Avatar n tn He can read, count in English and Spanish, and has very good verbal skills. However, he zones out when in big groups (school and sports). His teacher says he zones out and does not respond to commands when they have rug time. When they go back to their small groups, he is tuned in and proves that he learned what he says. He can also follow commands well when spoken to directly.
Avatar m tn s has a good book, Heart Zone Training. It gives specific heart training zones to improve cardiovascular fitness. I take a medication to lower my heart rate. However, it would be preferred to lower heart rate through exercise, as side effects of mediation I do not care for. Also, continual stress may raise heart rate (Type A personality). May learn some relaxation techniques.
1801781 tn?1461629469 LB... I have a BIG A** smile on my face right now! Yoga has been a HUGE part of my recovery. I am thrilled you are giving it a shot as I've seen it transform so many lives. Avatar n tn From there you figure different heart zones to work in. 70-80% they say is where you achieve good aerobic fitness. I take medication to slow my heart, as I have been diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia. However, I am still able to achieve HR in 70-90% of my target heart rate. However, I only spend a little time in upper ranges. I base my workouts on how my BP is doing. If i do overexert, too much time at upper ends, it can drive my HR up.
Avatar n tn I purchased a heart rate monitor to keep track of my target heart rate and have quickly noticed my heart rate is quite fast. My resting heart rate is 84 bpm. This was taken this morning when I woke up and was still lying in bed. A few days ago when I was working out I checked my heart rate and it was pretty steady at about 155 bpm. At one point when I increased the speed and incline of the treadmill, it peaked at about 180 bpm.
1310633 tn?1430224091 gun-free zones. Are gun-free zones truly safe from guns? John Lott, economist and gun-rights advocate, has extensively studied mass shootings and reports that, with just one exception, the attack on U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Arizona, in 2011, every public shooting since 1950 in the U.S. in which more than three people have been killed has taken place where citizens are not allowed to carry guns.
Avatar m tn Your heart rate should recover quicker than it sounds like it is. May want to look into Heart Zones training. Sally Edwards has a good book on this. Basically, she divides your heart training rate into 5 zones and most aerobic benefits are found in zone 3, 70-80% of your target heart rate. 80-90% should be used if you are in good shape. This does seem to be helping me with my exercise and I have seen some improvement in heart rate and blood pressures using this system.
Avatar n tn If it is still high, I would say take a day off or less strenuous workout, walking. Try Heart Zones Training.
Avatar f tn s an interesting question. Change takes us out of our comfort zones. That in turn churns up emotions like fear and anxiety. It's like s ship leaving the security of the harbor and setting sail in stormy seas..... I look at all of the changes in my life and have found positive in nearly all of them. Although some abrupt change appears to have a negative impact in the onset, time often proves otherwise. For instance, a change in employment.
Avatar m tn Many of us can have heart rate zones where premature beats (in young people usually PACs - extra beats from the upper heart chambers) occur. They can have many causes, and adrenaline excess is the most common. If we start to worry about the heart rhythm during exercise, it can get a lot worse. From what I've heard (and unfortunately experienced myself from time to time) it usually happens in the beginning of exercise, or in the heart rate zones 130-160 bpm.
Avatar m tn Part of the problems we are having in this country, I believe, stems from the formal education we have, or don't have. Basically the public education system we have has not changed over the last century, so what changes would you make if you could and if added cost is involved how would you pay for it.
Avatar m tn Hi Dear Drs I am a 25 years old man with a comparatively dark skin but not black race. Recently I noticed two dark zones on my face skin symmetrically beside my eyes. The appearance of these dark areas may be as a result of the manipulation of my previous acnes. and as I searched its most probably to be a post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). But regardless of the cause of their development a cosmetic center adviced me to undergo a dislayeration IPL treatment to solve that and I did so.
Avatar f tn So thank yall from the very bottom of my heart!
Avatar m tn ischemia simply means lack of blood flow to a section of the heart and inferior refers to the lower section of the heart. A cath is required to see where the obstruction is and attempt to treat it before an MI occurs (heart attack). The blockage regarding the inferior part of the heart is usually quite a long way down one of the major arteries, either the LAD or the Circumflex.
Avatar n tn Hi guys, I will be traveling across the globe next week and I would like to purchase some sleeping pills to take with me to cure my jet lag since it's very difficult for my body to get accustomed to the new time zone by itself, and I will be flying to different time zones almost everyday. I'm not very educated on sleeping pills and have a few questions for the experts: 1.) What is the most effective OTC sleeping pills you can recommend? 2.
Avatar f tn org/medical-information/show/4092 and search on for the subject here and on the web... rather than hope someone will take the time required to give you an equivalent education by responding to your post.
Avatar n tn Basically, she breaks up your heart rate into 5 zones. Zone 3 is 70-80% of your target heart rate and results in increased aerobic and cardiovascular fitness. Sounds like you are training in high Zone 4 or even Zone 5. This level is for elite athletes and should only be visited for short periods by normal folk. You may want to spend more time doing light cardio. I agree with greendave, as a lot of us go full out and end up sustaining an injury or something worse.
739536 tn?1265669359 I hate the fact that everyone is at different time zones , The people I want to comune with are 15 hours behind me and light years ahead when it comes to treatment - I love you I hate you but HEY that was 15 hours ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!
1101325 tn?1321253073 you out of the arrhythmia by producing an extra impulse which can terminate the re-entry circuit. The heart rate zones where it will try pacing vs the zones where it will shock, is programmed and customized to fit each user. An old person with coronary artery disease who can't tolerate a heart rate of 150, will probably have an ICD programmed to shock at heart rate 140.
Avatar n tn BUT since I am taking the Atenolol it keeps me from beating fast. So the heart resting rate and exercise rate is really a artificial heart rate and not my real heart rate without medication. The best I have been able to get is about 98-100 bpm. But is that a true reading or am I really over exerting my heart at a much higher rate. And if so, what should my exercise target rate be taking the medication.

Avatar n tn Exercise. Start low intensity walking program. Your heart rate sounds high and the exact same thing happened to me. I was turned down ffrom giving blood for slightly elevated temp and heart rate was high. If you are overweight, lose some weight. As long as your heart is okay structurally, may want a Dr. to take a look at this, you should be able to exercise. The walking will strengthen your heart and make it more efficient and thus slow it down.
Avatar f tn Diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve. Aortic insufficiency/regurgitation 15 years ago. I deploy to combat zones annually. Up to last year I have been able to complete PT testing with no problems. The problem I have is during my running my heart rate only rises to a max of 92 beats then suddenly dives to 59 beats I feel weak and have to stop running. Eventually the heart rate returns to normal after running. I take Procardia XL and Tenormin. Please don't tell me to go to the hospital.
