Common Questions and Answers about Heavy periods flooding

period

53833 tn?1234996629 This is at age 46 after a lifetime of regular, heavy flow, intensely crampy but predictable periods lasting 5 to 7 days every 28 days, which last year turned into periods lasting 8 to 10 days with extremely heavy flooding. When will there be an end to this madness? It seems like I get about 3 days a month where I feel like my normal self, then it all starts again.

Avatar f tn over the past 2 years I have gained 15 pounds despite increased exercise and have had flooding periods lasting 7 to 10 days with large clots the size of raw eggs; and for the past 3 cycles my periods are now coming 18 to 20 days apart with the worst cramping I have ever experienced but thankfully now only lasting 5 days. My emotions range from apathy to jittery anxiety, and I have had dizziness and actual vertigo intermittently for the past 3 months.
Avatar f tn They have been very heavy to and i used to never have clots well today i thought my period was over because the bleeding was gone since yesterday but to my surprise i sat down to use the restroom and blood poured out of me and i passed a clot the size of the palm of your hand! This same thing happend to me not last month but the month before i thought it stopped than i passed one the size of an egg, what is going on can anyone tell me a friend of mine says its premenepause?
768251 tn?1256734583 I began having very lengthy periods and heavy flooding that lasted up tp 3 weeks. Before that, my periods were always normal and on time. I was given provera to stop the bleeding and it worked perfectly, as well as made me feel great mood-wise! I have been tested in every way to rule out any conditions or problems that would cause my periods to be so heavy and last for so long. But nothing has resulted from them.
1416390 tn?1333901604 I had a c section 20 mos ago. since then my periods have been really heavy and there is always a day I seem to gush blood. Well- my period came a week early this month and last night I seemed to have passed a lot of blood- that seemed really red. Now that I am up it does not seem to be flowing so strong. I don't have any pain- slight cramping. I am not sure whether I should go to the ER or not- hate to go if it is just my period! Just seems odd there was so, so much.
Avatar f tn 30 p.m., with heavy rainfall causing flooding and traffic jams on are roads and highways. I-43 at Good Hope Road is closed in both directions because of flooding, and U.S. Highway 45 is closed in both directions at Hampton Ave. Streets surrounding the Bradley Center and the U.S. Cellular Arena were under nearly a foot of water at 6:45 p.m. Oakland Ave.
Avatar f tn dont sweat it, mine did the same thing. did you recently start having periods? because almost everybody is irregular when you first start. its normal. if you notice that after a while its still not right then you should seek a doctors advice.

12205224 tn?1424027156 I am 53 years old. I have always had heavy periods, but lately my periods have lasted a long time, sometimes two weeks or more, and they become very heavy with lots of clotting. I have to wear two super plus tampons at a time and a pantiliner because they always leak. I hate it! What should I do? What can be done to make this more tolerable or stop altogether?
Avatar m tn Since then I have had 3 heavy periods, with cramping (by heavy I mean flooding, I can barely control it!!) I have had the most normal, light cycles until now. Id never really had cramps but now I do and my emotions are a mess! I have vaginal dryness, heart palpitations, insomnia and the worst unexplained anxiety. :( Every time I google my symptoms premature ovarian failure, perimenapause, and menapause are the primary results of the search. I feel devastated.
Avatar f tn I am 41 and have had very heavy periods for many years. I can go though a super tampon and a pad in an hour. I told my Dr an she wasn't concerned but I think it's making me very tired. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Heard about all the flooding, if possible please let us know you are ok. Worried about you all! stay safe!
5633047 tn?1371909510 ) periods can happen during pregnancy , as well as woman not noticing the signs that they were pregnant the whole time . But if the blood is red and semi on the heavy side it needs to be mentioned and looked at by a doctor hun .
Avatar f tn Im 19 and have always had pretty regular periods... its usually moderately heavy the first 2 days and then starts to get lighter till the 5th day. i usually have cramps on the first 2 days that are manageable with a couple tylenol.
Avatar f tn It really depends on how heavy the bleeding is, and how constant. First, try lying down and drinking a lot of water, to see if that will calm the bleeding. If the uterus is contracting, that can help. That said, if you begin to lose as much as a maxipad per hour, or "flooding" that much when you stand up, then you should go to the ER. It could be a miscarriage.
Avatar f tn i feel my breasts have become heavy from past few days and i feel uncomfortable because of the pain....is it a symptom of pregnancy??
