Acer, a dentist who was shared by the six patients and who died of complications of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). So how could a HIV postive dentist spread HIV to six people if HIV can't survive outside the body?? And the CDC said he didn't have sex or use drugs with any of these people. Do you guys have any insights??

HIV can be transmitted due to sharing needles, this is because the blood interact. Unfortunately, there is no cure for HIV (note that HIV isn't the same as AIDS) but treatment for this virus is really advanced. There are medications that permit people live a completely normal life with HIV without developing AIDS. I hope everything is ok, post your results.
Personally, I think you didn't involve in high risk. This virus is very fragile and die easily at normal temperature.

i read a lot of post about hiv , cdc gudiline said that if hiv blood is wet then hiv virus is active (live) in the wet blood few hours and hiv virus it can survive in wet condition , out side the human body , and if hiv blood is dry then hiv virus unactive and unable to infect !
Dear doctor, Can HIV antibody be detected in last stage of AIDS patient by elisa test.One of my relative had several exposure in 9 years ago with prostitude when he was in a UN mission in africa. Some web site for example google books says antibody can not be detected at advanced stage of infection. I first decided that I should test myself to make sure that i was negative, now though I keep getting scared that my results are innacurate. I tested myself using oraquick almost, four times (starting in October) after my last sexual exposure, which was with a condom in July (23rd), the test results all came back negative.

Hello. I've heard CDC reps on the phone tell people anyone can take 6 months to seroconversion and only 97% of people become positive in 3 months. What catagorys do the other 3% fall under?
Teak, are you a medical expert? 1)Why does the cdc recommend testing at 6 months? 2)why were lancets left in a drawer that anyone could get to and poke themselves with?
