Not sure what you're asking. Once a person is HIV+, they will always be positive. A positive person who has unprotected intercourse with ANYONE, pregnant or not...can infect that person.
Having unprotected sex with a positive person is always a risk, but will not DEFINITELY result in that person getting infected.

I was wondering if you are in fact having acute hiv symptoms and you do have hiv is it possible for the test to show up positive early as 2 weeks or the absoulte soonest 3 months. Can u have symptoms n it show up positive before 3 months or the result may not be accrate before 3 months even tho u may be having symptoms. Thanks.
Fliguy, nothing that you have mentioned in reference to the symptom pattern is specific to HIV. Swollen nodes associated with HIV doesn't occur in ones or twos in a specific part of the body. It's generalized and occurs 2 to 4 weeks post the viral contraction.
I would strongly recommend you not to waste $15 since the experts would not tell you any different than "you're in the clear".
Even so, it is very very rare for a men receiving oral sex to get HIV because HIV levels in the saliva will be too low to infect someone unless she has an open wound in her mouth and you have a cut on your penis. But, that is merely to inform you. The test is conclusive from what I've read after the 3 month period.

You seem to have learned my answers by reading the forum, so you won't be surprised by my replies. (The reason threads stay available is so that people in your situation can learn what they need to know without having to ask their own questions.) The quick reply is that your risk was too low to even have HIV testing, regardless of your symptoms. Interesting to see those statistics on HIV in Scotland; that's less than one third the rate in the US.
In addition, most syphilis in gay men these days (in the US and western Europe) is in those who already have HIV -- so it is likely that you acquired your syphilis from an HIV positive partner. You absolutely DO need HIV testing. You need to be in the care of a doctor or clinic very experienced in both HIV and syphilis, then follow their advice about which HIV tests to have and when.
However, you haven't said anything about the stage and duration of your syphilis: primary? secondary?
At 4 weeks the figure rises to 90% and by 8 weeks virtually everyone who has HIV will have a positive test. When symptoms are caused by HIV however, antibody tests typically become positive just a few days after symptoms begin because the symptoms of early HIV are due to the interaction of the virus with antibodies.
thus, to summarize, this was a low risk exposure with little risk for infection and I am confident that your symptoms do not represent recently acquired HIV.
