Doctors are only supposed to have you do that if your
periods are extremely painful, extremely
heavy, or if you have endometriosis. You should be having them every month because your body is not made to withstand having them suppressed. (I am 16 and have endometriosis and I have had to get mine suppressed to only having two a year since I get put in the hospital with to much blood loss and pain.) Go back to the gyno and tell him/her what you experienced and ask for a different option.
