Figuring it to be exhaustion I put up with it for a week. When the symptoms persisted I called the doc. His review was a peptic ulcer and prescribed 30mg of Prevacid along with 1g of Amoxil and Biaxin (not sure of amount). Since then, I have nausea in the morning upon waking even after eating and taking the pills. In the afternoon I start to cough and get a taste of mucus or bile.
I am too young to have these problems. Please help or advise anyway you can.
I have been living with heartburn for a long time now an have seen a doctor about it Im going back to doctor again an hoping to have the scope put down to find out what it is, could it be a ulcer? or something worse thats coursing this for me...

sorry you are having this problem. Since the over the counter meds are not working you should see a doctor. They may need to do an Upper GI to make sure you don't have an ulcer. Also, The chest pain and back pain needs to be checked too. I don't want you to put off going to the doctor but it does take a month or two for Zantac or Prilosec to heal an ulcer or you may reflux even if you don't feel it. Please get this checked out.
Hello. I just had a pneumonia almost 2 months ago and i had ulcer last November but already been cured by pantoprazole domperidone. Now i feel like my ulcer reoccured again coz im having heartburn,stomach pain and bloating
and nauseous. My question is can i take pantoprazole again even though i just had pneumonia and still having shortness of breath and chest pain? Pls help coz i dont know what really is the cause of my difficulty in breathing is it from having pneumonia or my ulcer.
For the past few days I have been feeling very nauseous after eating, sometimes with heartburn and sometimes without heartburn. What scares me is that a few years ago I had experience some blood on my toilet paper, sometimes it was a decent amount. I am also lactose intolerant. After switching to a plant based diet i haven't seen any blood, it's been about 2 years.

The antibiotics in the Prevpak can cause heartburn as well. I would still suggest giving it a bit more time...

Pylori, I was having that gnawing pain, burping, nausea, and heartburn again so immediately i believed these were signs of another ulcer, but she only put me on prilosec and on fiber.. Im really concerned about this gnawing pain that begins when I start eating.. Can i be getting another ulcer? Please advice..
I have to disagree because i have done tons of research and all my symptoms are general symptoms of a ulcer. i do take zantac, pepto bismol and have been eating bananas which i have read all help ease the symptoms and they really do but for a short period of time.I do wonder though because i have gained weight due to not working and finding myslef siting alot at either the computer or couch, could my symptoms just be from my stomach muscles stretching due to acess weight or poor posture??
I am concerned as to whether I have gastric cancer or an ulcer or something else? I have an endoscopy scheduled in 2 weeks but that is too long from now and I am going crazy with anxiety and stress having to wait that long!
Here is a little bit about me and my symptoms: I'm a heavy 21 year old male and for the past few months I have had dull aches and pain right below my sternum, pain in my chest area, through the back sometimes and now currently, on my sides.
Sorry your daughter has been in so much pain. I know with my heartburn it just burns from my stomach up to my throat. Could she have a ulcer? I know when I had one my stomach hurt and it felt like cramping. have you taking her to a family dr? I would start there. And maybe when she is having these pains to have her eat some tums or something that is for heartburn just to see if that helps because those meds also help with ulcer pain.
I dont work so i find myself siting on the couch alot watching tv and thats where i notice the discomfort the most, does feel better though when i lay down. I usually get lots of stomach gas(fart) , have heartburn and symptoms of GERD(i take zantac once daily) ,so i am wondering if this feeling has to do with that? but does that explain the burning sensation all the time??? I was fine for the first few days but then developed a cough for about 10 days but now I have persistant heartburn every night and at times during the day something I never experienced before. Its like my throat is on fire for the past 2 weeks. Ive tried unsuccessfully to give up smoking before and this never happened. Good grief, spitting up blood from heartburn when you were pregnant was a pretty good sign you have an ulcer, a bleeding ulcer. It sounds to me like when you pour alcohol in your tummy, it's like putting battery acid on an open wound, it makes it bleed more, hurts, irritates the stomach so much, that it pukes it all up.
The increased anxiety can cause more stomach acid and therefore your symptoms. I confess I take omeprazole for the heartburn. The burping went away with the anxiety. My stomach burned so bad I thought I had an ulcer. You can get prevacid or prilosec over the counter. Either one should help. Good luck and excuse yourself!
Pains you experience may be called "hunger pains". Duodenal ulcer is one typical reason, releaving of pain after eating and heartburn also both speak for it. If it is ulcer, you'd have some blood in the stool, not necessary seen with a naked eye, but with a (1) hemoccult stool test. Another test you might want to have is a (2) breath test for H. pylori - this causes ulcers and heart burn.
