7196896 tn?1389128561 Hi, the prognosis or recovery after surgery will depend on the extent of fibrosis or scar tissue in the lungs. How was the lung functioning tests prior to surgery? This should improve post surgery. You will have to discuss about this with your treating doctor, as the surgery done will be planned based on the extent of damage to the lungs. Good luck with his surgery and hope he recovers well. Regards.
Avatar n tn But can find no source for it in the Philippines. Not in Cebu, not in Manila. I have a pharmacy in Canada that can provide it, but it has to be shipped in ice and can take 5 days to arrive. Fed Ex won't take it. Neither will UPS. Have to use Canada Post which "promises" 4 days. But if it gets stalled in customs, it will lose its potency. Can't find in Hong Kong or Singapore either. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn Yes, I think a hernia can go into the scrotum. Hernia pain can also come and go. https://www.urologyhealth.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The common causes for testicular pain are injury, infection and torsion. Injury can cause a tear of the testicular layers or it can cause a hematoma (blood collection). Infection can affect and cause epididymitis or orchitis resulting in pain. Testicular torsion is an emergency as the blood supply may be compromised and needs to be relieved. Sometimes a tumor of the testis can cause pain. Consult your primary care physician for therapy.
Avatar n tn This year in april 1 week before i went for vacation in the philippines , one day i woke up in the morning i saw my left eye different from my right eye like it's not even. When i was in the philippines i went to the first doctor and he said its a "viral infection" and he just gave me drops. I didn't see any changes and then i decided to go to another doctor to get a second opinion and he said he's gonna do a test and see what causes of my eye to bulged.
Avatar m tn If you are not comfortable with the eye physsicians in the Philippines then I would return to Canada immediately and also start working on getting her seen just as soon as she arrives. From the many posts that come from Canada and complain about the extreme delays she cannot afford to wait weeks to months to bee seen. She should be seen immediately upon arrival to canada. If she cannot return then try and get a second opnion at a philippines medical school Dept of Ophthalmology.
Avatar f tn My Gynecologist thinks I have a hernia. I have a CT scheduled for Friday and a follow up on Tuesday to discuss results and the plan. It's looking like, either way, I'm having another surgery. If it's not a hernia and nothing else alarming shows up, they will assume it's scar tissue and likely to a laparscopy to look for and break up scar tissue/adhesions. Anyone out there have a hernia after surgery?
Avatar f tn Would anyone know a dysautonomia specialist in the Philippines or in Asia? I've been confined twice and have had 6 doctors ordering tests for me (cardio, neuro, endo, gastro, pulmo and obgyne) but no one can give me any conclusive diagnosis as to why I've been feeling extremely weak and out of breath with episodes of elevated BP and tachycardia for the last 3 months.
Avatar m tn I can't say for everyone, but my aunt and ex girlfriend both had this surgery. They both did really well with no complications. My aunt is overweight as well but my ex was not. So it really depends on the person. I would say for a hernia it's never a bad idea to have them fixed in most cases. I have had a couple althought they were not in the same area as yours I had them repaired and did fine. Another thing depends on the surgeon.
Avatar m tn You should look at all the past threads in Tagalog and English, which I noticed are the two predominant languages in this forum. Many carriers in the Philippines are rejected for jobs both in the Philippines and especially the ones trying to go abroad to work in other countries. China also discriminates against its own population trying to get jobs. Some multinational companies who have set up shop (e.g. IBM) doesn't test for hbv. http://www.hc2d.co.uk/content.php?

Avatar m tn The CABG area should be located in the area of your sternum. In my opinion, this hernia has nothing to do with the surgery or your car accident.
Avatar n tn I still may need surgery for the umbilical hernia, but the diastasis/separation is no more.
Avatar f tn Thank you very much. Our doctor discussed already the benefits and the risks with surgery. If we won't go for surgery what are the possibilities in the future? As parents we are concern of how is my daughter going to take it in case something bad happens. Despite of her poor vision she does everything that a normal child can do she goes to a regular school and is doing very good, she plays with other kids. In case she lost her vision are there any other surgery that can be done?
Avatar n tn Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus. I'd like for a surgeon to just go in and pull the stomach to its proper position and sew up the hole in the diaphram essentially returning everything to its natural order.
Avatar n tn Hi There, I'm 24,my left testicle seems to hang loosely (much lower than the right side) and feels as if there is no muscular attachment. When I tense the muscles in that area, the right testicle rises, but the left side does not respond. It has been this way for almost 5 years. I've never had an injury or surgery in that area.
Avatar m tn Is it possible that the hernia caused damaged to the spermatic cord, that resulted in a variocele, or something else? Some help/advice could really give me a peace of mind.
Avatar n tn THESE ARE MY SYMPTOMS, CHEST PAINS, CANT LAY FLAT, I SLEEP WITH ABOUT 4 PILLOWS, I JUMP UP IN THE MIDDLE O THE NIGHT TO THROW UP WITH BURNING IN THE THROAT, EARS ETC...I SPIT MUCUS UP FOR HOURS AFTER THROWING UP AND BURNING...NON OF MY FOOD FEELS AS IF IT DIGEST....IT FEELS AS IF IT SITS IN MY CHEST, AS WELL WHEN I DRINK WATER IT FEELS NOT TO GO DOWN....I AM MISERABLE...AS WELL I HAVE TAKEN MANY TEST....ALL RESULT IN GERDS..
Avatar n tn I have an umbilical hernia, which is where the muscles tore loose in the middle of my tummy and the bowel pushed out in that opening a little bit. It just made a lump where my belly button is, very unattractive, but the pain went away after the muscles healed up, and I have no digestive problems from that hernia, even tho the bulge is still there.
Avatar n tn I had a hernia operation years back it's not bad. The hernia was painful not the surgery.
Avatar m tn I had laparoscopic surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. After 4 months, the hernia returned, and so I had a second repair surgery by incision. Now, 10 months after the second operation, I'm having some odd "tearing" pains and tenderness under the incision site, and down toward my groin. I'm trying to understand the geometry of the two repairs.
Avatar n tn If factors like straining activities, constipation etc persist, then they enlarge faster. Surgery is the treatment opted for when the size is large and hernia is symptomatic. Having said that, I would also say that the earlier it is repaired, the better it is. There are belts available for umbilical and paraumbilical hernias which you can wear to minimize pressure on the hernia. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Has anyone gotten the bubbly gurgling feeling in their stomach after eating or drinking anything? I'm wondering what is causing this. I already have plans to have my gb removed due to stones, but I am asking because the surgeon and other docs feel there is something more going on, as my labs and symptoms/location of pain seem to indicate. Pancreas is likely involved and I do have a hiatal hernia. White blood cells & pancreatic enzymes are elevated.
Avatar m tn And when I wake up in the morning, a small flash appears instantly (in the corner again) in a split-second. But when I stood up and went about my daily activities they didn't return. Am I being paranoid? Is it a sign of eye stress or is there a much sinister problem? Please help. Thank you.
Avatar f tn ve developed a hiatel hernia since the surgery and my reflux is worse than before the surgery. I did not have a hiatel hernia before the tif procedure. He wants me to undergo the Nissen Fundoplication now. Has anyone else had issues like this after the TIF procedure? I'm only 23, I'm 5'7'' and I weigh 135 pounds so he told me before I was the ideal candidate for this procedure.
