Avatar m tn helllo I recently got my 12 weeks negative result after unprotected sex with an hiv positive woman, how assuring is this and also is it definitely conclusive?
Avatar m tn What was your exposure?. Anyways any antibody test at 12 weeks is conclusive. If it came out negative, you don't have hiv.
Avatar n tn I am thinking of getting both hiv dna pcr and hiv antibody test at 84 days. Do you all think I should get both? If not why?

Avatar m tn s sake they were taken too early - I have since had a DNA PCR test (9.5 weeks); and another antibody test (12 weeks) - also negative. This all seems promising, right? The concern I have is that, despite these results, my symptoms persist. Most noticeably, lymph glands are present and there is a light / transient but tangible rash (which appears to be getting worse) affecting my neck, chest, face and back.
Avatar f tn Hi I took hiv rna qualitative assay at 12 days came back negative also took quick ora at 61 days, was negative my exposure was oral sex. However I’ve noticed a little ball it’s some times painful in the back of my head where my neck connects I’m constantly touching it. Smaller then a pea and I only noticed it because I was looking up hiv symptoms and I seen swollen lymph nodes so I started feeling around. I have a 10 panel test in about 1-2 week what’s my chances of it changing to positive?
Avatar f tn The patient tested HIV negative and hepatitis c positive. I tested HIV negative and hepatitis c negative at 6 and 12 weeks. I did not take pep because patient was negative. I had taken a medrol dose pack for 3 days before my 6 week test and I had a kenalog shot the week before my 12 week test. Do those drugs interfere with the antibody tests? My test was HIV 1/0/2 by ICMA at labcorp. I'm breastfeeding my baby and she keeps getting colds and ear infections. She gets a cold every month.
Avatar m tn hiv antibody rapid poct at 78 days negative but symptoms general lymp swelling constant headachee could this have prevented the test from turning positive or can i rely on my results? should i retest next week at 12 weeks? thankyou for your help.
Avatar m tn Yes you need to obtain your conclusive test result.
Avatar f tn On December 10, I had an oral encounter in which I gave a ******* to a guy who claims he is HIV negative. I had an Oraquick blood test approximately 30 days later and it came out negative. I know that my risk was minimal at most, but is there even a slight chance that I could go back at the 12 week mark and be positive?
Avatar m tn the official guidelines are 3 months. 3 months equal 12 weeks and 12 weeks equal 84 days! You tested at 112 days post exposure. Nobody needs to test beyond 84 days unless they are on pep, organ transplant medication or maybe, MAYBE chemotherapy. Contrary to popular belief and statistical math shenanigans, NOBODY gets a false negative post 12 weeks!
