I have been living with heartburn for a long time now an have seen a doctor about it Im going back to doctor again an hoping to have the scope put down to find out what it is, could it be a ulcer? or something worse thats coursing this for me...

sorry you are having this problem. Since the over the counter meds are not working you should see a doctor. They may need to do an Upper GI to make sure you don't have an ulcer. Also, The chest pain and back pain needs to be checked too. I don't want you to put off going to the doctor but it does take a month or two for Zantac or Prilosec to heal an ulcer or you may reflux even if you don't feel it. Please get this checked out.
In January of this year (2008) I was having heartburn so bad it made me sick with feeling of muscle cramps on the right side of my chest. My doctor prescribed a 2 week course of Nexium. The heartburn went away for a few days after the 2 weekes but returned. Maalox used to help but after a few days of constant heartburn the doc told me to buy Prilosec which worked well.
Good grief, spitting up blood from heartburn when you were pregnant was a pretty good sign you have an ulcer, a bleeding ulcer. It sounds to me like when you pour alcohol in your tummy, it's like putting battery acid on an open wound, it makes it bleed more, hurts, irritates the stomach so much, that it pukes it all up.
Sorry your daughter has been in so much pain. I know with my heartburn it just burns from my stomach up to my throat. Could she have a ulcer? I know when I had one my stomach hurt and it felt like cramping. have you taking her to a family dr? I would start there. And maybe when she is having these pains to have her eat some tums or something that is for heartburn just to see if that helps because those meds also help with ulcer pain.
I get a pain that I can only describe as a scraping sensation that travels from my throat down the centre of my chest.
To my surprise I was having this pain last evening before the heartburn started. I took a dose of mylanta and the pain went away. So my question is....can h pylori cause heartburn and can this pain in my back be possibly related to my stomach. I had a gallbladder ultrasound, abdominal ct scan, extensive blood work and also an ekg. I'm afraid that I may have stomach cancer. Please help if you can. I'm desperately trying for get better.
Pains you experience may be called "hunger pains". Duodenal ulcer is one typical reason, releaving of pain after eating and heartburn also both speak for it. If it is ulcer, you'd have some blood in the stool, not necessary seen with a naked eye, but with a (1) hemoccult stool test. Another test you might want to have is a (2) breath test for H. pylori - this causes ulcers and heart burn.

6 weeks ago I started waking up in the night with what I can only describe as heart burn - severe pain in my chest. I had heartburn during pregnancy and this pain feels nothing like this. Its just an intense pain in my chest it varies from the middle to all over the chest to just one sided, it feels like a cramping or crushing feeling. It starts before I eat and gets worse after wards. I also have pain on and off just under my right rib cage, also lately the smelliest light tan/yellow stools.
No heartburn. Pain does seem to occur after meals. But again, it does not occur everyday or after every meal. It is just strange through. It feel like a sevear muscle strain that occurs when a move a certain way and then disappears once I return to my previous position. But, I could make the same movement later and it will not occur. If you have acidity symptoms such as heart burn, acid brash, acid regurgitation, gastritis, peptic ulcer then you would need medications such as antacids, H2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors to counter the action of the acid.
So Prilosec and Nexium fall into the class of proton pump inhibitors. Do not self prescribe and I would suggest you to follow up with a gastroenterologist for a proper diagnosis and for titration of the dosage for you.

It was two weeks on omeprazole, clarithromycin and Metronidazol for two weeks. The original pain I was having was heartburn, bloating and a pain on my side just under my rib cage. The antibiotics gave me diarrhea several times each day. I still have the diarrhea, as well as the heartburn and pain on my side.
is this pain on my side something else? A hernia? A really bad ulcer? Or is this a sign that the treatment didn't work if I'm experiencing the exact same pains.

The pain and symptoms which you have suffered are highly suggestive of an ulcerative disease of the stomach/duodenum (1st part of intestine).
