Heart murmur from anemia

Common Questions and Answers about Heart murmur from anemia

heart

Avatar m tn Hi, It depends on the underlying pathology which is causing the heart murmur. For e.g. if the murmur is due to a damage to the heart valve, then it will remain the rest of the life if the valve is not repaired/replaced. On the other hand, heart murmurs can also occur due to a decrease in hemoglobin, what we commonly refer to as anemia and such murmurs (called as flow murmurs) commonly go away if we treat the underlying cause i.e. anemia. I sincerely hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.
Avatar n tn If I have chest pains and I have a heart murmur what could it be. I also read that they are caused by anemia is that true. Is a heart mumur something serious that I need to return to my doctor about?
Avatar m tn They may or may not be related. Either the Heart murmur if it is bad enough, or the anemia , can cause the cold hands and feet.
Avatar f tn Most murmurs can only be heard with the assistance of a stethoscope. A murmur may be heard in a normal heart, and may not necessarily caused by a structural defect in the heart itself. Murmurs may also be the result of various problems, such as narrowing or leaking of valves, or the presence of passages between chambers of the heart. Elevated blood pressure may not be related to the murmur.
Avatar n tn The morning after the procedure he had a grade 3/6 systolic murmur. That was 3-4 weeks ago. The murmur is unchanged. Is this something we should get checked out or is this a normal occurrence after a long ablation procedure. Am just concerned as this was new after the ablation.

Avatar n tn A click is an abnormal heart sound and it is sometimes heard with a mitral valve prolapse. And a flow murmur occurs if there is increased blood flow, like in anemia or hyperthyroidism, this causes a turbulence in flow and hence the murmur. This should resolve, if the primary cause is treated. Bystolic is given to treat blood pressure. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn re anxious, after excersise, fever or severe anemia. But you should also let it checked because heart murmur can be a sign of significant heart disease, but it's really less like for you since it's very uncommon for young people to have it.
Avatar f tn And at random my heart will beat faster or will slow down and will beat hard for a few beats. I do have anemia, and when I was little(1-4 years of age) the doctors said i had a heart murmur. I'm 16, 5'2" 95-103lb(my weight changes alot) I don't get stressed that often I do work out. And so I was wondering if i should be worried and is there any heart diseases that I could have.
766667 tn?1259865322 I also have a stage two to three heart murmur in the left upper chest. The heart murmur got a lot worse during the Peg-Intron tx due to my anemia. I had gray pallor at that time of treatment. The doctor seemed concerned at the time. There is a family history of CAD and high cholestrol. Does this sound like the beginning of CHF?
Avatar f tn Flow murmurs can occur with conditions like anemia, which can also cause tachycardia. If it a leaky valve murmur, there could be different clinical outcomes. If this is mild, it may not need any therapy now. As you have been investigated, discuss all the possibilities with your doctor and clear your doubts. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn I'm 25 I was diagnosed with a heart murmur when I was 3.I never had symtpoms till now I feel tierd all the time and the other day I was playing basketball and my heart started beating fast and I ran out of breath it took me a while to catch my breath again.
Avatar f tn An innocent heart murmur (grade 1 of 5) was detected in our puppy at 10 weeks old by ausculation. At 20 weeks the murmur is still there, and has progressed slightly to a grade 2 - 3 of 5. There are no other clinical signs of heart disease. We are receiving conflicting advice. First, that this is entirely congenital and will have no potentially serious impact on future health of the dog and second, that it is NOT hereditary and therefore the dog could be used in a breeding program.
Avatar f tn m a 17 y/o female diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse (with heart murmur) about a year ago. This morning my heart started to skip beats pretty frequently. It's causing light headedness, my legs feel like they will give way at times, and I dropped a bowl because I felt it in my hand suddenly and couldn't keep my grasp on it. It's been 3 hours.
Avatar n tn These murmurs do not typically cause any problems with pregnancy. Furthermore, probably due to anemia, you had a flow murmur, which may come back when you get pregnant again, however, again, it is absolutely benign in nature.
Avatar f tn The only medical imperfection I have ever had was a minor heart murmur, which my doctor said was most likely harmless. My grandfather had a heart murmur and lived to be 84. My shortness of breath seems to be persistent throughout the day, and although it is not necessarily painful, it is causing me discomfort. On a scale of one to ten, I would say my stress level equals about a five. However, I am becoming more stressed because of some difficulty breathing.
