Avatar f tn High blood sugar levels (diabetes) and high blood pressure (hypertension) both damage the tiny vessels in your eye. Diabetes can even lead to blindness!
752468 tn?1237560359 Hi...I am a member of the Breast Cancer Community and just found out that my husband's blood glucose level fasting is 250. He has had the symptoms of diabetis ...excessive thirst, weight loss...tingly feet, and I noticed very sticky spots of urine on the bathroom floor. We are not surprised that he has diabetis...runs in the family. My question is, where do we go first. He hasn't even talked to a doctor yet, but we want to get a jump on this.
Avatar n tn I do believe that if it was diabetes causing this, he would have other symptoms such as the ones I listed in regards to High Blood Sugar and I have not yet read anywhere that sugar cravings fall in the high blood sugar category. I would lean towards hypoglycemia, but as I mentioned, I am not a medical professional, so there could be something else triggering these cravings. You definitely need to talk again with your physician. (2nd opinions are good!
Avatar m tn Anyone experience high blood pressure from Wellbutrin? I found an old supply of it in my closet and started on it 1 week ago today (Sat). I had already been tapering down to about 5-6 smokes a day and this really helped with the rest of the way. But I had been noticing the past few days my eyes were looking bloodshot in the morning and I did not feel so great. I went to a heath fair Thursday morning and they checked my BP and it was rather high 142/102. Later than afternoon it was 142/86 .
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar n tn After I gave him something really sweet to drink about 45 minutes later he was ready to eat. So do we have a problem with low sugar or high sugar? Is this something to worry about? He cant't talk so he can't tell us how he feels. My husband won't have insurance until the end of April. So were kinda stuck at the moment with being able to get anyone to help us. We were also told that since his seizures last that long we should really be worrying about brain deteriation.
Avatar n tn I had mentioned to a friend with a diabetic son that after I exercise(run) in the morning my blood sugar will sometimes shoot up 100-150 points and this is after a reading of 120-150 prior to running on my treadmill. I then have readings that are 200-250 and I get very frustrated! I am a type I diabetic for 26 years. I thought this was strange seeing that I had not eaten anything to make my blood sugar climb so high.
Avatar f tn I m Type-1 diabetic from last 15 years and my blood sugar level used to be under control but from last 2 Weeks, my sugar level fluctuates a lot. Fasting blood sugar is nearly around 300 : before dinner around 500 and after dinner its around 400.There is no change in my diet, exercise or my daily routine pattern. Even I take short acting insulin(novorapid) when my sugar level goes beyond 300 but it doesn't make much difference. I m really worried.
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me how high your blood sugar should get before you become alarmed or call the doctor? I have not been diagnosed but a few months and my doctor has not told me much of nothing. My sugar keeps going up and down, my doctor won't put me on medicine(the highest its been is 400+, the lowest 60) Thanks for your help!!!
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
212161 tn?1599427282 Plus I went to eye dr yesterday had my eyes diluted and she said my eyes were showing pre diabete my veins were narrow, did not know my sugar was running that high to hurt my eyes. Little scared . But will be calling dr Monday morning. If I take my sugar when scared over this will it be higher because of nerves.
Avatar f tn I agree with troytroy that you need to meet with a doctor or diabetic educater to learn the basics of diabetes care. First of all being continually over 130 for fasting blood sugar is too high. Your wife needs to have her doctor evaluate her medication regimen and see if something needs to be changed. Also I'm guessing you don't know much about diet and exercise to help control Type II diabetes and this is very important to learn.
Avatar m tn Now is the seizures due to low sugar or high sugar. Test showed high sugar. Can a high sugar also cause seizures. I don't want to treat him with the wrong treatment ie glucose if it is actually a high sugar seizure and not low like we think it is? Very confused as the treatment for high and low is so different? Pls can someone shed some light. Blessings!!
Avatar f tn In the other type an intake of sugar will raise blood sugar. The latter would explain why the intake of sugar helps you. I hope other people on this forum can explain it better, since my knowledge is sketchy. I have reactive hypoglycemia.
