Avatar f tn Here is a game for story-tellers and/or writers. The rules of this game are very simple, all you have to do is write a short story, song, or poem. Whatever you choose to write could be funny, informative, or a mixture of both. You can write the story on anything that you wish and after I have received at least 10 applicable posts, I will decide a winner of the game. I will then contact them via messaging either on their profile page or this post.
Avatar f tn t ordered with contrast but they told me at the beginning that since the MS protocol brain was with contrast, they would review the thoraic and if needed would take more pictures there with the contrast. The radiologist looked at the first set of thoraic and said they had to get some more with the contrast. Then the radiologist came back to ok that they got what they needed when using the contrast. Hmmmmm I'm great at reading MRIs of the cervical spine and the lumbar spine.

Avatar f tn I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. I get them at different times, while watching tv or just relaxing in bed, doing normal everyday things. I had blood work done and was told I was low on B12 and was told to take 1000 mcg of a supplement daily. While taking it the palpitations got stronger so I stopped taking it and they eased up.

Avatar m tn Your husband's heart is not meeting the body's system for blood/oxygen, and that will cause chest pains (angina) as the heart is not receiving a good supply of blood also a symptom of shortage of blood supply. Leg pain can be due to blood clots Hypertension should be controlled with medication.

Avatar n tn The heart issue in my opinion is far more dangerous than the hernia problem, unless the intestine is already pinched. I agree with Ed. Also, the hernia surgery will put additional strain on an obviously weakened heart.
Avatar n tn There is a mixed view on when to do a valve operation. The Mayo Clinic's renown heart surgery states publically that the biggest problem he see is that the patient waited too long. Waiting too long can require an operation when the left ventricle is enlarged and that condition would reduce the EF, and an operation subsequently the EF may never return to normal function.
Avatar m tn With children there is usually two operations, the second operation to account for the growth factor of a child.
Avatar m tn If the blockages in the circumflex get worse, then blood will be less available for both the right side of the heart and the left side/rear. I would look into the possibilities of having the blockage in the right artery opened using stents also. If the muscle near the left apex is viable, then I would probably be looking to bypass.A nuclear scan would be very valuable here.
Avatar m tn t exclude an iondividual from an operation. If that were the criterion as a basis for an operation, then heart surgery, etc. would be contraindicated. The doctor may have other reasons concomitant to a heart issue...you should ask! The best method for determining the best hospitals and medical is from a health professional in your country. You could contact the Cleveland Clinic by email for more information and may be they could help you.
Avatar n tn The general rule of thumb is to surgically repair, or replace, the faulty valve when the patient is symptomatic or shows signs of declining cardiac funtion. That said, it's just a general guideline and each patient should be evaluated by their own physicians. Have you seen your cardiologist recently? What is his/her recommendation? Any chance you could go to Cleveland Clinic or Mayo?
Avatar m tn Now you are seeing that parathyroid surgery can be a bit complicated and why experience is the name of the game. This is why we look at all four parathyroid glands when we perform this operation. If your surgeon only removes the ONE parathyroid tumor that they see on a scan, then you will have a 15-20% chance of needing another operation to remove the second tumor some months or years later.
Avatar f tn Cysts can occur at any time. Now that the cyst has been removed you should have an easier time conceiving. I believe wiating 3 months is necessary but you should talk to your doctor. Many women who have cysts before pregnancy see their cyst issues go away after pregnancies.
Avatar n tn However, he carried a heavy load on his 9th week (more than the normal weight I think) and he started to feel the pain in his wounds again. He has no difficulty breathing though. He described the pain as similar after the operation procedure. Are there any complications that we should be concerned about. Thanks...
