My question is can extrasystoles (occasional skipped beats) result in rapid heart rate (atrial fibriilation or sinus tachardia is that what it's called?) for a few seconds (15 seconds) are they connected?
I consider myself a healthy 28 year old male.
I was diagnosed with extrasystoles 10 year ago (age 18), had an ECG , occasionally getting a missed beat or two like once a week, sometimes once a day.

s comment about the vet not experienced with rabbits. I disagree. The vet you go to must have good knowlege of rabbit anatomy. Things can go wrong with an operation. Go to a vet that at least has some experience with exotic animals in general. There are many positive aspects linked to spaying of buns so its worth the money you spend. Talk to the doctor and work out a payment plan over 3 months or so. If the vet loves animals as vets should he wouldn't mind.

I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. Having a past detachment increases your risk greatly of having another one in either eye. Intraocular surgery like cataract surgery also increases your risk in that eye. Have a "heart to heart" with your surgeon about the risks. If you need the cataract op to see, do it. I have done many such cases and have rarely had a problem. Also, have the retina checked. If there are any suspicious areas which may result in a hole, you might have them lasered in advance of the surgery.
What else did they do for her at the vet, gastric is a very dangerous situation for a rabbit and not a lot of vets special in rabbit care. She should have been giving IV fluids too. Give your rabbit the highest fiber food you can find and lots of hay. Timothy is great and high in fiber. It will help push things through. If your rabbit is still eating that a great sign. the medicine is probably a rabbit laxitive of some sort. A little belly rub never hurt either.

t exclude an iondividual from an operation. If that were the criterion as a basis for an operation, then heart surgery, etc. would be contraindicated. The doctor may have other reasons concomitant to a heart issue...you should ask!
