Avatar m tn am planning to have sinus surgery (septopasty) to correct a deviated septum and deciding between surgeons. One of the surgeons attaches splints with breathing tubes to each side of the repaired septum, the other surgeon just stitches the 2 sides of the septum together in a procedure called "quilting".
Avatar f tn I try and do an activity that will take my mind off of it like taking a walk or quilting
Avatar f tn I do a fair amount of work with the computer and read a lot. I am a quilter and am really concerned about how difficult it will be to use the sewing machine. I had a tear in the vitreous last summer and had a vitrectomy in Dec. which apparently hastened the onset of the cataract. My vision has been poor and fluctuating for the past year. I'm also extremely near-sighted, which is a contribuing factor to the tear in the vitreous.
Avatar f tn If you know how to sew, look in the quilting section of a good fabric store for cotton curtain material and throw pillow covers. They often have good selections of vintage-style fabrics. Or google "vintage fabric prints" and buy online. If you don't sew, my only suggestion is not to use genuine vintage furniture. My cousin put her baby into an heirloom bassinette, and he fell right through the wicker bottom.
Avatar n tn I hurt mine a while back from sitting in an awkward position too long (to do quilting of all things). It took a week to settle down. It was a miserable feeling having my right side out of whack. Hopefully that's all yours is - a muscle problem. But like T-Pain said - if you have any other symptoms like blood in the urine or fever, get to your doctor.
1253246 tn?1332073310 Humph === you are so active! quilting, jet skying, fence building, peanuts and all your activities ;-). Hope the shoulder is good. You are becoming a creature of da night because your not getting up early for work (IMHO). As for the headache's? Well doc G say's ( and dats me ) get rid of the husband ;-0), weight problems? get rid of de husband, in fact that's my cure for everything;-) today. Tell honey I said sorry but hes gotta go ;-).
Avatar f tn Hope everyone is doing well. Just wondering if anyone else out there does knitting, crochet or quilting etc? I've been working on some soft blankets and hats for my January baby. Anyone else have something special in the works?
187666 tn?1331173345 I'm not even in your shoes yet I'm getting so tired of all this. I avoid doctor visits as much as possible and yet since October that's all I've done is see doctors, get one test after another, get emails and random phone calls from them. And still, my surgery isn't for another 5 weeks. I find myself walking around in a fog, with a headache every day. I force myself to stay busy, even going to the gym almost every day which isn't something I enjoy.
Avatar f tn BUMP! this is important too me ladies!
147426 tn?1317265632 At the risk of seeming (more) self-centered, I uploaded some pictures of some of my original designs in quilting, needlepoint and knitting. I didn't realize how easiy it was....I'm such a techno-tard! Hope you enjoy. BTW - Michael - what are your kids' ages? Great art! Now I have to go through and look at what everyone has posted! What a great feature!! Wingnut - it's easy. Go to your profile and "edit".
Avatar f tn I'm 22 weeks and I'm quilting a blanket its got animals on it so its unisex
620923 tn?1452915648 I finished one that is very special - in memory of my closest friend. I really love quilting - but I have my own style. I do everything by hand because I am intimidated by the machine. I would like to take a very elementary quilting class. Is there a link that you know of that lists classes and locations?
Avatar n tn Im quilting a cot set. My mil knitting blankets.
489725 tn?1280052553 Mine is a combination of music and reading. Music either Christian or classical and reading the bible. Those is what helps me relax.
Avatar f tn I am a stay at home mom of three, soon to be four. I home school two of mine so that takes up some time, but I took on hobbies. Quilting, scrapbooking, crochet, knitting, running, shooting, there are a lot if things you can do and many of them the kids can help with or tag along. We also have dogs, horses, and chickens, so we stay busy outside as well. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn All I do is sit at home ftm and clean , watch movies then nap. I don't think I'm going to start buying baby stuff til the end of May or beginning of June.
1323047 tn?1279193919 My husband is going away on a course to-day, he has to have all credit cards, money cheque book on him at all times so I do not drink. Of course he has to leave me with the above whist he is away. Can anyone think of a positive thought plan, thanks, Nicky.
Avatar f tn I need something to do instead of napping when my kids nap everyday even though im super tired I jus dont want to get in that routine! Please help me!.
Avatar n tn s an avid quilter and also is a nurse so she washes her hands a zillion times a day and ended up getting it from her hands being cracked and dry from washing and having poked her fingers quite a bit while quilting. It can happen but the odds of it happening are very low.
572651 tn?1530999357 I am still suffering bad abdominal pains since starting Gilenya 3 weeks ago. My neuro PA suggested that I switch to taking the pill every other day instead of daily for a week. It has been only 5 days now. I feel much better on the days I don't take the pill but still in pain the days I do take the pill. Doesn't seem like rocket science to me, I'm thinking these pills don't agree with my system. Just to be sure that it might be something else I made an appt. with my PCP tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Now have 5 pimple like eruptions on my right hand -- one on underside of wrist, two below knuckle of second finger, one on lower part of index finger, one on lower part of thumb. They just appeared suddenly -- do not itch, but did have a little fluid. Hurt a bit if i press on them but otherwise would not know they were there. My question -- after 25 years could i have whitlow on my hand if i never had it there before? Not near a cuticle or anything.
Avatar f tn Well after reading some of the great advise on here, i decided to go ahead and do the rest of my tapering by using 1/2 tablets, at 5-6 hour periods, instead of 1 every 12 hours, which failed Monday. I did SO much better, almost like tricking your body into quit thinking "oh how much longer can I take this!" I felt so much better, a bit of depression yesterday. And went to bed thinking I would have a good night, super proud that I am down to two pills. NOPE..crappy night of sleep..
Avatar f tn Ive been in the same boat as you except now my boyfriend just changed shifts so instead of him gone all day he sleeps most of the time before work or spends all his free time playing with his computer or out in the garage :( I thought we would get more time together but it doesn't seem that way ... And no guy should ever get married just because of a child I'm sure it's just hormones !
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any experience with surgical repair of a seroma post-surgery? I have heard of "quilting" the surgical area during surgery to prevent a seroma. Is there anyone surgically padding the seroma space as a "revision" months after surgery? Case in point: 63 yo male with lymphadenectomy 9/07 still suffering pain, swelling and weekly aspirations since then.
