So, technically, my wife conceived after we had been trying for a few weeks (definitely a shocker and a blessing), but unfortunately, she had a blighted ovum and ended up miscarrying. My question is, I have had a rectractile testicle surgery when I was very young (testicle wouldn't stay down and would go back into the groin occasionally, but always came to the normal position. Mesh was put in to prevent that from happening) and I had a hernia repair surgery.
After an inguinal hernia repair ~1 year ago, I am still experiencing erectile dysfunction and weak ejaculation. No issues whatsoever prior to surgery but issues immediately after. In the surgery report it said they had to sacrifice the genitofemoral and ilioinguinal nerve branches due to severe adhesion to the hernia.
Post-operation I have not since had "morning wood" and have experienced somewhat of a decrease in size (both flaccid and erect).
I made an appointment with a urologist. After having hernia repair surgery one year ago, I am concerned about changes to my body. I'm asking for a thorough checkup and hoping to discuss my concerns. I decided to bypass my GP because I want to speak to someone who is knowledgeable about these specific issues. Am I right in my thinking? What should I say/expect from the urologist?

Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia,varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones.
As there is no swelling or inflammation or redness of the scrotal sacs, so the chances of epidiymitis or orchitis are rare.
My wife has problems with the size of my penis saying it is too short. She states that it is so short that it is very difficult to penetrate. She states that the positions we have to use to penetrate are painful (she has many problems with pain........a compression fracture in her back, a fractured femur and hip a year and a half ago.) I had surgery two years ago for a belly button hernia and am wondering if my surgery has anything to do with this problem. I am also slightly overweight.
t know if the testicular pain is coming from my back herniated disc or from the hernia. My nerologist thinks it is the hernia,although my GP thinks it os the back injury.I am scheduled to have the hernia repaired,hopin it might cure the testicular pain.Any thoughts?I am also constipated these days although do't know if there is any connection.

My husband had the surgery many years ago and he did just fine. You will have to take it easy for awhile though. Depending on how extensive the hernia is, I would'nt be too surprised if they do the surgery out patient. Of course you'll receive pains meds and the Dr will send you home with a script for pain meds.

Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion -- most common in young men between 10 and 20 years old, excessive bicycle riding, varicocele, hernia or kidney or ureteric stones. Considering your son’s symptoms epididymitis or orchitis need to be ruled out. Get an evaluation done from a urologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus. I'd like for a surgeon to just go in and pull the stomach to its proper position and sew up the hole in the diaphram essentially returning everything to its natural order.
Hi Jenny, I have a hiatal hernia, but do not require surgery...I have known about my hernia since I was in my teens. I had a few flares that required meds...but, with proper diet and lifestyle I am able to keep it under control without meds.
I just got my self off meds after being on them 2 yrs....I had flares from 3 diff surgeries....the meds they use to put u under alone can upset a balanced system.
I have already planned the surgery to fix the hernia for next week . 2 days ago I had an ultrasound which showed that I have gallbladder sludge and maybe some very small stones . I never had any pains in the stomach and the only thing that might be a symptoms is some digestive problems . The doctor advised that since I am going to surgery for the hernia I should proceed with the removal of the gallbladder .
I need gallbladder surgery in the near future. I have abdominal meshing and want to know if they can do laproscopic surgery on me or not. ANYONE have my issue?
I have been having bouts of extreme testicular pain in my right testicle for almost 3 years now. I'm a 25 year old male. It started with a dull aching pain in the right testicle near the actual testicle itself. I went to the doctor and got an ultrasound and urinalysis and nothing was found to be wrong, i went on trying to ignore the pain.
I am sorry to hear you have a hernia but at least you finally have answers to the pain you've been experiencing. I have not had a hernia (or don't think that is the cause of my occasional twinges of pain/discomfort) so cannot answer any questions about surgery. Hope all goes well!
Does this mean surgery failed? is hernia back (now they are referring to this as a paraesophageal hernia) The doctors never told us herina might be back so I am wondering when I see x-ray report and it shos Pre-demonstartion of hernia, does that mean there is a new issue or they are seeing repaired hernia?
is it typical that Nissen wrap would slip so soon after surgery?
