Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with both Genitofemoral and Iliolingual (sp) nueropathy on my left side. I developed a illiolinqual hernia on the left side and had hernia surgery where a synthetic mesh was placed. Even after the surgery I continued to have pain in my left testicle and inner thigh. A second exploratory surgery was performed to see if the femoral nerve was entrapped in any way with the mesh from the hernia surgery. The nerve appeared free from the mesh.
Avatar n tn So the heart doctor thinks that the chest pain is caused from the hital hernia and the acid reflux and thinks that having the chest pain as bad as I have it that surgery is needed for the hernia. I need some advice on this can anyone help me.
Avatar n tn In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there. Lab investigations like complete blood examination, urine examination, ultrasound lower abdomen and sometimes a urethral swab will help in diagnosis. Treatment will be started thereafter. My advise would be to consult a urologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar m tn I did not have surgery to repair a inguinal hernia. I had a hiatal hernia. I just didnt know if that could have anything to do with it. Thanks.
Avatar n tn If factors like straining activities, constipation etc persist, then they enlarge faster. Surgery is the treatment opted for when the size is large and hernia is symptomatic. Having said that, I would also say that the earlier it is repaired, the better it is. There are belts available for umbilical and paraumbilical hernias which you can wear to minimize pressure on the hernia. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn It is possible it will go down or be less noticeable after you deliver, yet will always be there. If it gets worse surgery will be the treatment. I scheduled my hernia surgery just this morning for the end of NOV. YIPPY LOL Hope This Helps.
248382 tn?1274938634 I have just been dx with an umbilical hernia. my platelets are 74.3. Not in pain w/hernia. What about hernia surgery while on treatment?
1338953 tn?1276126156 My question would also be, wear you diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia? I have also have a hiatal hernia. Surgery was recommended for my very severe GERD and to correct the hernia. However because surgery may place me in a life threatening situation I have close to mange it with diet and medications. Please tell us about your diagnosis. Have you seen a gastroenterologist or a Gastro-surgeon?
749700 tn?1234838207 They cannot find anything to show a hernia but I have had five hernia surgeries in the past, a small bowel obstruction repair, parathryoids removed, a mesh net put in place, a esophogeal repair. I am tired of this pain and it's getting worse, sunlight is bothering me along with noise and am tired all the time. Help!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar m tn I am 28 years old with what is likely a sports hernia. There is no noticeable bulge or hernia, and the pain has become unbearable and will confine me to a bed for a week or two at a time. The pain originally manifested in my testicles, but recently I feel pressure in my groin area, resulting in a pinched feeling in my femoral nerves. I've consulted both Dr. Krischkan in Ohio and Dr. Petersen in Nevada, and both do a modified Shouldice (i.e., 2 layers vs. the traditional 4). Dr.

Avatar f tn for sure its not hernia...hiatal hernia produce heart burn and pain in stomache not right lower abdomen....other types of hernia are visible at examination..they dont need ct scan for diagnosis. in your case it can be something blocking the ileocecal valve as its a narrow passage connectng small gut with large one. it can be gall stone, worm, hard piece of feces called fecolith or a growth.
Avatar f tn from April to August 2010, and left it open wound for a space of three weeks.. They closed the incision again, and after that I had my first hernia surgery on September 2010. After that one, I had every year after, a hernia repair surgery and waiting at this moment for the decision of a new one. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't told about all the complications that this surgery can or might have.
Avatar n tn My husband had the surgery many years ago and he did just fine. You will have to take it easy for awhile though. Depending on how extensive the hernia is, I would'nt be too surprised if they do the surgery out patient. Of course you'll receive pains meds and the Dr will send you home with a script for pain meds.
Avatar m tn Within an hour after my auto accident I was diagnosed by CT that I had a hernia in my upper stomach where my surgery (cabg) was 5 months prior. No pain or bulge prior to accident. Is this a result of surgery, the accident or both. I don’t understand how a car accident can cause a hernia.
Avatar m tn I have chiari also and decompression surgery is the only treatment besides monitoring and treating symptoms. I would highly recommend taking your daughter to a chiari specialist as it is a rare condition, as well as getting a few opinions. Best of luck to you and your daughter. I would also recommend the chiari forum.
Avatar n tn I got operation on 11/30/2011 for multiple inguinal hernia. Bilateral scope surgery. I had this hernia for over 15 years. As of right now I feel tenderness and throbing in my left scrotum. "the same EXACT pain i had when I had my hernia" I was constipated for about 4 days. after 4 days I was ok using restroom. I have to use it now however I have pain in scrotum and scared to use any muscles cause it feels like something will bust out of my testicles if I try pushing. Please help.
5447645 tn?1368180755 Possible complications of undescended testicles include infertility later in life and even testicular cancer in both testes. Surgery or orchiopexy to bring the testicle into the scrotum is the main treatment and having surgery early may prevent damage to the testicles that can cause infertility. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper management. Hope this helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear you have a hernia but at least you finally have answers to the pain you've been experiencing. I have not had a hernia (or don't think that is the cause of my occasional twinges of pain/discomfort) so cannot answer any questions about surgery. Hope all goes well!
Avatar m tn t the case, and the doctors leave you in pain and without any diagnosis for pain treatment. In any case, living on pain meds just makes you fat, lazy, and addicted to them. The pain goes away, you get off the meds, then you start to live again, and BAAM, back to the pain. Many cases, like mine, leave you feeling depressed and hopeless. Please don't get that way. Know that there are many like you.
Avatar m tn Treatment involves reducing weight, avoiding constipation, avoiding strenuous work and lifting weight. Hernia is repaired by surgery. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Come to find out, I did have a ingual (SP?) hernia. Surgery/recovery was a breeze. It definately helped get rid of that pain. Now if I could only get rid of the adbominal pain.
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery 7 1/2 wks ago cannot believe the pain i have had. It was a spagelian hernia and I am a female. After surgery my incision & other private parts swelled up the size of a cantelope and turned black & blue , so pain full couldn't walk. bruising and swollen from upper thighs to belly button and around both sides. Said it's a hematoma. Used mesh but that's all I really know.
Avatar n tn Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus. I'd like for a surgeon to just go in and pull the stomach to its proper position and sew up the hole in the diaphram essentially returning everything to its natural order.
