If she loves fruit and vegetables then suggest she gets them regardless if her brothers do not like them. At 3 years old she seems to wants to eat healthy, which is a good. You can show her how to eat healthy by being the role model not her brothers. If you do not have too much money, suggest buying only foods that are healthy and not 'junk' food.

Avatar f tn I'd recommend against eliminating fat from your diet. There are lots of healthy fats out there from things like fish and nuts that reduce your cardiovascular risk. These fats do have calories, but research suggests that consuming more of these healthy fats will tend to keep people fuller for longer, and ultimately promote weight loss by limiting intake of high carb treats. I remember in the early 1990's when there was a big swing in favor of eating low/no fat cookies, candies etc.

Avatar m tn Mono-saturated fats found in olive oil, nuts and avocado are healthy fats, and are a dietary staple in Mediterranean countries that have a far lower rate of heart disease than America. Even moderate amounts of saturated fats from healthy organic or natural sources are OK, although you still should avoid the trans fats so common in processed baked goods, frozen foods and margarines. Trans fats—and high fructose for that matter—have no place in the human body. Period.
Avatar f tn I will advise you to avoid sugary foods, saturated fats, and foods high in cholesterol. Use monosaturated fats like olive oil, canola oil instead of polyunsaturated fats. You may need supplements of vitamin B and E as they are good for liver.Do consult your doctor before starting any multivitamin supplements. All these will help. Take care and good luck!

Avatar m tn The role of fats in heart disease is an evolving opinion, but certainly most research hospitals suggest polyunsaturated fats are much healthier and in fact a necessary component to most people's diet. Omega 3 and 6 fish oils, for example, are prescribed universally to people with Cardiac Artery Disease, and fish oil is certainly a Poly oil.
