Avatar f tn Our 6 yo son has had trouble growing in height and weight since he was 6 months old. All his blood tests are normal. He is below the 3rd percentile growth curve in height and weight. He was a vaginal delivery and not premature. I’m wondering if any of you had a child like this and whether that child ended up growing well later on in his or her teenage years. Thanks very much!
Avatar f tn Without knowing your age and height and weight (and current mendical condition) I would advise that you spend a week writing down everything you eat and the calorific value. And buy a pedometer and wear it all day and write down your daily steps taken. After this week of fact finding, determine to improve each day, your calorie intake should be around 1500-2000 depending on your height, weight and age and you should be finally aiming for 10,000 steps a day.
908622 tn?1243371353 We are all caring people on this site and we have a lot of support and motivation to share. I just took a quick look at a height/weight chart and you are not overweight. Recommended weight for someone 5'2" is 108-145. If you get a variety of exercise to tone your muscles, I'm sure you would feel better about yourself. You are welcome to post here any time you want and we will try to answer you as soon as we can.
Avatar n tn I have been going through tests to rule out Marfan Syndrome for three years now and still do not have a definitive answer. I have had 2 CT scans, 6 echocardiograms(at rest and stress), a 24 hour holter, nucleur stress test and just last week an aortogram(angiogram). The MRA and then the aortogram were ordered by my doctor because he noticed what appeared to be a "bulge" on my aortic arch. The MRA did not confirm the bulge and neither did the aortogram.
Avatar m tn There are several of us on here who have a similar eye complaint: seeing a bright flash, like the afterimage of a flash bulb, when we blink, and sometimes, on upgaze. This is transient symptom for most of us, lasting anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. When the "spot" in our visual field passes over a dark background, the spot appears light. When the spot passes over a light background, it appears dark.
Avatar n tn I'm a 28 year old average height, average weight, healthy female. I am a non smoker, and haven't touched marajuanna in 8 years. I have never used a recreational drug. I have a desk job where I work at a computer for 8+ hrs a day. Low stress. I had my first episode of "kaleidoscope vision" this evening and panicked until I read through this thread. I had played a high intensity game of volleyball this evening in a very hot, humid and very bright gymnasium.
Avatar n tn Both an event monitor and a PET scan are good ideas to try. Ask you doctor for an EKG to check the electrical status of your heart. The pain you are experiencing at high heart rates is caused by a lack of oxygen. The heart is racing to the point that it's need for oxygen is greater than the supply and you get pain. When you slow down the oxygen levels rise and the pain goes away.
Avatar n tn I think a blood clot would mean that it would happen for longer and that it would cause visual effects and pain. Its strange that theres nothing visually wrong with my calf when it happens, it doesnt even feel as hot on the surface as it does on the inside! Very strange indeed. I havent been to see the doctor....maybe i should.
147426 tn?1317269232 The ways that MS can show up are truly infinite. It is true that some symptoms are more common (like visual symptoms, dizziness, numbness and tingling, weakness), but to think that it progresses in a specific manner is so outrageous as to show that this doctor HAS NO CLUE what MS looks like and is not only icapable of diagnosing it, but also of treating it. Can we all say "Tiddly Winks" in unison? 21) MS lesions are always "classic" in appearance and location.
Avatar n tn On the other hand, there are a couple of things bothering me... I've always had problems with weight and I gain weight very easily. However, in the past few months, my eating habits are much healthier and I feel as if I'm eating less. Even so, I gained about 8 pounds in 3 months (since I started taking it). So I was wondering if it could be it? I mean, I didn't expect to lose 8 pounds, but by what I'm eating and exercising I should have lost 1 or 2, no more than keeping the weight, but....
Avatar n tn If I am able to get an erection it doesn't last long. Visual stimuli has no effect, I have to use my hand and that doesn't work very well. When flacid, my penis is smaller now. The skin feels different--less sensitive. I see veins where I couldn't see any before. When I walk around, it feels like I don't even have a penis anymore. It feels like nothing is there. As a result of this I have lost my girlfriend, my confidence in life, and I think I am losing my mind. Oral drugs don't help.
Avatar n tn As I am thin it was very hard for me to put on weight .
Avatar n tn ) I am also trying to lose some weight and excersize as I've seen some articles saying that weight plays a role in the issues. I figured, it cant hurt to try to lose weight to see if it helps. Oh yeah and they also thought it might be sleep apnea, so I had a sleep test which said that I have a mild case. Guess what? Losing weight helps eliminate that issue too. Oh well I keep plodding on. I'll write if I get any determination.
Avatar n tn You can experience shaking of the hands, visual disturbances, headaches, stomach aches, stitches in the sides, exhaustion, low grade temps and other unpleasant symptoms. If this is the case, try drinking a fluid that has minerals in it like Cytomax. Make sure you take in salt, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Take several breaks to drink sips (not gulps) of fluid as you jog around. Wear a hat to protect from the heat of the sun, and keep your head cool.
211940 tn?1267884866 At night it is on a scale of 1-10 it is like off the chart around 20 and waking me several times a night. I'm a side sleeper who can't now and even on my back if my arms are moved just right it's excruciating. I can't put on my bra or take it off by just reaching behind myself. I have trouble dressing myself; sometimes I can't hold a glass without the pain. I can no longer pick my 17 month old grand daughter up. I can only lift my arms sideways up so far or straight up or behind me.
Avatar n tn I think my subconscious looks at those sensations to help decide what the visual (and emotional) perspective in my view of the world around me should be. Of course my jaw can modify those sensations, too, and I often find myself tensing my jaw or holding it in odd positions to adjust how my hyoid feels. Visual stress and tension in my neck muscles also feed into this intersection, and any of them can seemingly be exchanged for any other.
Avatar n tn With a brain tumor you would have extreme symptoms like vomiting, extreme loss of weight, inability to move one side of your face etc. But like I said if it will make you feel better just ask him and get it done.
Avatar n tn I start masturbated since I m 19 and usually use porn as a form of visual stimiulation. I have observed that I have lost the ability to maintain erect during intercource or I only get weak erection. My question is: does masturbation in association with porn will "exhaust" my interest towards sex and create a negative impact on my ability to get aroused in real sex? I m worried cause I think I m still young to have physical cause for ED. Any thought?
Avatar f tn I actually was up to working out 6 days a week, and doing heavy cardio on top of weight training. At the moment, I dont think I'll be able to work a year from now, at least a full 50-60 hour work week, if I continue to decline as rapidly as I have been.
Avatar n tn I've had exactly what you describe for the last 2 years - it's better I believe because of a regiman I've adopted. First of all I've lost weight - that has helped with pressure on area due to sitting - no matter how loose your pants and underwear are, I believe the pressure is a factor. Second, I've been using this cream called FreeDerm for the past two months. Since I've been using that, I haven't woken up between 2 and 3 AM EVERY SINGLE DAY to itch for an hour before I can go back to bed.
