Avatar f tn Sometimes my ears Plug up and the stuff coming out of m lungs and nose is dark yellow and green. Are these HIV symptoms? Should I get tested? I also noticed a Nicole sized rash on the top of my hand but it may be a bruise as its not itchy and not raised. I'm freaking out here!
Avatar m tn s just that I read on the cdc site and other forums that oral sex is indeed a risk for HIV and studies have shown this. It leaves me confused and as you know, anxious. Thanks for the answers and support.
Avatar m tn if male to female insertive vaginal sex is 1 - 500 or 1 - 200 or whatever assuming female is hiv+ and male does not.... and assuming unprotected sex occured... how is it that 35 million people worldwide have hiv/aids..... just wondering.. wouldnt you think the number would be much lower.. because 1 outa of every 200 exposures isnt high at all yet 35 million people have hiv. ..........

Avatar n tn This whole experience has felt like going on an intensive crash course on HIV/AIDS and the one major benefit is that you are forced into a situation of educating yourself which hopefully puts you in good stead for any future decisions/encounters. To the core contributors on this forum - I do admire your endurance in answering the same questions day in day out, and I realise you must feel like throwing your pc against the wall with some of the stuff that is posted on here.
Avatar m tn You never had a risk of contracting HIV. Oral sex does not transmit HIV. See your doctor if you are concerned about your signs and symptoms, they have nothing to do with HIV.

Avatar m tn you were not at risk and are not infected with HIV; and there are no facts you can think of, or scenarious your mind might consider, that would change my opinion or advice.
480448 tn?1426948538 HIV education is vital....and in this day and age, not ONE more person should be getting infected. It is completely avoidable. If you have been tested, and your result is NEG at 3 months, you do NOT have HIV, despite any "symptoms" you are sure you have. One can NEVER EVER gauge a risk by physical symptoms.
Avatar n tn There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk". DR.
Avatar m tn You are worrying for nothing.HIV is only transmitted via breast milk to infants not adults. That link is wrong.
Avatar m tn you don't know anything about HIV if you think HIV is transmitted that easily.
Avatar m tn those facts are useless some people live with HIV + PEOPLE and never get infected and some get infected from first time statistics with medical issues are useless just stay protected and that is the BEST you can do
Avatar m tn Add http://aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/prevention/hiv-testing/hiv-test-types/ to that list.
Avatar n tn 18. Kissing and HIV. What if there's blood in the saliva? This really doesn't change anything since enzymes in saliva significantly impair HIV's ability to transmit. There would need to be a lot more blood in your partner's mouth for there to be any concern at all, and even then you would need to have significant active bleeding in your own mouth to have potential risk.
5054727 tn?1362955307 We've discussed this ad nauseum here. You can search the forum and find probably hundreds of discussions about this. The CDC is a very conservative agency, they are not going to say something is impossible, due to liabilty reasons. If oral sex was TRULY a risk, there would be new infections diagnosed daily from oral, and almost everyone would be infected. The FACTS are, there aren't even statistical figures about oral sex leading to infection.
Avatar m tn Many people who have been infected with HIV have few or no HIV symptoms, HIV testing is the only way to know for sure if you are infected or not. As for your question, yes people infected with the virus can go years before any symptoms show up.
