That's quite irregular... I agree that she should talk to a gynecologist. Has she recently lost weight or become more physically active? Low levels of body fat can cause periods to stop. It's normal for teenagers to have irregular periods at times, but that's a fairly long gap.

I'm pretty embarrassed to be talking about it but , i don't think its healthy.This is my second period after 13 days of startng my first one and my "flow" is super heavy and i'm not overweight or anything so i dont think it should be happening like that. It's like huge globs and really dark, I've had to change 4 times already and thats more that i change in a day usually.

Like another comment said, birth control can help with long or heavy periods. It has been prescribed by many doctors for those specific reasons.

I had a c section 20 mos ago. since then my periods have been really heavy and there is always a day I seem to gush blood. My vagina has bled once before. It wasn't a heavy flow or anything. Blood just showed up in my underwear for about 2-3 days. I thought it was my period or something. dont sweat it, mine did the same thing. did you recently start having periods? because almost everybody is irregular when you first start. its normal. if you notice that after a while its still not right then you should seek a doctors advice.

I am 53 years old. I have always had heavy periods, but lately my periods have lasted a long time, sometimes two weeks or more, and they become very heavy with lots of clotting. I have to wear two super plus tampons at a time and a pantiliner because they always leak. I hate it! What should I do? What can be done to make this more tolerable or stop altogether?

Hi. there is a new fad/craze at my teenagers high school which involves them forcing themselves to literally pass out and fall to the ground unconscious, they do this by crouching themselves into a certain position and change there breathing somehow . Apart from the obvious possibilty of banging there heads as they hit the ground can this fad/craze cause any long term damage.

Im 19 and have always had pretty regular periods... its usually moderately heavy the first 2 days and then starts to get lighter till the 5th day. i usually have cramps on the first 2 days that are manageable with a couple tylenol.

Monday the 6th I started what I would say was a very light dark brown period, buy Tuesday it was gone, and was only visable when I wiped which ended Thursday, my periods normally last 5 days and heavy and not Dark brown( can only describe as a pooh like colour), im also 4/5 days early which is another mad one, ok I know it cannot be IB but I just wanted to no if any as had this happen to them.

Hi there. The above information is a bit inaccurate. It is not abnormal to have heavy periods especially on the first day of your period in which you change your pad every two hours. That is completely normal. check with your doctor for reassurance.
