Avatar n tn after surger, Stomache, hematoma, blood clot, blood, Hernia, surgery How serious and what medical steps can be taken to resolve this issue? My mom has had 3 surgeries in the past month: 1. Appendicitis, 2. Hernia that grew in the umbilical area and became the size of a cantaloupe protruding out of her stomache, 3. Gallbladder removal and hematoma removal.
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery 7 1/2 wks ago cannot believe the pain i have had. It was a spagelian hernia and I am a female. After surgery my incision & other private parts swelled up the size of a cantelope and turned black & blue , so pain full couldn't walk. bruising and swollen from upper thighs to belly button and around both sides. Said it's a hematoma. Used mesh but that's all I really know.
Avatar n tn After I had open inguinal hernia surgery the left side under the incision became numb and is still part numb after two weeks. But the left testicle has become enlarged has not gone down. Could their be something gonig on other than post op swelling?
Avatar f tn it is probably an inguinal hernia if there is a protruding lump...this can only be repaired with surgery but the surgery is very minor and you can go home the same day...
Avatar m tn I however got a staph infection of my left testicle the one that I had had surgery for to remove the hematoma. I ended up having an emergency orchiectomy to get a necrotic left testicle removed. Due to the fact that I had many infections the function of the right was impared as well and I'm now using monthly testosterone shots which I inject myself with. With my right testicle not having descended untill the age of 13 did not have any impact on my fertility. My wife and I have 3 children.
Avatar f tn ) The incision has healed well however right after surgery I had this bulge over the incision when I would stand. It has gotten a bit smaller but the more I stand it gets bigger and the pain feel like what a bruise feels like. The bulge goes away when I lay down. It is uncomfortable when I bend my knees up or try to bend over, other than that I feel really well. A little sore still.
Avatar m tn I had surgery for an inigual hernia on my right side ,open surgery. on january of 2007, soon after the surgery i started getting pain in my right testicle and severe cramping in my stomach area and extreme pain. I have seen 2 surgeons since the first surgery, the first surgeon thought it might be caused by the inigual nerve. On january 2008 i had surgery to have the nerve cut. It did not help and the pain in my testicle and groin area, as well as my abdomain has been getting worse.
1322711 tn?1278415855 I had gone to my doctor who sent me to ER thinking it was a hematoma from the surgery, tumor, or hernia. I had a CT scan done in ER and it showed up clean. Next step was my OBGYN who did an ultrasound. That came back clean. I was then sent to a GI doctor who did a colonoscopy and that also came back clean. I then went to a laparoscopy specialist who did not find anything either. I finally went to a general surgeon who also found nothing.
Avatar n tn Like if a vessel bled at surgery a clot or hematoma can form. Then if it is a hernia of bowel from above it can appear in this location. Go to the doctor and have this sorted out if there is any question. It depends on the surgery, but this is a weak place in the system and many things present here. A loop of bowel slipping down into this space needs to be examined as it can twist or turn as it drops down and is pushed through a small opening.
Avatar f tn Has anyone gone through an incisional hernia from a laparotomy? If a small one forms, does it progress fairly rapidly to a full-blown one with a noticeable bulge produced? Or can small, visibly undetectable ones maybe go away on their own? Before my surgery to remove my two ovarian cysts, my doc said that with my "bikini cut" (horizontal) incision, it reduces the chances of an incisional hernia greatly, compared to an up-and-down vertical incision.
849683 tn?1239013686 It is possible that post surgery or may be it was there from before, you developed a hiatal hernia. This results in stomach herniating into chest cavity which can cause this pain once the food distends the stomach. Another possibility is an abscess or hematoma post surgery that causes irritation to the diaphragm when a distended stomach pushes it close to it. It could also be a leaking peptic ulcer. Do go back to your surgeon. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Call the surgeon who did the surgery and tell him you seem to have an infection or hernia going on. He will want to see you or see a partner see you tonight.
Avatar f tn There was a positive diagnose for pre cancer cells and cancer cells. I am holding off on subsequent surgery to clean the margins until the hematoma resolves itself. This is aganist the advice of my doctor. My reasoning is that it would be a cleaner surgery without the hematoma. Any feedback would be appreciated. 677876 tn?1236551967 I am new to this forum. I have just had my second surgery for thyroid cancer and have a seroma. I have had to had it drained 3 times which is more of an nusaince than anything else. My doctor seemed to think I did this to myself by doing too much to soon. I didn't do anything but sit on a couch and knit. I think the problem is he should have put a drain in. He took out 36 lymph nodes on the right side of my neck.
Avatar n tn I had a recent hernia repair with a biological mesh to replace a synthetic mesh that had become infected. Due to complications, I think a harsh reaction of my body to the biological mesh (although the doctors won't admit it), my left testicle has lost blood supply and died. It is extremely swollen to about the size of a baseball and it is very painful. A urologist and the surgeon both recommended to leave the testicle alone and not do another surgery and introduce more trauma.
Avatar n tn Some other complications associated with surgery are swelling of the brain, infection, seizures, memory loss, headache, difficulty concentrating, and chronic Subdural hematoma. In some of the cases, a hematoma may recur following surgery. Your brother may be experiencing difficulty concentrating and memory loss because of the surgery. Please consult a neurologist and let him know about the symptoms. Please arrange for a psychotherapist for your brother.
Avatar n tn This time the locum sent me back to the surgeon who had done the procedure. Once there I was brought into surgery right away to remove a hematoma of the left hemi-scrotum. I remained in hospital for about 5 days untill the scrotum was properly drained. For the next year or so, the left testicle seemed fixed in the scrotum not allowing the testicle to move freely as before. There also was a small hole in the scrotum that never healed.
1875160 tn?1330609662 s been complaining about throbing pain he says it feels as if some one is slamming them hard . Could it be a hernia or worst? Comments please.
Avatar m tn Swelling of the scrotal sac may suggest an underlying varicocele, hydrocele , hematoma and hernia. These have to be excluded. Was a scrotal ultrasound done ? Any history of infections in the urinary tract or trauma to the area?
