They could have done open heart surgery, bypass and fixed the valves in one operation. Was she short of breath before this all happened? When heart valves are bad, a person becomes short of breath. Climbing stairs is hard, energy level drops, easily tired. Chest pains are usually caused by plugged arteries. It does happened when the artery tears during a stent placement. Sometimes the artery is weak.

The last couple of months, when using machines at the gym, I have noticed my heart rate has been around 65bpm when doing high impact cardio exercise, either on the crosstrainer or the treadmill. I've had heart palpitations for 10 months, they started right after a hiatus hernia operation. I get them everyday. My husband has the same results from his BP machine. I believe there is an automatic setting on some machines that will give you the warning of "Irregular Heart Rate" if your pulse rate is less than 55-60 BPM. My husband has 1st degree heart block and his normal resting pulse in the morning is about 45 BPM and these are the times the machine warns him of "irregular heart rate". Later in the day, or other times when his heart rate is over 60 BPM, he does not get the warning.

Are you talking about the Ceragem Massaging machines? It is nice to have machines to massage you but you need to move your body to lose weight. Walking is a great way to lose weight. Increase your physical activities to 1/2 hour a day. That 1/2-hour can be broken up through the day, 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there. For example, park your car in the back of the parking lot and walk to the store. That will give you additional walking.
When heart rate reaches that level I feal close to blackout. As long as I am concious is it ok to go forward?
Also last time I exercised I found that during my cooldown my heart rate would jump around. Came down to 126, jumped back to 145, slowly came down around 130, then jumped again before finaly setling around 130, At that point I felt comfortable to be done with cool dawn and go home.

I have used the wrist watch, the chest band with the wrist watch, the finger device (pulse ox machines), automatic blood pressure cuff machines that reads your pulse and defibulators. All show tachy or very close to tachy. The most accurate ones so far have been the defibulators and the blood pressure cuff machines. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have asked many collegues and no one can give me a scientific answer.
While on the machine, I will watch my heart rate surge from normal to above the recommended rate in one or two minutes and then after that, the machines cannot register my heart rate at all. Also, when I manually monitor my heart rate (taking a pulse count with my fingers) I am always way above the recommended rate within only a few minutes. Another symptom I have is that I am extremely tired for about two days after one thirty-minute work out.

There is a mixed view on when to do a valve operation. The Mayo Clinic's renown heart surgery states publically that the biggest problem he see is that the patient waited too long.
