to 3 minutes may be less. I have not seen any blood on my penis. I asked her if she was clean or not, she said she is clean but you never know. I have no symptoms of anything sofar.
Avatar f tn You folks do amazing work. On a recent visit 4 days ago to the local massage parlor in Houston TX, I engaged in sexual activity with the massage lady/ CSW - she was from china and spoke no English. First activity was a protected ******* with a condom for about 5 minutes. Then she removed the condom and gave me an unprotected handjob using baby oil as lube for another 3-4 minutes until I orgasmed. She then wiped me with a warm towel (not sure how clean it was).
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I moved to Houston, TX six months ago. 3 months ago I had protected intercourse (didn't check if the comdom broke) ejaculated inside with the condom on and sucked nippled with an asian girl at a massage place. one and half months ago had protected intercourse with a white girl, again ejaculated inside but didnt check if the condom broke. one month ago had another protected intercourse with a black escort, sucked her nipples, but she pulled me out just before I ejaculated.
Avatar m tn and it took at least 4 working days to get the report faxed back to the doctor's office). Should the test be sensitive enough in Houston, TX in the year 2008 to detect HIV in the 9th week? I am getting some sore throat, swollen lymphs, nose irritation and clear mucus - and getting worried with the thought that my body could possibly not manage to produce those antibodies in-time. Again, I understand that they can be allergies too.
Avatar m tn And the rna tests doesn't even look for hiv 2. Btw, I'm from Houston tx. Best cancer care in the world one of the worst for getting hiv testing. 2nd gen test wtf! Thanks.
Avatar f tn I live in Houston Tx usa I'm very stressed and need updated answers I've been searching for months and have so many mixed answers.
Avatar m tn One week ago for the first time, I visited a dominatrix escort in Houston, TX, out of my Bi curiosity. Now I am so worried that I may catch something from the event, need your help for risk assessment and testing advice. 1) The escort used 4 anal sex toys with variant size to inserted into my anus. Since it is my first time for anal play, the dildo, which is biggest one she tried on me only came 1/4 inch of my anus because the pain.
428506 tn?1296560999 Blood Work (regular ones and one testing for heptitis B and C IgG)... all normal...hiv normal...(negative)... 2 visual evoked potential normal... visual field test normal, optic nerve tomography normal (no optic neuritis)... so neurologists think it isnt MS (it was postulated by one neurologist). Can it be Lyme? Y lived until recently in Houston, in the suburbs...but i dont think it is an endemic area!!!! and I KNOW im not imagining these symptoms!
Avatar n tn Pegylated interferon and ribavirin have several serious side effects, including depression, anemia, and neutropenia. Some of these side effects overlap with symptoms of HIV disease and side effects of certain HIV medications. Potentially dangerous drug interactions between ribavirin and other nucleoside analogues -- notably ddI (Videx) and d4T (Zerit) -- have also been documented. Coinfected people often experience severe side effects during HCV treatment, making adherence difficult.
304153 tn?1194827741 i believe the question should not be to tx or not to tx but whether one can wait 1 or 2 years for newer, shorter and much more effective and less toxic tx to be approved? i felt great when i tx'd and now, 1 year after i still feel like **** and have lingering sides. why tx if you are stage 1 or 2 or maybe even a beginning stage 3 when hope is around the corner. i did clear but would give it back if i could have my health back and time to wait for new tx. i was at 37 years and stage 3.
Avatar n tn , YET....supposedly my Dr., others, do testing beforehand for autoimmune diseases and through out my tx and reductions, he kept saying my blood work wasn't suggesting any?! Anyone else up there seeing that stress intensifies their symptoms?
Avatar f tn Rocker's thread about annual LFT testing got me wondering. How did you learn that you had Hep C? I was tested after my cancer surgeon noticed scarring on my liver when he reviewed my annual follow-up CT scans. Later I learned that my PCP (former) had ignored elevated ALT and AST for more than 25 years. By the time I was tested the liver damage was stage 2/3. Good thing the surgeon ordered that test and asked questions or I would not have gotten tx!
1225178 tn?1318984204 Gastritis and 6 doctors to figure it out. Only one of them picked up on ALT @ 59 and ran Hep panel. That was 1.5 years ago. I am now on tx and UND for 5.5 months and still suffer from gastritis.
2029713 tn?1373044704 I liked my last GI that I used for my first tx in 1999, but he is in the medical center here in houston. It's an allday affair for a simple appointment. But, I'm regretting not using him this time around. I felt bad the last time I treated, but not this bad.
479244 tn?1271567259 This is way to important to make a mistake on damage, and consequently make a mistake on tx delay. Its good you are keeping your IR under control, since on triple therapy with the new drugs, you will also need to respond to inf. This is a catch 22 though, since HCV causes IR and once you clear the HCV you probably will not be IR anymore. Maybe Co will maybe chime in on this and explain better. If you did decide to treat again now with soc and your IR under control you might be RVR.
Avatar m tn If not her Email I am sure you can reach her at the Methodist Transplant Center in Houston, Tx.
Avatar n tn The cost of healthcare in texas is still on the rise even though he passed tort reform,,,,we are still waiting on it. The city of houston is now ranked #1 in air pollution. We have Mr Bush to thank for that as he relaxed the pollution control laws. Another thing I laugh at,,,,the year 2000, he ran as a uniter not a divider. The country is more partisan then it has ever been before and the same is specially true in texas. As for Kerry being a coward...
Avatar n tn You're going to laugh but I did see a UFO in Houston Tx in 1963!! So did my mother, and she's the type who doesn't believe anything until she sees it. So here I am, an herb-taking, UFO-seeing hepper! I hope you do very well on tx. We'll be here with you.
Avatar f tn I am going back to be screened for the ABT triple therapy Trial as an alternate. I'm not sold that the Gilead TX is going to be the Gold Standard for future TX.
Avatar f tn I have to keep the cost of testing as low as I can. Basically, I can afford the minimum amount of testing needed. I will also be paying for follow-ups out of pocket. Thanks Idyllic.
Avatar f tn Some even went on tx after they were on immune suppressants and got SVR. Have never seen or heard of a documented case of virus breakthrough or reinfection for any of these immune suppressed SVR people. I have read studies verifying this also.
Avatar f tn I do feel much better than I did pre and during treatment (7977/Ribvirin) but I need a cane to walk most days and I am in a lot of pain too. I do believe that some people suffer from Post Interferon TX, but I think cirrhosis can play a part in it, as well.
Avatar f tn I would agree to find a good hepatologist, where are you in Tx. I would think there would be some in Dallas, get all your information in order, pay out of pocket to see the hepatologist and tell her/him that you need to help to get treated and the best way to go about this. You might also see if there are any hepatitis C support groups anywhere in your area, maybe Houston, Dallas, Austin and see what they can do. Also maybe the local public health department.
334847 tn?1206533840 On Prove 3 trials (like Andiamo) I too was UND at Week 1-2. Post tx Week 12 I was still UND. This week I go in for post tx Week 24. If still UND (hope and pray) I'm considering myself cured. RVR really is THE KEY for the trials and SOC (standard of care). Does anyone know what information that Vertex misled on the Prove 2 trials? Eric: Sorry to not respond to earlier email, I was just off-tx and messed up. How can we talk offline? Also congrats on finishing tx. 8x is a charm!
233616 tn?1312790796 Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA; Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA; Schering-Plough Research Institute (now Merck & Co), Whitehouse Station, NJ; Duke Clinical Research Institute, Durham, NC. 1/11/11 Reference MS Sulkowski, ML Shiffman, NH Afdhal, and others (IDEAL Study Team). Hepatitis C virus treatment-related anemia is associated with higher sustained virologic response rate.
9662954 tn?1405609759 My liver doc essentially told me he is done with me having exhausted all treatment options and I should follow-up with my PCP for disability requests, post-treatment testing and monitoring, etc. . . So, I would be lying if I ddi not admit to being scared and confused. Not many doctors even know this non-FDA approved experimental treatment!
Avatar f tn I just hope we all get better and this stops... Vangie2010, Im also from Houston, Tx. Please let me know if youve found a good doctor that doesnt just write it off as anxiety.
