1122880 tn?1263156386 I swear i hate those energy drinks...they are soooo bad for you/us. They do exactly what the label says they will unfortunately there are no warning labels on those cans. Your heart reacted exactly how i would think it would....one after another? Its like that country western song...."What was i thinkin'?" You put your heart into overload and it was telling you it didn't like it and to back off. You may as well as sat down and done 20 shots of expresso in 10 minutes.
Avatar n tn 11 months old and when he had his surgery all other aspects of his heart were normal. This past May Eric went in for his 2 yr. f/u(at age almost 10) and the echo showed his aortic root is now dilated. We go back in Novmember for a 6 months f/u echo and see if Eric needs to go on B/P meds or if we can hold off a bit longer. We went back to Eric's geneticist(he has been followed by genetics since he was 1 y.o.) to be tested for Lowey-Dietz Syndrome, which is a fairly new syndrome(about 5+ yrs.
Avatar f tn an example of the Karvonen formula for a 23 year old person with a resting heart rate of 65 beats per minute (*to get your resting heart rate, take your pulse for one full minute when you first wake up in the morning or after you've resting for a while). This formula also includes an updated calculation of maximum heart rate (the previous formula was 220 - age, which has now been shown to be inaccurate): 206.9 - (0.

Avatar m tn I have no real family history of heart attacks-heart disease. (or any other real illness for that matter. We are a pretty lucky bunch I guess!) but I was just kind of curious on how long it takes for plaque and stuff to build in arteries and what not. any advice?

Avatar f tn he has an AICD due to syncopal events in the beginning of his treatment. In his youth, he was a trained athlete/ distance runner. He has always had very low heart rate and BP, however recently his physician has request him to start taking Coreg CR to help reduce cardiac workload. Our concern is that he already is bradycardic and the effects may worsen this symptom. Is this a routine or normal thing to do? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn I started feeling the chest tightening when I heard his car pull up to the house, and my heart absolutely sunk when I thought that he may part of the reason for my newfound anxiety issues. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions for the tightening in my chest, as well as maybe some advice for co-habitation, since I now can't ignore that maybe this is related to my anxiety.
574118 tn?1305135284 Please consult your physician to rule out the possibility of the Congestive heart failure as a cause of generalized swelling. I don’t think mitral regurgitation can cause generalized swelling before causing breathlessness and thus I won’t attribute the obesity to the underlying heart disease. Regards and do keep me posted.
13017155 tn?1429020488 Had your daughter met her at the youth group and the 18 year old was a regular member of the youth club, I would not be overly concerned, but would still impose sanctions (restrictions on telephone calls, where they met - definitely not outside the youth group meetings unless on outings with the youth group). It would be interesting to know how your daughter got on to go on an Instagram - is this a social network via the computer?
Avatar f tn Nothing specific seems to trigger them, just frantically pounding heart and fast heartbeats! My normal resting heart rate is between 80-100bpm. None of the doctors seemed to be particularly concerned about this, but it freaks me out. It feels my heart is going to jump off my chest! Should I just let it go? Should I insist for more detailed testing? I'd appreciate input!
Avatar m tn s at the time) Along with a change in diet and regular exercise, wondering about the benefits of daily asprin therapy of 81mg. I understand there may be higher risks of internal bleeding (but those risks decrease over time). Possible benefits seems to outweigh risks but taking into account my age, not sure....
Avatar f tn I am like a mole person at heart. I cherish dark lighting, alone time, and quiet. Not like in my youth.
20907989 tn?1619515060 The covid pandemic has also affected a good percentage of the mental health of our youth in many ways. In your opinion what are the major causes of depression in the youth during these covid stricken days?
Avatar f tn It is usually defined as a minor disruption or subluxation of the structural integrity of the calcaneocuboid portion of the midtarsal joint. There are many synonyms for this condition including: lateral plantar neuritis, cuboid fault syndrome, dropped cuboid, locked cuboid and subluxed cuboid. You should take him for a podiatric orthopedic specialist for proper therapy and follow up. Take care!
Avatar m tn It would definately be a good idea to get your own meds. Use an inhaler before you are exposed to pollutants if possible. If that doesn't help you would need a nebulizer, which would also have to be ordered by a doctor, though a GP may be more cost effective. There is a lot you can do for yourself! Eat fresh fruits and veggies, drink water all day long, probiotics (or Kombucha, my fav) might help, and if you drink coffee or soda you should quit.
1390847 tn?1344657468 you do offer some great advice, the other day i was reading something you wrote and saw how young you were.
Avatar m tn I would doubt sides like low anc, hgb, platelets and thyroid issues would be determined by age or physical conditioning. There are many people on the forum young and old who have experienced a lot of sides and who have experienced minimal sides. Trying to determine how you will respond to treatment based on how others do just doesn't really work. For some reason I thought you were already treating.

Avatar n tn Thank you, I'll give that a try.
2036337 tn?1337104009 This is all a result of your fear of flying. Many have this fear and taking a Xanax before boarding the plane will help you. Take things to keep your mind busy like a good book. Your anxiety is peaking due to your fear, so the calmer you are the better you'll feel. Your tests have proven that you are very healthy...trust in that. The only health issue you have is anxiety and it won't hurt or kill you...it's just very scary.
Avatar f tn list=PL9FxWnfq1Oyo9pHHUPHeQne4iqoZ4zTN_ Figure your heart rate by this formula The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts. Subtract your age from 220 the number left is your maximum heart rate.

Avatar m tn You do not mention a family history of heart disease or problems of blood pressure or obesity. Taken in the context of your youth and the number of tests you have already had, then the lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and the kind of chest pain you describe are absolutely *not* diagnostic hallmarks of heart disease for you. They are, however, characteristic of anxiety. By all means, see a cardiologist. But if he/she tells you that you're OK in the heart department, you are.
