So now I really want to focus on getting myself healthy. I have no exercise program at all for 2yeara now, I'm lazy because of the pain and drugs. Any advice on how to start? Where to get help? I think that if I start to get in shape, I will be happier with myself and will keep me from relapsing again.

From what I've always been told, you should be able to breathe well during exercise - if you can't, you're overdoing it and won't be getting enough oxygen to all your cells.

Wish it was being shown all over, looks like it's going to a fabulous 30 minute show, but does look like PBS might be spreading it over the next months to come.

Anyway, you might check out your PBS schedule for a program called "ADD and loving it". Also a website created, called "totallyadd.com". Its worth the time and all of those dang commercials. I think its the best info I have seen on the subject in a video format. Hope this helps someone.

Avatar f tn I have see the MVD show and it is so much like what I have been having for 4 years. Drs. keep acting like it is all in my head, even told that by a couple. It is getting worse and more frenquent. Don't know what to do or where to go to get help. They started out when walking or with exercise, but now are anytime, day or night, sitting, sleeping or walking to mailbox. Have had numereous tests, seen 4 heart doctors, 8 other doctors and 3 PA/NP's and no one seems to know what it might be.

I have been to the ER like 15 to 20 times with these symptoms, and an ekg looks very good, but yet the symptoms continue. Please help!!
Avatar n tn Thanks for the input. Maybe I do need to take it at a slower pace. Ultimately the idea is to be healthy not dead. I don't know about Yoga. I am geared a litttle different than that. I can not say anything negative about it because I have not tried it. I just wished I knew why my heart rate is so elevated during even the simplest periods of exercise.
Avatar f tn I've tried some herbal remedies and some sort of worked but ad-vair works the best for me. I am some day going to take Buteyko classes and maybe yoga. I'm thinking that anything that helps with how you breath is worth a try. About the atenolol, it works great for slowing your heart rate down but if you have circulation issues in your legs it will make it worse!
Avatar m tn Yes, yoga would be helpful as it relaxes the mind, and aerobic exercise helps maintain a healthy functioning heart. Control of blood pressure and no heavy lifting is what should be avoided. Exercise - particularly yoga (even it if seems girly or kinda dumb), has been particularly soothing & help for a range of my symptoms. It helps me relax, and they even have poses that help with digestion. I've also gotten involved with running. I used to dislike it, but now I absolutely love it.

I've ordered a yoga dvd as I've been told this could help lose weight but not to much that it harms the baby, tones and stretches the muscles to help with labour. Has anyone tried this before? Would you recommend it? Can you lose weight while pregnant and still have a healthy baby?

Try to think of them as simply some extra heart beats because that is all they are and you heart can handle them jumping in and interrupting the cycle. Some of the big triggers are stomach issues, caffeine, sugary foods or ones high in carbohydrates, dehydration and stress and anxiety.
