Heat wave wood stove fan

Common Questions and Answers about Heat wave wood stove fan

heat

Avatar n tn During the winter my father heats the house with a wood stove. knowing what I know about the dangers of smoking (even though I still smoke outside) I began to wonder, with winter weather already going on in my neck of the woods, if the smoke from the wood stove might be as dangerous for his health as the smoke from my Marlboro. I've been doing some research about wood burning stoves and people with heart conditions.
Avatar f tn It ocures in the end of Feb and lasts through June. We use a wood stove in the winter. Could this be related to weather or an allergy of some sort? Desperate for an answer. My body just can't sustain this as I get older. Numerous med. testing had revealed nothing. Thanks much Any suggestions welcome. Ablation done many years ago worked and the etiology of this is diferent.
4387114 tn?1355864612 Don't get me wrong, I enjoy modern conveniences like heat, but my goodness! We have a wood stove, that I typically keep between 68 & 70° F. Comfy when preggo with all this extra blood and fluids. My mother, on the other hand, likes to feed the fire. All day. It is now 78°. I am in shorts and a tank top, have a fan on me, and am still roasting! In Michigan, in December, I should not sweat! It is 28° outside. I may just put on pants and go for a walk.
1084398 tn?1277304810 t know about it, but never really had the heat issues before. This winter was horrible if we had the wood stove on (Major dizziness and not feeling like I had a clear head.) The winter previous and so on, I loved having the heat from the stove and didn't mind if it was 90 degrees! Loved every minute of it. Now, I can't stand it. Does anyone else feel the same way?
561705 tn?1234546159 t help or the fact that we primarily heat the house with a wood stove. I will be careful to increase my water intake or those 3 days.
Avatar f tn We have an indoor wood stove. And we had it last year also. But this year it seems to bother me so much. I have gotten one really bad sinus infection because it was so dry in our house. And I finally got that taken care of. And I also bought humidifiers. Well now I'm getting this irritating cough. It drives me nuts. And my eyes burn sometimes. I am the only one that it seems to bother. Does anyone else have this issue.
1747881 tn?1546175878 I plan to build a cabin in Alaska someday, and I plan to heat it with a wood stove, fully aware that doing so might sometimes subject me to higher levels of particulate pollution. I say it’s worth the risk.) The problem with the EPA bullying the people of Fairbanks about their wood stoves is that the federal government thinks this is a problem that can be solved. What would the EPA have Alaskans do, use solar panels to heat their homes in winter?
Avatar f tn I just brought a rescued chi-pom, and the lady who had him says she had a wood stove in her house with very dry heat. This little 4month old dog is going crazy with itchy skin (no fleas, I checked). He has dandruff and is scratching constantly. Any suggestions?

Avatar f tn So who all is experiencing a heat wave where they live, and who has felt like complete crap since it started?
Avatar f tn No heat wave this year but last year it was horrible, and its very dangerous to get a heat stroke, but in Montreal they have a heat wave and humidity its horrible, and that his not a good combination for me because Im allergic to water and my own sweet so I can't do anything :(
492921 tn?1321289896 I haven't had anymore problems with this. Just the first time I did it. I have also heard about the microwave zapping out nutrients. I only heat for 15 seconds on medium heat and it's barely warm. I stir it really well and I have the color changing spoons if it's to hot. So far she's had applesauce, pears, sweet potatoes, bananas, and green beans. She's not a huge fan of green beans yet. I have been meaning to try the avocado.
400099 tn?1282954864 You know how much we MS people love heat, we have a pellet stove and I keep telling my husband he's running it too high. Every night I start getting sick from the heat of the stove. You can't control it like a furnace and I can't seem to make him understand. I start to shake, etc. from the heat from the stove and have to actually go outside into the cold just to regain control. Any suggestions on how to handle this short of throwing the stove out the window?
Avatar f tn Lol yes last winter I was like 9 month pregnant and I was cold and we have wood stove and I went to the stove and lifted my shirt and didn't realize how close to the stove pipe I was and burnt my belly on it. I heard my skin sizzle and every thing. I stepped back and covered my mouth with my hands and cried it was awful.
900662 tn?1469390305 know the feeling, it was 7 above the other morning and we are relying on the electric ($$$) heat as we just disconnected the soapstone wood stove and are trying to hook up the pellet stove ourselves……..took 4 of us to move the soapstone out on the porch! Everyone stay warm! I only let Diesel out long enough to conduct her business and bring her back in so her pads don't get frostbite.. Spring is about 51 days away, so hang on!
Avatar n tn he goes to stores in the winter and hangs out so he can save his heat bill.....he has a wood burning stove and has to fool with it all winter to save gas for heat....his house gets so cold at times.......he always says we will do this or that but never do it would cost money...those dances are only $6.00 per person with free snacks except for the drinks of course. yesterday he said he was wanting fudge but there was none around to buy...
5739386 tn?1378836460 Heat index of 103 in chicago today. We have had a heat wave for 4 days now.
Avatar f tn Air conditioning, fan and not leaving work until after 5.
3156712 tn?1354121665 The same thing happened to me with a nose bleed, I have never had one in my life before being pregnant, and so far I have had three.
Avatar m tn Eventually I ran from my chair and opened all my windows, turned on the stove fan(Which I should have done in the first place) and ran outside to my back porch and began breathing in as much fresh, clean air as I could. I called my mother, a nurse and told her all this, where she instantly wrote me off despite how much of a panic I am and the fact that burnt plastic is bad for you. She hung up on me, and I'm stuck in the house worried sick.
Avatar f tn I guess it all depends on where you live huh? I'm in northern New England and I grew up in a house with only a wood stove... I know how to live cold. 62 is warm enough in the winter, and we don't have an A/C for summer either, so when we have stretches of 85-90 degrees and 85% humidity we turn on fans, turn off lights, and handle it. Climate control isn't something I really bother with... we dress ourselves and our kiddo appropriately for the temperature.
Avatar f tn anybody else dealing with NO air conditioner in this heat?? what should I do, I can't even move around I'm so hotmuch less take a good breath, it's absolutely ridiculous!
