Avatar n tn I suffer from severe heart palpitations (female - age 39). Five to six times per day I feel funny things going on in my heart. Sometimes I get three hard beats followed by a pause and then a thump. Other times I just get a thump and yet other times a fluttering feeling. I have been through every test imaginable and the doctors cannot find anything wrong with me.
Avatar n tn html) that talks about a large number of folks with PSVT who received just those diagnoses when, in fact, they had just what they SAID they had and what they SAID made them anxious, nervous, stressed and panicky was a fast and sometimes irregular heartbeat that came out of nowhere.
Avatar f tn Any malfunction of the electrical system in the heart malfunction can cause a fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat. Types of heart disease that affect the electrical system are known as arrhythmias. They can cause the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly.
Avatar n tn About three years ago I had a problem with an irregular heartbeat. My heart would flutter when I was inhaling. The problem was most severe at night and progressivly got worse until morning. Tests and tests were taken on my heart with no problems found. Finally I was given an upper GI and my doctor told me it was Acid reflux caused. Took Previcid and it went away after about two weeks. Now it is back. Previcid does not seem to help after two months. It seems worse than the first time.
Avatar n tn hello im 27 yrs old and suffer from heart palpitations, i wondered if these can be linked to the menstrul cycle as i tend to get them mostly around this time and only occasionally inbetween its quite scary as i have to breath deep to get my breath, i have not been to my local gp about this yet as im afraid of what he will say. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/712390'>Heart Palpitations</a>.
Avatar n tn Just 2 weeks ago I had my first irregular heartbeat which would not go away....scared the heck out of me and raced off to a doctor and then emergency where I was eventually cardioverted. Since then I have suffered panic attacks and of course everytime my heart or my chest feels funny I think I am about to die.
Avatar m tn I will also occasionally still get heart palpitations and daily irregular heartbeats and some days are better than others.

Avatar n tn One of the MD responses stated that "Premature atrial contractions (PACs) ..., but there is no way to distinguish PACs from atrial fibrillation without an electrocardiogram. A definition of afib is awareness of a strong, fast, irregular or "galloping" heartbeat. But what about the other sensations that I (and others based on their comments from this board) have that include fluttering or flopping with a "hollow" feeling, "air bubbles bursting," etc.?
Avatar n tn i was given them to control my heart palpitations. i never..EVER had a pvc until i started taking beta blockers. so, my question, could my pvcs be a side effect of the medication im on? as i have no history of them..and i didnt get them until i started beta blockers about 3 years ago.

Avatar f tn i have had those crazy palpitations, skipped heart beats, flutters, pauses in the rhythm and then that pounding of the heartbeat since i was 18 or so....at least thats what i remember. it could've been since i was much younger and i just never knew i had it. anyhow, i am 43 now so i've had it for at least 25 years. it came and went over the years.
Avatar n tn The most common symptoms are unexplained fainting spells or near fainting spells, and irregular heart beat. It can be palpitations or skipped beats. It can occure when you excercise. Thats why when you are tested for it, they have you pedal a stationary bike while you are hooked up to all the leads. So it is common with LQTIS to have pvs while excercising. When it hits, it drops you so fast. You don't even have time to call 911 before you are dead.
Avatar f tn I am a 35yo female that has suffered from heart palpitations for the last several years. I have had every test that you can think of. They all come back as normal. My cardiologist says that some people suffer from palpitations for no reason. It just seems like when I have palpitations that I automaticlly need to have a bowel movement. Does anyone else suffer from that? I have been told that is not a sign of any heart problem.
Avatar f tn I ask because everyone thought PVCs were causing my palpitations however it is actually PACs once caught... Why are these never brought up as a possible cause?
1019152 tn?1336077892 There is so many things I cant eat now or have chosen not too because I think causes some symtoms of irregular heart beats. I totally avoid....caffiene, soda anything with carbonation I do not drink. Water seems to make me very burpy and sometimes can cause svt.So I avoid plain water. I mainly drink koolaid, which seems to work for me.Maybe an occasional beer or 2. I do not eat anything citrisy(is that even a word I dont know)anything acidic.Like strawberrries, oranges, pineapple apples.
Avatar n tn I also had a couple episodes of tachycardia that would last for a few seconds, stop, start again and thus resulting in a pretty chaotic heartbeat. I had a nuclear stress test, echo, event monitor and all tests are normal. Also thyroid function, potassium levels, etc are normal. I'm currently taking cardizem LA 120mg and atenolol xl 50mg. I continue to have skipped beats but no real events of tachycardia.
Avatar m tn Even long sustained runs of VT (ventricular tachycardia) are normally benign when the heart is otherwise healthy. Palpitations are only a bad sign when there is an underlying heart disease. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask people on here more questions.
Avatar m tn - Dizziness - Shortness of breath - Faiting or near-fainting - Nausea - Hard heart beats - Light heart beats 7) Was the tachycardia regular or irregular? If irregular, was it some kind of pattern in the "madness" (like x-x-xxxx-x-x-xxx--x) or not (x---x--x-----x-x-xx-x---xx---x-x) or (x--x--x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x--x--x--x like the heart rate increased or decreased in "steps")?
Avatar n tn Endocarditis is inflammation of the inside lining of the heart chambers and heart valves. Endocarditis can involve the heart muscle, heart valves, or lining of the heart. Risk factors usually include injection drug use, permanent central venous access lines, prior valve surgery, recent dental surgery or weakened valves.
86819 tn?1378951092 also alot of chest discomfort and irregular palpitations. sometimes it feels like my heart is really struggling to keep going and it trembles. i have had a few episodes of svt where my heartbeat was around 170. this has actually been going on for about 3 years. i've been to emerg at least 20 times. no one can give me any answers they all say it's just stress or nothing serious. i'm getting so depressed that this is consuming all my thoughts.
704329 tn?1518526698 I suspect that mine, too were on the back side of my heart as I suffered with a very sore tender spot right where my heart was all through my palpitations. Couldn't figure out why therapy would not relieve my pain. Then I realized it was worse when my palps were the worst. It makes sense now that I am sore back there. Other than that the leg incision is fine. I felt so good this morning i had my son and husband move the living room furniture around!
Avatar n tn I went to the hospital and they ran a whole lot of tests on me, and told me there was nothing wrong, other than higher than avereage cholestrol levels (runs in the family) and a slightly irregular heartbeat (I've always had that) It seemed to have been a one time event but 3 weeks ago, I suddenly had a pounding heartbeat that would not calm down, it came while I was in bed, and I couldn't get to sleep for a long time as a result.
Avatar m tn So, I take one dose and I start to have a rapid heartbeat. I'm prone to an irregular heartbeat and heart palpitations...something having to do with a Mitrovalve Prolapse. Knowing this, I stop taking the Prilosec and begin to get back on my mild diet, playing it safe. Unfortunately, as of today (it's been about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks since I saw the doctor) some of my symptoms are still lingering...the gurgling noise in my throat and excessive burping. I just want to go back to normal.
Avatar n tn I wanted to ask this earlier and BEFORE I use my inhalers this evening. I have irregular, rapid heartbeat, emphysema and asthma. I have been on albuteral (quick relief) and atrovent (long acting relief) inhalers along with asthmacort. Two weeks ago my dr upper my Qvar dose (steriod) and then yesterday added Serevent to the list. Everything was kinda "OK" except for the lower leg cramps. Last night was the first night that I used all 4 inhalers (not albuteral).
Avatar n tn I've had heart palpitations for almost a year now. Most of the times I just get this fast, strong but regular heartbeat, some PVCs(I think)but not a lot. From time to time however my heart goes crazy and starts beating fast and completely out of sync. The episodes are infrequent and don't last long - a few seconds or so. Last week however, after climbing a flight of stairs at work, I had one which was longer than usual. I felt breathless and very weak. Needless to say it SCARED me.
Avatar n tn I also had heart race rushes and palpitations. my doctor would not do any tests, fortunately one of his partners sent me for a 24 hour holter which came back clear apart from 2 periods of sinus tach (exercise). I accept that I have palpitations and they have diminished but I do find that my resting heartrate is higher than I would like about 80 at rest...housework takes it up to 100.
170935 tn?1225374676 It just come in a bit early! Now 2007, showed that portion of my heart muscle dead. Heart wall movement impaired. Again another cardio said that the infarction could due to the radiofrequency ablation and less likely a blockage. I think the Research is waiting for the first few radiofrequency survivors reported. I wonder now a day so many young children have the ablation.... I think the bio medical engineers need to speedy up their invention of artifical heart.
