Avatar n tn Hypovolemia (low blood volume) due to diaphoresis (extreme sweating) could cause hypokalemia (low potassium) and hyponatremia (low Sodium). One of the primary S/S (signs and symptoms) of low sodium is confusion which could be felt as being "lightheaded." In the human body, water always follows salt. So if he is sweating out water, then he is sweating out sodium, and needs to replace that sodium loss consistently to avoid light headedness.
Avatar f tn My dr says that I have heat induced hives and put me on 24 Zyrtec and 25mg of Benedryl. It worked for about a month and now I'm breaking out in hives again when I exercise. I haven't had any allergy tests done yet. A fitness friend of mine thinks that I might have a build up of toxins and when i sweat the toxins are being released. I haven't talked with my dr about that yet. Is there any truth to this? I do drink a good bit of regular soda.
Avatar m tn from what i could make of it it was just prickly heat but I have tried all the suggested treatments for prickly heat and it still has not gone away. has been about 7 weeks since i first noticed it. any suggestions as to what this may be or how to more suitably treat it?
Avatar m tn Welcome to our forum. If you're concerned about neurological symptoms, I'd see a neurologist. It could mean anything--pinched nerve, being tired and exhausted from going to school and working lots of hours, arthritis, sleeping on the area wrong, muscle inflammation, etc., etc. What you've mentioned about your jaw sounds like TMJ disorder.
Avatar m tn We wonder if anxiety and stress can be a source for that, since she has experienced some extreme stress and anxiety. Thanks a lot...If you need more information, please ask me.
7356842 tn?1405617843 Yes, there are many non-pharmacological methods to alleviate pain and stress. For stress, you can try deep breathing, yoga, meditation, Reiki and aromatherapy.
771913 tn?1343331188 Yes, all the above. Good to see you are able to engage in activity with your children. That is time worth spent even if it causes some irregular rhythm. If you have some episodes of AFib I hope your doctor has you on at least an aspirin to reduce clot risk. We may have discussed before, forgive me my poor memory please. It is good you are getting a fuller examination through a long-term monitor, that should uncover any and all rhythm episodes...
Avatar m tn I am thinking this way because; every body's heat tolerances is different every body's symptoms are different and all these drugs are trying after the fact to treat, thats 14 billion a year and all the research has us thinking that way. Avatar f tn I have a patchy rash that comes and goes mainly on my torso and chest, but has also appeared on my lower arms and thighs. It doesn't itch, and seems to be made worse by the heat from a shower, or when clothing rubs on the skin. Could this be caused by stress? I have no other illness or symptoms. Thanks in advance.
1323278 tn?1298122488 Thank you so much for your help. I can tell you that the symptoms come and go. I had felt mild 'crawling bugs' inside my legs and rest of the body in the past, but this buzzing is a bit more annoying and different. It is also accompanied by a bit of pain in the neck and the middle of my back... I am just keeping my fingers crossed I didn't get my first 'visible' lesion in the spinal cord :( In any case, the good news is that it is improving.
Avatar n tn Cholinergic urticaria is a subcategory of physical urticaria (aka hives) that is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat. Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise (sometimes called exercise-induced urticaria), heat from the sun (which could also indicate solar urticaria), saunas, hot showers (reaction to water can also indicate water urticaria), spicy foods which may cause an increase in body temperature or even stress due to blushing or anger.

Avatar n tn I think that yes it may be allergies I have my eyes irritating and mine is from plants and gardens, also we have a lot of heat where i live in California.I have treid drops , they dont really work well , itchy scalp can also be allergies I am told .
Avatar f tn I started tx in March of 08 and finished in Aug 09. I could tolerate the sun at first but towards the end of the summer of 08 after 15 minutes in the sun I felt like I was on fire. Summer of 09 I had to stay covered up with any exposure to the sun because the heat felt so intense on my skin and I felt like I was frying even with sunblock. This summer I've made up for it. No problems. Definitely the treatment drugs and once you stop treatment things should go back to normal.
Avatar m tn As a daily replacement amount, 2 grains of Armour is equivalent to about 132 mcg of T4, and is not a huge amount. Your symptoms of constipation, hair loss, and low metabolism are frequently related to hypothyroidism. Although frequently misdiagnosed as hyper, heat intolerance can also be a symptom of hypothyroidism. Note the following section taken from a very long list of hypothyroid symptoms.
Avatar m tn I treat this by primarily identifying the stress trigger and dealing with it as quickly as I can, then with dry heat, cortisone cream and in the most severe cases cortisone tablets like prednisone, and during it's broken stages, with a topical anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial gel. Generally very dry, no matter how much I drink or moisturise, my skin very quickly returns to a sort of papery texture. My hands look about 20 years older than I am.
Avatar n tn I am suffering from excessive heat and sweating problem form last 6 yrs, due to which I am unable to socially mix with people. My face is always wet and I feel very nervous due to it. I use to take 20 cigarettes daily and drink liquor once in two days. I also use to eat more spicy food. I use to work with a team of 200 people in office, but only my face is wet and I feel very hot, even when the temperature is cool around me. Kindly let me know, if any cure is possible.
