I was diagnosed with Gerd last spring and was put on Ranitidine 150 mgs twice daily. Later found out that I had H. Pylori, had this cleared up after suffering with it most of the summer. I figured that was what caused the GERD, was later put on zantac 150 mgs, however, haven't really been taking meds. However, of late noticed that I've been coughing and find myself always clearing my throat, of which is starting to get annying.
Now i am doubtful that i am pregnant as i removed my copper T recently. I am under treatment for stomach inflammation. i am taking ranitidine 150 twice daily for the last 2 months and buscopan when i have stomach pain. i take antacid when have heartburn if i happen to eat anything which is not suitable for my present stomach condition. pls tell me, is it safe to take those medicines if i am pregnant? or do i have to abort if i am pregnant? i am very much worried....thanks in advance.
long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came. Went to urgent care a week later for them to tell me my breathing is fine and sent me off w/ instructions to take an expectorant and a rx for albuterol. Both did not work.

I too suffered with horrendous heartburn in my first pregnancy and tried the usual gaviscon, milk etc. This time it was so bad third trimester I went to my doctors and he prescribed me ranitidine, I take one a day and its been a life saver. Hope this helps! Good luck.
The pepcid ac duel action chewables (expensive but are great!) are the best for me with 150-300mg of ranitidine a day if I'm not watching my diet. I'm convinced most people get heart burn like me because of a sensitivity or allergy to gluten. People just won't commit to not eating wheat barley and rye flour and all the foods that contain it...yes, flour tortillas, bread, beer, pizza crust,pancakes and most everything else that's bad for you.

no, i havent yet but ranbaxy is so big on generic market that even fda cannot attack them since many drugs are not produced anymore in US.

I had a prescription for Ranitidine (prescription version of zantac 150) and it said to take it twice a day! I took it first thing in the morning then again before bed.
what is the brand name of sim from ranbaxy? And pl tell me the dosage.
Have you tried Zantac 150? It's the over-the-counter equivalent of the prescription Ranitidine (I was prescribed it when I was pregnant). 2 of those twice a day should do the trick!
In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions? The pain meds are for arthritic hip and knee and rotator cuff surgery.
