heartburn

Avatar f tn I normally just take some Maalox. My heartburn was so bad at one point I had to take some before I ate or drank anything & still had to take some afterwards. If it doesn't seem to get any better I would ask your doctor about heartburn medications.
Avatar f tn Try the Antacid Reflex liquid they work faster , I would get heartburn aswell during my first 3 months & tums would work but liquid antacid worked faster . . .
Avatar f tn For heartburn drinking lots and lots of milk definately helps to ease it and it doesnt happen as often but as for the cold i have no suggestions sorry..

Avatar f tn I walk daily with my two yr old n one yr old but with both of them I was at one cm and two cm forever n was induced with both..??? Any SAFE at home remedies??
Avatar f tn I have used antacids and they always seem to work fine. I take about 2-4 tablets per day. About 1 month ago my heartburn seemed to be getting better, ie I wasn't using as many tablets. But just 2 weeks ago I feel as if there is a bubble coming up my throat and won't go down. It's like I have a constant burp. The antacids aren't working and sometimes I feel like I might vomit, but this is only mild. Also I have been getting the hiccups a lot. (more than usual).
Avatar n tn Anybody know any good remedies for the most intense, persistent heartburn??
9392891 tn?1412535749 Is Maalox stronger than Tums? Tums only work for about 20-30 minutes. I had heartburn before pregnancy and they didn't work much then either. But since being pregnant its been so much worse.
4483971 tn?1401780679 This is going to sound crazy but I've had heartburn so bad at times my chest hurt. It would wake me up multiple times a night and I'd have straight acid washing into my mouth which obviously then made me nauseous. My crazy remedy? Strawberry jello. No lie. I eat one of those jello cups. It goes away and doesn't come back. Tums I found would work for a couple hours then there I'd be again in pain. I thought it was coincidence but I started testing my theory and googled.
Avatar f tn Other than that I sucked on cough drops constantly or sat in the bathroom with a warm Shower runnin to help clear me out. The heartburn, they gave me a prescription bc i have gerd too so the heartburn and nausea was horrible! Just talk to the doc and maybe they can help ya more! Hope you feel better!
363110 tn?1340924019 ( As a matter of fact I feel kinda icky now and I haven't eaten anything since dinner at 6pm!!UGH I hate heartburn!!!!
Avatar n tn I've tried so many remedies for heartburn (including Aciphex, Nexium, Zantac, Betaine HCL, baking soda, Pepto Bismol) that don't work. I'm curious if it isn't heartburn at all. Are there any other diseases/conditions that can cause extreme burning/gripping/tight sensations in that area? Thanks a lot in advance for any responses.
Avatar f tn Since I stared perimenopause I suddenly developed horrible bloating/gas along with heartburn/acid reflux. It sems to be much worse at certain times of the month. Does anyone have a home remedy they use that works well for this? I hesitate to see my Dr. because I know they will hand me a script for "the purple pill". I am not opposed to medication, but see it as a last resort. Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Well I didnt get sick like that but im 11 weeks today but when I was 8 weeks I got sick I ate saltine crackers and they helped alot
203342 tn?1328740807 I have almost constant heartburn and gas and it's making me miserable. According to the directions on my medication, I'm not supposed to take ant-acids with this medication. I'm not sure what to do or what can help with this. I'm beginning to wonder if the medication exasberates things. It doesn't seem to be any one food or whatever that triggers it. Just this morning I only had a cup of tea, hadn't even eaten anything yet and immediately I've got the heartburn and gas.
2216055 tn?1349385905 Today while at work I decided to eat a snack of Cheezits. Those darn crackers gave me the worse case of heartburn I have ever had in my life. I ate them maybe at 1;30 and I still have the heartburn, I feel so miserable. What food gives you all heartburn?
384896 tn?1335297931 I've gone down the entire list of things that my doc gave me to do for heartburn and NOTHING helps. I'm at the point where WATER gives me heartburn! My cigarettes for christs sake gives me heartburn! Sometimes I even get it for absolutely NO reason! Anyone have any suggested home remedies to try? Eating ice and popcicles have a temporary relief that stops just as soon as I stop eating them. lol.
1273473 tn?1270779440 avoid them one hour before of two hours after riba, to avoid reducing bioavailability. Heartburn and GERD are managed by GI docs; at least we’re already seeing one of them anyway, huh :o).
877337 tn?1249848050 Like MANmom said, its not allways in your chest (actual heartburn). Is the throat feel bad in the morning? A lot of thyroid people have acid reflux at night and dont realize it, then termed silent reflux or LPRD, which is a little different than major heartburn. The difference is you may not feel the burn down low near the LES but you can wake up gagging if the acid makes it way to the voice box area past the Upper Esophageal Sphincter.
Avatar m tn I'm no expert on ulcers, but I know a lot about heartburn and GERD, and I'm almost positive you have at least those. I'm not a big advocate of medications, especially long term, but the Zantac doen't seem to be working. You do need to see a doctor, but at the very least, pay attention to your diet. Excess weight around your mid section can put pressure on your stomach and force the contents back up your throat. Sitting for hours isn't great for digestion either.
Avatar f tn I have finally managed to pass out of my m/s and am now in my 2nd trimester -- Yeah! I have horrible gas (burping), indigestion/heartburn. Help! I have never had this before or during my other pregnancies. It is not in my stomach -- don't feel sick. But I feel very acidy and unfortunately (or fortunately) burping seems to bring some very temporary relief. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat -- although some things make it worse.
Avatar n tn It happens sporadically and every time I think I'll let it go because it's happened before -- but I can't. I have worn a 30 day monitor too. I had this nasty heartburn at the time and it recorded nothing, well except NORMAL cardiac activity. I still have a hard time with that one. It is so weird and misplaced I was sure it was my heart. I still have it though and it still scares me. I also have chest discomfort that I try to ignore, sometimes I can but mostly I can't.
Avatar f tn It gets so bad sometimes that I almost cry. It, also, often comes with this ridiculous amount of pressure in my chest. And when it comes, it comes for awhile. In bursts but for awhile at a time (It's literally been happening the whole time I've been writing this and for a few minutes before I started) I've already posted this earlier today, but didn't get a response so am trying again... now it's been an all day thing, not just often, but all day! So painful and uncomfortable!
11072290 tn?1415066835 They usually start you off on Omeprazole, but if you find that this does not work, there are other prescription remedies that may work better for you. If you are taking Ibuprofen, you should also be taking a stomach remedy to protect your stomach (whatever your doctor has prescribed) or take the medication after you have eaten. Ibuprofen can cause stomach problems. Not everyone can take Ibuprofen and the swelling may be due to inflammation due to the arthritis or from oedema.
Avatar n tn When you are stressed more acid builds in your stomach which then causes heartburn. I feel the same way and pop a tums and that relieves my worry and the heartburn. But if it keeps getting worse definitely have some further testing. I never had heartburn until a few months ago when I first started having panic/anxiety attacks so I'm sure it related. I hope this helps....
Avatar f tn My mother has fibromyalgia and for almost a decade complained of pain but was told it was anxiety, which fair enough for her she does have some issues where that is concerned. However I do not!
Avatar n tn My 2 year old daughter has been throwing up for about 2 months now. At first it was only at night or first thing in the morning and then she started doing it at random times during the day as well. For about 2 weeks she was throwing up at least 3 times a day. I took her to the doctor and mentioned that I was concerned because she had reflux when she was a baby so they put her back on the reflux medication.
Avatar f tn I'm 45 years old and 5 1/2 weeks pregnant (Naturally). My husband and I have been trying for 2 years a number of IUI's but no success so we just gave up. I have 2 children from my 1st marrage (age 18 & 14). I'm scare to death, don't know if I can do this all over again at my age. My husband is 5 years younger and really wanted a child of our own. He is so happy but he doesn't understand all the riskes being pregnant at 45. I know most women my age will have a miscarriage.
