Avatar m tn A few cherry picked sections on CoQ10 from the book: The great cholesterol myth - why lowering your cholesterol won't prevent heart disease and a statin-free plan that will... "Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin like substance found throughout the body and made in every cell. Among the very important things it does, CoQ10 helps create energy from fuel (food) in the human body, just as a spark plug creates energy from fuel (gasoline) in a car.

Avatar f tn Hello there please help, I am 25 years old and have 2 blood clotting disorders, I was diagnosed with a left hemispheric Tia in march 2011 and found to have a hole in my heart in which they think a blood clot got through to my brain to cause the Tia. I had the hole closed in may 2011 and put on a blood thinner. I have since had 3 more Tia like episodes which the doctors are not wanting to call Tia, I.

Avatar n tn html PEGASYS can cause serious side effects, such as mental health problems and suicide, heart problems, stroke or symptoms of a stroke, new or worsening autoimmune problems, and infections. Some of these side effects may cause death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if your loved one has any of these symptoms while taking their treatment with PEGASYS.
Avatar f tn If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse. Patent foramen ovale too could be the cause (commonly known as hole in the heart). It can also be chronic fatigue syndrome if all other causes are ruled out.

443441 tn?1204949096 Three weeks ago he had another TIA...but the hole in his heart is repaired....On the MRI the TIA does not show up...but a stroke does...Since the MRI shows no stroke...they are saying he has TIA's....but then....why does he keep having major problems with his left leg..has to walk with a cane...this last TIA effected his right leg...and a physical therapist is coming to the house...... my questions are: If they are TIA's....why does he keep having after-effects?
Avatar m tn I am a 37 year old (non-smoker, teetotaller), had a TIA two years ago. since no cause was found, am being treated for highBP - however I suffer out of chronic acidity, stomach gas & poor bowel movement..... i am wondering whether i AM really a cardiac patient OR my problems are merely on account of acute digestive problems ?
Avatar m tn I had a TIA July 23/2011 and have recovered without any disabilities but have experienced several other conditions. I still have periodic headache pains along with stabbing sharp pains to the left side of my head. I have asked several medical professionals and seem to have no clue. One doctor said I had dry eye syndrome. How crazy is that!!! From reading other comments in this forum, I now know that seems to be a condition that prevails before and after a TIA.
Avatar n tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Understand your predicament. The mitral regurgitation can cause the left atrial dilatation and left ventricular hypertrophy. Unless there is atrial fibrillation, pure mitral regurgitation has a low incidence of thromboembolism and hence may not be the cause for the TIA. Hope hypertension has been ruled out, this can cause left ventricular hypertrophy and can also cause TIAs.
Avatar n tn There should be investigative studies conducted to look at your risk factors foe stroke such as heart disease coranory heart disease and vessel changes, especially the carotids, hypertension, etc. You should see your doc and get the necessary specialities involved in your care and possibly look at an MRI that can detect any vessel changes.

Avatar n tn Since 1990 I have trouble with clotting and take daily coumadin dosage to remain within optimal INR range. I also have problems with bloodvessels and heart. Actually I have a question re. TIA's. Question 1: is a TIA always caused by a clot? What about a sprung small bloodvessel? Could it close by itslef again? Is this also called a TIA? Question 2: how is a TIA diagnosed? Since it obviously disappears after a while, how can they diagnose afterwards?
Avatar f tn I am a 65 year old and very active- but now have blood pressue that rises to 180-210 /90-103/heart rate drops to 50-44 when i try to walk for 5 minutes or from the simple task of getting ready for bed at night- I get up from the couch - wash face/ use bathroom - change clothes and my pressure go up from 150/80/55 tp over 180/200/90/100/50-. Avatar m tn Allow me to preface this by saying that I am a 19-year-old male, weigh around 120 pounds, have normal blood pressure, and have not been informed of any problems with my heart or cholesterol. My family also has no history of neurological disorders. For the past week, I've been experiencing some chest pain. Yesterday, I went to see my doctor and he informed me that I have a respiratory tract infection which is making me asthmatic and causing sinus inflammation.
Avatar n tn In the younger age group causes include heart problems, or a predisposition to clotting, whether due to oral contraceptives or genetic mutations/clotting factor deficiencies.
Avatar n tn The last time this happened after prolonged exercise the ER doc said I had a TIA. But the neurologist told me that TIA don't repeatedly attack the same area with the same symptoms. Neurologist and Cardiologist have both run numerous tests. I am a very healthy sick person. A low heart rate resulted in having pacemaker at age 39. Heart in great shape otherwise, except for some history of atrial fibrilation caused by exercise.
Avatar n tn This has been discussed at length on these forums. use the search forum and archives to read more about this. Other things can cause it such as TIA and disease of the heart, brain, blood vessels and and eyes.
Avatar f tn Apparently I suffered a mini stroke yesterday.Spent the day at emergency. I feel very tired and weak. They will be doing two more tests to follow up.
Avatar n tn Is the presense of a PFO enough evidence to confirm a TIA? Would Hypertension and a PFO increase the risk of stroke/TIA in the future? What would be your advice? Thankyou.
