Avatar n tn Two years after double hernia surgery, I am experiencing a burning pain similar to the pain I had prior to surgery, although more mild and intermittent. I have cut down on sit ups and other exercising, hoping that is the problem, although it hasn't helped(yet). Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn My boyfriend had hernia surgery over 2 years ago, since the surgery he has a lot of pain during and after sex. It is to the point he doesn't want to get off, because that is when it hurts the worst. Is there something he can do to correct this problem.

Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia about 6 months ago. I have not been able to get in for surgery or even a check up to see how it is today. I was just curious as to what sleeping positions are best. The most comfortable is on my stomach. When I lay on my sides it puts a lot of weight on it and causes pain and a weird feeling I can't expain. I was also wondering if a hernia can cause bloody stools and death.
2001540 tn?1327492302 Are u on ne type of nerve meds? U shud look into a pain management doctor maybe they would be able to help u with ur pain till ur able to get me more info on ur complications. My husband had a nerve block 2 days ago not sure if it's you guna wrk but we have to give it a LIl time and wait and see. After all he had been through it was worth the shot. Pain meds isn't really the answer so try n stay away frm them as much as possible or get a highly non narcotic med perscribed to u.
Avatar m tn After his surgery the pain got worse. Since 2017 he is having this pain on and off. Now, 2021 the pain is extreme and frequent it's daily at a level 9. He describes the pain likes pins and needles. He is having the pain in bilateral - groining area- femoral area as well. His belly gets swollen and his veins gets dilated. He doesn't have pain any elsewhere.
5447645 tn?1368180755 Were you able to discuss the surgical procedure for the hernia and non-functional testes? It is important that you manage the hernia also to prevent any complications in the future. Take care and do keep us posted.
1338953 tn?1276126156 My question would also be, wear you diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia? I have also have a hiatal hernia. Surgery was recommended for my very severe GERD and to correct the hernia. However because surgery may place me in a life threatening situation I have close to mange it with diet and medications. Please tell us about your diagnosis. Have you seen a gastroenterologist or a Gastro-surgeon?

Avatar m tn I had surgery for an inigual hernia on my right side ,open surgery. on january of 2007, soon after the surgery i started getting pain in my right testicle and severe cramping in my stomach area and extreme pain. I have seen 2 surgeons since the first surgery, the first surgeon thought it might be caused by the inigual nerve. On january 2008 i had surgery to have the nerve cut. It did not help and the pain in my testicle and groin area, as well as my abdomain has been getting worse.
Avatar m tn Discuss with your doctor the possible management plan including pain management as well as complementary and alternative medicine such as relaxation techniques if surgery is out of the choices. Take care always.
Avatar m tn I have upper and lower pain in my abominal area. When I move or bend it feels worse. Thinking about surgery, but am not sure what to do.
1216794 tn?1266506453 Did one of the two surgeons do the hernia repair?
Avatar m tn My family doc also thought it might be scar tissue but my surgeon said he did not use mesh when I had my hernia repair so he is not sure it is scar tissue. The pain is not really sharp but it is painful and so annoying. It hurts when I sit stand or even lie down. Sometimes it feels like a burning sensation and other times like there is a pulling sensation. I have tenderness around these areas and I sometimes feel like what I would call twinges. I am at a loss and so are the doctors.
Avatar n tn I have had terrific pain management all along, so often forget just how bad the pain really is. MY QUESTION NOW IS THIS: Does anyone out there know about these hernias or even just posterior internal hernias. Knowing this now, does not yet change the fact I have trouble eating as anything causes great discomfort and of course the hernia to pop out. I am told the surgery to too major (!!??) Well then...what do I do now? Oh dear.
Avatar f tn I had decompressive surgery 6 years after my symptoms of throbbing pain and migranes began. That was 9 years ago, I was a sophomore in highschool and now as my symptoms have not gotten any worse I still live with 24/7 pain. I was on Neurontin for the past 8 years and then last summer I decided to live without loading myself with pills on a daily basis. The meds were not really helping yet it did slow down the muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn for sure its not hernia...hiatal hernia produce heart burn and pain in stomache not right lower abdomen....other types of hernia are visible at examination..they dont need ct scan for diagnosis. in your case it can be something blocking the ileocecal valve as its a narrow passage connectng small gut with large one. it can be gall stone, worm, hard piece of feces called fecolith or a growth.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had my liver transplant 5 years ago (02/09). Everything's great except for past few months I'm having a very unusual pain on the right side of the scar. The pain comes and goes and at times so sever that it literally buckle my legs and I have to hold on to something or else I will fall down. The pain feels very superficial and my G.I confirms after the CT scan that there's nothing wrong internally.
Avatar n tn My husband had the surgery many years ago and he did just fine. You will have to take it easy for awhile though. Depending on how extensive the hernia is, I would'nt be too surprised if they do the surgery out patient. Of course you'll receive pains meds and the Dr will send you home with a script for pain meds.
Avatar m tn Within an hour after my auto accident I was diagnosed by CT that I had a hernia in my upper stomach where my surgery (cabg) was 5 months prior. No pain or bulge prior to accident. Is this a result of surgery, the accident or both. I don’t understand how a car accident can cause a hernia.
1926359 tn?1331588139 Yesterday I was fortunate enough to attend a pain management seminar at my surgery clinic. I was one of 12 women in a group with a pain psychologist and pain physiotherapist that specializes in pelvic pain. I learned many new coping strategies to keep med use at a minimum while awaiting surgery and would highly recommend this to any that have access. In other news- still no surgery date, and have developed abscess type sores around my rectum ever since my scope 3 weeks ago.
