5 million Americans watched Obama’s State
of the
Union address Tuesday, the lowest number
of viewers since Bill Clinton made his final State of the Union address in 2000.
This continues a downward trend in viewership for Obama’s State of the Union addresses.
In 2009, his SOTU drew 52.4 million, 48.0 million in 2010, 42.8 million in 2011 and 37.8 million in 2012.
Tuesday’s address was the second-lowest rated since Nielsen began recording viewership in 1993.
