Common Questions and Answers about Heat rash symptoms treatment

rash

Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be dermatitis skin, contact dermatitis or heat rash. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful apart from steroid creams. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn I have had a heat rash on my neck, beside the jawline now for 14 years. I have been to a few Dr's who have said "Its just a heat rash, nothing you can do about it". My question, can a heat rash last for this long? Its been in the same place and has never spread. Its definately gets worse in the heat, it itches like crazy.
Avatar n tn heat rash, contact dermatitis, dry skin, infection or folliculitis. Try to use mild soap and refrain from using strong deodorants. If this is folliculitits or inflammation of the hair follicles, this will resolve on its own after a few days. Warm compress may also help. If it persists, it would be best to have this evaluated by your doctor. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I've posted here before, but it was because of my paranoia of treatment failure (pharyngeal gonorrhea). 5 days ago, I developed a mysterious rash on my chest. It was weird because I did not have a rash in the morning. My parents think it's a heat rash because I wore all black, and the sun was out. The rash was kinda stung when I showered the following morning. My risk: I gave oral sex to a man, and I am also a man.
Avatar n tn or is it heat rash? the only other symptoms have been a cold (sore throat and blocked/runny nose) which started around 3/4 days after exposure and which is now dying out... thanks for your time http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/1863/photo0026hm5.jpg http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/3963/photo0025vy5.jpg http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/6729/photo0023pw1.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis ,sweat dermatitis , heat rash, pityriasis versicolor or pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis versicolor is a common skin infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates. A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best as treatment is different for all.
Avatar n tn This causes irritation and results in a red rash developing. The symptoms of prickly heat tend to appear after a few days of being exposed to hot temperatures. The rash is normally made up of tiny spots, or bumps, surrounded by a patch of red skin. Sometimes, the spots look like tiny blisters. The rash can affect any part of your body, but most commonly appears on your:back, abdomen, neck, upper chest, groin, armpits, hands, or feet. Most rashes will disappear naturally after a few days.
Avatar m tn I have settled on triamacolone which I use very sparingly for LP (an outcome of untreated Hepc) and occasionally for golfers vasculitis. I like to walk, even in the heat, and I get a rash on the inside of my calves from it. Afterwards I stay inside for a few days and keep my feet up. Unfortunately, you are one of those people who cannot take that steroid and so the options for treating the rash are slimmer.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, it can be variant of Cholinergic urticaria wherein itching (no rash or hives) is brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat.

Avatar m tn Still today I see few of them showing up and disappearing. When I asked someone they told me, it is due to heat and called heat rash. I stayed in place where it sweats profusely, and really skin burns. But now I am in very cold place, and you know it is already winter. If these are due to heat rash, they should be gone by now. When I asked the girl, she told me there is no such thing for her, if you have doubt get tested. Can anyone analyze and tell me what are my chances of having HIV.
Avatar n tn Cholinergic urticaria is a subcategory of physical urticaria hives) that is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat. Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise , heat from the sun (which could also indicate solar urticaria), saunas, hot showers, spicy foods which may cause an increase in body temperature or even stress due to blushing or anger. Typically the rash occurs on the upper trunk and the arms but can appear on other parts of the body.
Avatar n tn t itchy and looks like slightly raised red dots - a bit like a headless pimple. I put the rash down to the extreme heat and all the sweating I was doing climbing mountains and what not. While passing through Shanghai I decided to let my travel insurance pay for a trip to an English-speaking GP who had a look at the rash and prescribed me 24-hr mometasone furoate cream and advised I wore cotton underwear etc.
Avatar f tn Hi, Cholinergic urticaria is a subcategory of physical urticaria (aka hives) that is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat. Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise , heat from the sun, saunas, hot showers , spicy foods which may cause an increase in body temperature or even stress due to blushing or anger. Some people only have symptoms during the winter months where their body temperature rises when it is unacclimatized to heat.

Avatar n tn Most often, heat rash goes away on its own. Severe forms of heat rash may need medical care, but the best way to relieve symptoms is to cool your skin and prevent sweating. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort.
Avatar n tn hives are itchy irregular raise patches of redness and heat can heighten an allergic reaction if your son has been out in the heat when the rash came. it may also be heat rash, but the benedryl and bactine would do him no harm if you give them and they are not what is needed. a cold wash cloth works well on hives and heat rash.
Avatar f tn have just looked up this on a dermatology website, but the symptoms do not match, in my case the 'rash' just looks like sunburn, reddening of the skin and has no other characteristics than it feeling hot, like sunburn. in some cases it can appear and disappear in 10 minutes depending on the situation im in, other times it takes a little longer to disappear. i have tried to search many skin conditions on the internet but can not find anything which matches, as no other symptoms persist.
Avatar n tn I wonder whether this fine redness and burning on my face and neck is part of the heat rash or maybe something else? Any advice what to do more? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.
Avatar f tn There are so many things it could be, starting with heat rash because yes you can get it on your legs, so posting a picture or describing it would help. Also, this article might help. http://walking.about.com/od/medhot/a/legrash.
Avatar f tn Is it all because of the one time I went tanning before I got married? Is it PMLE or just a heat rash? Furthermore, while on vacation my rash won't show up until about the 3rd or 4th day into my vacation and then it covers my whole body. Why do you think this is? Side Note: I'm an spf nazi and cake 30-50 on at all times. I love swimming and vacationing, but the thought of going makes me depressed due to my ugly rash.
