Avatar n tn This may be a really silly question, but what are/were your favorite meals to eat while pregnant? I'm having a difficult time planning healthy lunches and dinners that have some variety (I can only eat so much grilled chicken). This is my first pregnancy and I am only six weeks along. I'm worrying I am not eating as healthy as I should be. I'm constantly hungry and looking for some good recommendations.

Avatar f tn Any tips on cheap, healthy foods that I can add to my daily diet? I need more nutrition and calories but am on a tight budget.
Avatar f tn I understand a few conditions may occur despite what you do. However, most are not. Our society is so used to eating fast, cheap, & easy. When you shop at the grocery store, limit your picking up ANYTHING in a box. You're not eating healthy just because you cook it at home. HamburgerHelper, CompleteMeals, boxed TacoDinners or pretty much anything from a box is crap you shouldn't eat. Shop the perimeter of the store for the majority of your food. Frozen veggies are great, too.
Avatar f tn s really focused on easy healthy eating and we find a lot of the dinners are only about 2000-2500kj and really tasty.
Cat If you have access to a freezer and microwave at work, you can buy some low calorie frozen dinners to take with you. These would depend on your individual tastes. You can get whole grain bread (or wraps) and keep sandwich fixings on hand, such as deli-sliced turkey or chicken and pack sandwich ingredients separately, then make your sandwich when you are ready to eat. The same thing can be done with salads.
Avatar f tn Swelling without injusry is usually a sign of retaining fluids. How much sodium to you take in on a daily basis? Are you reading your labels? Are you cutting down on processed meats and products like frozen dinners? They are loaded with sodium. It can sneak up on you! The heartburn can come from eating too late before bed, acidic foods like tomato, also chocolate and even smoking can cause heartburn. OTC's should help with the heartburn, have your doc check it might be GERD if persistent.

Avatar f tn I have to eat a snack before bed to make sure my sugar isn't low in the mornings and it's never caused me any problems. You can alsways try it and then ask your doc about it later. Skipping meals is worse for you than going to bed with a full tummy. You can also try just eating some veggies or fruit.... something small so that you're not so hungry anymore and that won't sit heavy.
Avatar n tn As you can tell, my parents dont really support her and I want to get them healthy too. I have talked to them many times about getting her to see a nutritionist and really getting her on track. She is 16, about 5 foot (maybe an inch taller) and weighs now to my knowledge at least 170. It is so hard for her and it hurts me to see her like this. I just wish someone could offer me advice on how to help her. I think she really needs support and home as well.
7703407 tn?1396588513 Does anyone have cravings for healthy foods like veggies and fruit and juices? I know you're suppose to eat healthy when you're pregnant, but do you actually crave the good food and avoid the not so good for you good like soda and sweets because the baby doesn't like them. Just wondering if anyone is going thru this. With my other pregnancies I liked and craved the not so good for you foods and just think it's weird with this one.

Avatar m tn ve already ruled out lung problems, and said that more than likely more than one problem, but all the possible conditions had to relate to my heart in some way. (I do have a history of heart problems in my family) They've scheduled to perform some tests, (EKG's and possibly monitor my heart for a week or two to try and catch one of the episodes) but does anyone have any idea of what this could all be? Should I be more worried about this?
Avatar f tn m not a complete crazy I eat normal dinners but anything during the day I try to keep any the my snacks healthy.
Avatar n tn Eat some protein at lunch and try and give up the unhealthy dinners and substitute them for healthy dinner choices. Binge eating is also a habit. Habits can be broken. If you want a snack after dinner , no junk food , so no chips, cheesies, ice cream etc. Try having cut up fruit, much healthier. Drink lots of water. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I am 22, 8 months pregnant. Very healthy, always have been. Weight is normal, don't use caffiene, alcohol, chocolate or any stimulants. Have had tachycardia since childhood, but was told early on not to worry about it since it won't hurt me. Since being pregnant, (first time), the incidences have increased and not unusual to last for 2-3 weeks, with rates near and over 200 bpm.
Avatar f tn You don't need to diet to be healthy. If she's concerned it's probably best to change your eating habits. Buy healthier foods. I work at Burger King and I never eat there. I make most of our dinners at home and bring in lunches. It's an easy thing to switch to. Just do a little at a time.
Avatar n tn The first thing that I question is why are you eating so much fast food in the first place? You are right, it isn't good for you and if you stay on that kind of food, in the future it will cause you problems. That's in the future, not now. You are way to young to be having cholesterol build-up problems; the fact that you are a girl also helps to prevent that from happening before menopause.
