Avatar f tn t having any of this pain as I do now. Dr said that as long as I have no problems then surgery can be put off. I still sleep on my stomach and have no pain as long as I do not try to turn.......who ever sleeps in the same position all night. I definitely don't. I don't have any medical insurance and have to pay for everything out of pocket.
4706518 tn?1358198536 I also have had mesh surgery as of February this year. Since surgery I have had pain in my stomach everyday and cant work in my job. In hide site I have found a Dr. that will remove the mesh as he is specialized in this field. The downfall is he is in Las Vegas and he doesn't except insurance. He has financing. Its Dr. Kevin Peterson. He has NIS group. NO INSURANCE SURGERY GROUP. Good luck I'll be interested if anyone has this removal. I would like to know the out come.
Avatar m tn I can not get travel insurance in relation to hernia surgery. Wondering what the risk is of complications post surgery? Do I go or not go?
Avatar n tn I had a few umbilicar hernia operations, the last surgery a mesh was placed in my stomic. Years later I noticed my stomic is geting larger and larger and it is very hard, I was told i need two doctors one for the hernia and the other for the diastasis abd wall. My questions are - 1 would my insurance pay? 2- Do you know of a good Doctor. - Is it a diffacult operation?
1222635 tn?1366396286 as most of yall know i have issued with a fractured back and now i have a hernia that needs repair but i have no health insurance. i am a member of the maternity care program with medicaid but that means that i can ONLY receive health care related to pregnancy and only for up to 60 days after delivery. so i need to find some sort of health insurance to take care of these issues..
Avatar f tn I am a 21yo female, 5'4", 118 pounds. I'm gluten sensitive and lactose intolerant but other than some hay fever and asthma I'm a decently healthy person. I was diagnosed with a femoral hernia in October at the ER and was told that no surgeons would see me without insurance so I've just been trying my best to live with it. They told me it wasn't a very bad one though, so I should be fine so long as I didn't lift anything.

Avatar f tn Hello, I used to have extreme pain in the left lower abdomen area (groin area), which was the result of a hernia. I had surgery in July and that took all the pain away. Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, the same exact pain came back. For the past few days, Ive had extreme sharp pain in the same area. I went to the surgeon who fixed my hernia, and she proclaimed that "there is no way the pain is from the hernia".
Avatar f tn from April to August 2010, and left it open wound for a space of three weeks.. They closed the incision again, and after that I had my first hernia surgery on September 2010. After that one, I had every year after, a hernia repair surgery and waiting at this moment for the decision of a new one. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't told about all the complications that this surgery can or might have.
Avatar n tn Could this be because of my surgery and are the doctors Responsible for this? I have no medical Insurance either right now so me going to the doctor isn't likely. I am not a complainer and i normally can withstand some pain since my work gets me cut and stabbed with glass and blades a lot. I've had surgery in the past for a stomach condition to where my body was starving myself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn i have hepatitis c and i've developed a hernia,, how risky is it to perform surgery on my belly buttom while i have hepatitis c.
1118349 tn?1325499936 ll have to find out what your insurance requires before they approve of the surgery. Remember, though, that this is MAJOR surgery, and the recovery process takes a really long time. My aquaintence expects to need help around the house for at least a year. She has other health issues, too, but the point is that this is a very big deal. The longer you can put off this surgery, the better off you'll be.
625302 tn?1255485995 Now I face another surgery with this hernia. is this normal or common? What obligations or responsibility should my surgeon have? This discussion is related to Had hernia repair after tummy tuck and doesn't look right..
Avatar m tn It seems that there is a strange link between my left testicle with the area, and around the area, of my hernia repair incision. This link starts from the back side of my testicle. From the research I've done, it seems that the Vas deferens or spermatic cord have a discomforting link with the area around the hernia repair wound. This is not painful but it is discomforting to say the least.
Avatar n tn I am a 48 year old female and have had three large babies all resulting in a C-section, after the third child I developed an incisional hernia which was repaired with mesh surgery, now 14 years later I have been diagnosed with both an umbilical hernia as well as a ventral hernia, I am quite limited with general daily activities, I have also been diagnosed with ms and severe lower disc degeneration what can I do to stay fit and do I need surgery help!!!!!
1072053 tn?1255438362 I'm 22, and the job I'm with doesn't provide health insurance just yet as I just started it. I went to the ER and they took blood and stool sample, however, found no H. Pylori in either. Now, I'm no doctor, but H.Pylori would not be in my blood stream right, it would only be within the area of the stomach where heavy acids are, because that's where it harbors.
18663 tn?1198171815 They will have to take the baby from my side and there are many risks because of that. My insurance will NOT approve the hernia surgery because it is in Portland which is 4 hours away from me. I get approx. 70 bubbles a day (where I have to push them back in). They are getting harder to push back in.
Avatar f tn I have sharp abdominal pain to the right of my abdomen about 3 fingers width. It has been there for months and I mainly feel it upon touch. Lately I've felt bloated. I saw an obgyn and ovaries and uterus have been ruled out. My pcp wants to send me for a CT scan of the abdomen. Is she thinkining hiatal hernia possibly caught early?? I am thin, don't always eat the best, not pregnant (my son is 8) . She says its in the area of the ileocecal valve.
Avatar f tn Actually, since I've had the barium swallow done recently and will have to have the surgery for GERD (Nissen Fundoplication), that's the test that determined that I have a small hiatal hernia. I was told that normally the hiatal hernia isn't the culprit for the symptoms. Usually GERD is a problem with the LES (Lower Esophageal Sphincter) being too loose (and for some people the acid has erroded the LES completely).
1169557 tn?1263270893 Although she got what she wanted and lost over 200 pounds, she is now left looking pregnant with her hernia and is still in and out of hospitals to this day. There are days she cannot keep food down and gets sick. She is on very strong pain medication as perscribed by her doctor. Just before christmas, she went in the hospital again. She had lost 8 bags worth of blood through her bowels, and doctors say she was half an hour away from cardiac arrest.
Avatar m tn For many years, my upper stomach has been growing larger and larger. Although I am a bit overweight, I knew that this was not normal. Finally a diagnosis.. I have an epigastric hernia so I have surgery and fix it right? Well, my surgery is scheduled for THIS FRIDAY (two days from today) and now I am reading all of the forums and all of the bad news from patients that are sorry they went through with the surgery. ARE THERE ANY GOOD AFTER SURGERY REPORTS OUT THERE?
Avatar n tn If your insurance allows, go directly to a gastroenterologist, who can diagnose a hernia and refer to a surgeon if necessary. Two different PCPs treated me for GERD symptoms for more than 10 years and never found my hernia. When I relocated cities and went directly to a gastroenterologist, she found the hernia right away. She foundation a paraesophogeal hernia the size of a baseball wrapped around my esophogeus.
Avatar m tn The CABG area should be located in the area of your sternum. In my opinion, this hernia has nothing to do with the surgery or your car accident.
