Hi all. Just wondering if the POC rapid test is considered a standard hiv antibody test? I have read Dr. HHH say 90-95% of people who are positive will show at 4 weeks with a standard antibody test with no other issues (chemo. treatment, immune issues, etc...). Is the POC considered that type of test?

Although, the public nurse said that HIV test has to be done after 3 months of "Window period". I have read couple posts here and many doctors already have said that it can be detected after 3-4 weeks. So yes, since 19th of July it has been a month.

All of my tests came back negative! I will finally be able to get some much needed sleep. I tested for HIV, and common Stds.
My last inquiry is whether or not I should go for a follow up HIV test in the next couple of months.
I tested 5 weeks and 2 days after my last exposure 'scare'. A p24 Antigen test was done, as well as HIV antibody test -both were negative.
Are these resultus 100% conclusive, or do I need further testing to be 100% sure?
Delayed seroconversion and delayed positive HIV tests are urban myths, left over from the earliest HIV tests not used for almost 20 years. Anybody claims this in more recent years is either intentionally misleading or doesn't believe or understand when s/he actually acquired the virus.
The bottom line remains that your test result proves you don't have HIV.
I am diagnosed for Chiari, Type I. Anybody had Chiari surgery in Ottawa? Any specialist recommendation? Please share your experince or suggestion with me. I am really stuck and I do not know if I should do surgery or not although the doctor told me I should.
