Avatar m tn SO I tested at 3 days after the comp and 5 and 1/2 weeks (5th November) with the HIV - NON COMMERCIAL (HIR-0) HIV 1 and HIV 2 ab/ag test which both came back negative. Is the test I received the 4th Generation DUO/Combo test? I'm reading conflicting information everywhere about the validity of the tests and window period etc.....
Avatar f tn It can effect health of baby if you were RH negative and your baby's father was RH positive.
Avatar f tn A couple of months ago my father cheated on my mother. So I have no idea of his HIV status. It was a difficult time for our family so I really didn’t want to bring it up. Considering the situation described above, do I need a HIV test after my encounter? I am really stressed about this...
Avatar f tn At the time you were tested (2 months), 98-99% of people would have already tested positive for the virus. I think, however, because you are certain your partner is HIV positive, it is best to do a confirmatory test at the 3 month mark following your last exposure. If you did a test at 2 months, it's EXTREMELY EXTREMELY unlikely your result will change, but just to be completley safe, I suggest you do one. An HIV+ male and a negative woman can have children.
461503 tn?1212066010 Even without a condom, if she was HIV infected (and you have her assurance that she was not) the chances of getting HIV from unprotected oral sex are less than 1 in 10,000. With condoms the risk is far lower, had she been HIV infected (and she was almost certainly not). At the time you were tested at 2 weeks, over half of HIV infections that are going to be positive would have been. At four weeks that figure rises to 85-90%.

Avatar n tn I was informed by my doctor that I tested positive on the 1st HIV test but inconclusive on the second. What does this mean. I really have no reason to test positive. But I am scared he said it could be my pregnancy causing an antibody that tests positive and to test in 1 month. I am so sad, angry and scared , because I dont know what is going on and I am worried for my unborn child. Could you please tell me if you have heard of this before.
Avatar m tn Anyway, can anyone here tell me whether or not HPV will interfere and cause a false positive test result on an Oraquick HIV Rapid Test? I had the warts that started back around this time in 2009. They were treated and then left alone and I have now just about cleared them all. there might be a couple of them left, but I think my immune system has just about cleared them. My father had them before too and said he eventually cleared them, years ago.
Avatar m tn 1 month after my exposure i had ars symptoms including lymphodenopaty and rash during this time my mother had needle stick with me and she began to experience ars symptoms including enlarged liver later on my father found flu like symptoms including lymphodenopaty.
Avatar f tn Anything else you can think of is not a risk, including licking or ingesting blood. Is your father HIV-positive? If so, your fears may be eased by having a conversation with his doctor.
Avatar m tn Are you sure you are HIV positive? EBV can cause those symptoms yes. HIV no chance to pass it like that.
677752 tn?1227007495 My HCV test is positive, i am worried, in my country there is no perfact treatment for this disease. Can you help me please by your suggestions.
Avatar f tn Am very much stressed about whether some hiv get sucked in through that wart in my finger. I lived with a hiv infected father for 10 years, now he died. I am so much worried. This is one tym i tried to have sexual contact. Iam 33 years old. Avoided sex due to fear of hiv. Wanted to feel how a vagina feels like. So tried this. Never had penetrative sex. Somebody experts pls throw some clarity.
Avatar f tn Not sure what you're asking. Once a person is HIV+, they will always be positive. A positive person who has unprotected intercourse with ANYONE, pregnant or not...can infect that person. Having unprotected sex with a positive person is always a risk, but will not DEFINITELY result in that person getting infected. Does that help?

Avatar m tn It must be emphasized that these findings are only applicable to monogamous, HIV negative heterosexuals. People with multiple sex partners, HIV positive individuals (men and women), and gay/bisexual men are at higher risk; there have been no adequate studies of lesbians. Studies to date of HCV sexual transmission among gay men have not shown consistent associations with specific activities, so it is difficult to recommend particular safer sex or other harm reduction strategies.
