Avatar f tn The only thing you have to worry about is not taking Vitamin K especially because it causes blood clotting while on aggrenox. The other natural blood thinners include vitamin E, garlic, onions, and vitamin C because they also thin blood. That's why doctors tell you not to take these vitamins before an operation. My mother had a stroke about 5 months ago and we are considering opening the blood thinning aggrenox capsules and giving her half the dosages with applesause.

Avatar n tn Dietary supplements may help some type 2 diabetics, but in the case of the type 1 diabetic, dietary changes cannot fix the root problem, which is that the body's autoimmune system has damaged the pancreas. If the pancreas can no longer produce insulin, there is nothing that can be eaten that will help lower the glucose levels, for ONLY INSULIN can do that. Consistent glucose levels happen when the amount of insulin injected is a good match for the food/drink ingested.
Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia, I would like to know which vitamins I should use for this desease and what would me help me get more energy. Fatigue is part of Fibro.
Avatar m tn Well, I believe that vitamins, minerals, herbs, are ALL important, they need to be taken on a daily basis for them to really be effective however. You need good, reliable, name brands, the ones from most drug stores like Centrum are basically useless and do not have much of the so-called product in them, they are mainly fillers. I take mine from companies such as "Solar ray" "Thorne" "Blue Bonnet" Eclectic Institute" "Standard Processing Labs" etc.

692231 tn?1227496103 The vet took blood and tested her for Valley Fever and wanted to see what else might be in her. The test came back with elevated liver or pancreas enzymes, negative on the Valley Fever. She suggested a 2 hour car ride to do a sonogram. Jasmine hates riding in the car. I asked why and the vet said to check out where the mass was and how big it was. I asked her if she checked her for a mass when she expressed her glands and she said no.

975931 tn?1250987653 The doctor that we are seeing now, treats with herbs and vitamins. I took my youngest son to him, because he has chronic Lyme. The doctor did some tests on him, and his yeast level came back very high. So, the doc put him on some vitamins and herbs, and now he is vomiting from them. I have low DHEA levels, and other conditions. The doc put me on a ton of Vitamins and herbs, which cost me over $500.00! In all, for the 3 of us, it cost me almost $900.00!
163305 tn?1333668571 John’s wort and ginseng pills. Four out of five of the products tested did not include any of the herbs listed on their labels. Even worse, hidden ingredients and contaminants could be dangerous to people with allergies to those substances. That such well-known brands should be found to be fraudulent suggests that the problem infects the entire industry.
Avatar f tn If you are taking Lantis it is because you have diabetes and your pancreas doesn't function normally. Lantis is needed to regulate diabetes and do the job of that organ.
Avatar f tn As for the herbs mentioned above as being good for the liver, different herbs do different things and the availability of herbs has to be taken into consideration. For digestion problems, the better liver herbs are artichoke, turmeric, ginger, burdock and yellowdock, and there are many formulas that help support the liver. But milk thistle is more for cleansing the liver and shouldn't be taken for long periods of time.
Avatar n tn I have used herbs and vitamins for years now. I am very healthy. My fibrosure numbers are perfect. I don't believe this forum supports the natural way, I do until something less harsh comes along. ANA598 is worth watching if you have the time. I do and I am. No iterferon nor ribavirin is what I am looking for.
Avatar f tn I have had aloy of trouble and lost two children this year, so I am ready to try and takr some control with a new (healthier) diet, excercise, acupuncture, and prenatal vitamins and chinese fertility herbs. Praying it works and crossing my fingers for my rainbow baby!
211043 tn?1337050701 Do any of you take additional vitamins or herbs on top of your prenatal before your retrieval? Should I double up on my prenatal? It couldn't hurt - right? I mean once you get pregnant my vitamin says to go to 2/day (I'm on a prescription one called Prenate DHA) - so how bad could it be to do it before the retrieval? But I was also thinking of other vitamins or herbs.
Avatar n tn Promote Fertility, Prenatal pills, so that your getting the recommended amount of Folic Acid, and many other vitamins and herbs to help your body regulate. I myself never used any herbs or vitamins, besides the prenatals but that's because my Dr recommended that I start taking prenatal vitamins 3 months before TTC (Trying To Conceive). You can also try using a product called pre-seed found at babyhopes.
Avatar m tn Cooking breaks down most enzymes and benefits you can find in the herbs. If you are taking the herbs for their benefits it is suggested you don't cook them.
Avatar m tn It depends on what you need them for. I am not an advocate of taking handfuls of vitamins. I take a few herbs and vitamins. I take an Essential Enzyme with each meal. It helps you properly digest your food. I also take Astragalus, it is a Chinese herb helps boost your immune system. A good Pro-biotic is an excellent think to take, keeps good bacteria going in your system. I also like Grapefruit Seed Extract, you take this when you feel a cold or flu coming on.
