Avatar n tn The heart issue in my opinion is far more dangerous than the hernia problem, unless the intestine is already pinched. I agree with Ed. Also, the hernia surgery will put additional strain on an obviously weakened heart.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if it is possible my naval and penis blood supply is one in the same and potentially my overweight and hernia have restricted blood flow to my penis. If possible, would it then also be possible to install a stent to reopen the artery and replenish blood flow to my penis?

Avatar f tn after my boyfriend had hernia surgery the Dr used mesh to cover the hole there is pinching and pulling on the left side where the hernia was, his surgery was July 29th, he still sleeps on the couch This discussion is related to Hernia complications.
Avatar n tn Also, surgery (especially radical prostate and bladder surgery for cancer) can injure nerves and arteries near the penis, causing ED. Injury to the penis, spinal cord, prostate, bladder, and pelvis can lead to ED by harming nerves, smooth muscles, arteries, and fibrous tissues of the corpora cavernosa. In addition, many common medicines—blood pressure drugs, antihistamines, antidepressants, tranquilizers, appetite suppressants, and cimetidine (an ulcer drug)—can produce ED as a side effect.
Avatar m tn My first thought was a hernia. How long since your last BM?
Avatar m tn pain in the lower back, buttock and legs (non hernia), genital pain or numbness, rectal pain, incontinence (anal or urine), constipation, overactive bowels, Erectile Dysfunction, Ejaculation problems, and many other problems. You don't need to have all of the PNE symptoms to be suffering of PNE, it all depends on where or how severe the Pudendal Nerve is entrapped. I now have light form of PNE that started 2 years ago at the age of 35.
1166907 tn?1263101648 I have had hernia surgery back in 2006 And been in chronic pain I found a link on YouTube that might have some hope for me and hopefully you guys to i have not had the surgery http://youtu.be/Y7jEhwJL_VY http://youtu.
1199621 tn?1265359349 Have the hernia repaired and then exercise. My husband had a hernia and went regularly to the gym with the thought of reducing it. I had a fit and told him he would make the hernia worse. It did, and he was hospitalized for a major repair. I don't know if it works the same with an umbilical hernia, but common sense tells me that you should first consult a doctor.
Avatar f tn The results came back “no obvious hiatal hernia”, even though the endoscopy showed one and the upper GI series from 6 years ago did too. Since the recent upper GI series said “no obvious hiatal hernia” my gastroenterologist said she doesn’t believe my GERD is caused by hiatal hernia. I went to a surgeon who specializes in repairing hiatal hernias for another opinion. He told me that he believes my GERD is caused by hiatal hernia and I should get surgery to fix it.
Avatar m tn My boyfriend had hernia surgery over 2 years ago, since the surgery he has a lot of pain during and after sex. It is to the point he doesn't want to get off, because that is when it hurts the worst. Is there something he can do to correct this problem.
Avatar f tn t be too bad, my husband just had surgery for an inguinal hernia two weeks ago and he is back to work and everything already....wish you luck, congrats on the pregnancy.
5829074 tn?1375034908 One other - possibly unrelated to this pain - is that I have an inguinal hernia. Apparently this happened 6 months prior to the surgery and went undiagnosed, as I thought it (the bulge) was just related to my suprapubic catheter. I never had scrotal/testicle pain until after the surgery though. I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I had a double hernia surger (lower abdomen & between my ribs) both on top of old scars. Now, 8 months later, I have had an Ultrasound, CT, MRCP all indicating Chronic Pancretitis. I am scheduled for an ERCP. I am not nor have been a drinker and I have had no trauma to my abdomen (except the hernia surgery. I don't feel as if I fully recovered from the hernia surgery. Could a hernia surgery or the scar tissue from that lead to pancretitis or dammage to my pancrease?
Avatar n tn She had her f/u with her cardiologist yesterday and was diagnosed with PVCs. She was put on Metoprolol, and told to go to the ED if she had an episode that lasted more than 30 seconds. There isn't much material easily accessible about the correlation, and the effect on her overall prognosis. She found an article that lumped A-fib, V-fib, PVCs all together, and then gave a 33-month prognosis of 50%, without explaining the factors related to that.
Avatar m tn Hi ive had an hernia before, i was 6 year old and was going swimming with my school and got changed and looked down and noticed this big lunp at the bottom of my stomach, i went home and my mam called a doctor n they said she needs surgery asap.., i had to have surgery on my ovarie as it had collapsed.. I had no pain or anything but they can be serious.. Keep me posted!
Avatar n tn My husband had the surgery many years ago and he did just fine. You will have to take it easy for awhile though. Depending on how extensive the hernia is, I would'nt be too surprised if they do the surgery out patient. Of course you'll receive pains meds and the Dr will send you home with a script for pain meds.
Avatar m tn After an inguinal hernia repair ~1 year ago, I am still experiencing erectile dysfunction and weak ejaculation. No issues whatsoever prior to surgery but issues immediately after. In the surgery report it said they had to sacrifice the genitofemoral and ilioinguinal nerve branches due to severe adhesion to the hernia. Post-operation I have not since had "morning wood" and have experienced somewhat of a decrease in size (both flaccid and erect).
Avatar n tn The surgeon that did the repair recently did ultra sound and CT and said the hernia was slight again and the gall bladder distended and a kidney cyst, Other docs have seen the cyst as well. Several docs have told me that none of these things really need attention or are causing my symptoms. I m convinced something is wrong and worried it will turn into an emergency if I don't do something.
Avatar m tn Cherie sorry about the misinformation, my wife has both a hernia and fibroids however only the fibroids are in the uterus the hernia is not in the uterus it is a normal hernia
Avatar n tn My main complaint is the anxiety feeling this thing causes in the chest. It raises my BP, causes panic attacks, and conspipation. The hernia feels alot better if i get a complete bowel movement first thing in the morning. Anyway my question is has anyone had a surgery other than the nissen fundo to repair the hernia. I am interested in having mine fixed but do NOT want my stomach wrapped around my esophagus.
Avatar n tn I had a few umbilicar hernia operations, the last surgery a mesh was placed in my stomic. Years later I noticed my stomic is geting larger and larger and it is very hard, I was told i need two doctors one for the hernia and the other for the diastasis abd wall. My questions are - 1 would my insurance pay? 2- Do you know of a good Doctor. - Is it a diffacult operation?
Avatar n tn I had a large hematoma right after surgery and the tenderness and pain took several weeks before they went away.... anyways, sometimes i feel a similar symptom to when I was having gallbladder attacks... the attacks happened in the middle of my abdomen where my stomach is... as a matter of fact when I first began going to the docs about the pain in my third trimester they just told me to take pepcid. This is not a burning sensation.. it's just umcomfortable....
Avatar f tn Any hernia above this ligament is an inguinal hernia and the ones below are referred to as femoral hernias. If the hernia is reducible and if there is no inflammation or strangulation of the bowel, surgery is usually elective. If the above symptoms are there, then an emergency surgery may be mandatory. If at the ER they have ruled out complications due to the hernia, the pain could be due to other causes like renal colic or pelvic inflammatory diseases. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
