Avatar n tn This may be a really silly question, but what are/were your favorite meals to eat while pregnant? I'm having a difficult time planning healthy lunches and dinners that have some variety (I can only eat so much grilled chicken). This is my first pregnancy and I am only six weeks along. I'm worrying I am not eating as healthy as I should be. I'm constantly hungry and looking for some good recommendations.

Avatar f tn I understand a few conditions may occur despite what you do. However, most are not. Our society is so used to eating fast, cheap, & easy. When you shop at the grocery store, limit your picking up ANYTHING in a box. You're not eating healthy just because you cook it at home. HamburgerHelper, CompleteMeals, boxed TacoDinners or pretty much anything from a box is crap you shouldn't eat. Shop the perimeter of the store for the majority of your food. Frozen veggies are great, too.
Avatar m tn Suggest you eat 3 meals a day and try to eat a Heart Healthy diet which will give you the nutrients, vitamins and minerals your body needs, gain weight slowly, and help with possibly preventing disease states. Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet and a moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.

I know you're suppose to eat healthy when you're pregnant, but do you actually crave the good food and avoid the not so good for you good like soda and sweets because the baby doesn't like them. Business woman3 Don’t skip dinners (I am not saying present you are skipping dinners), instead of starving and skipping dinners you can consume small portions in your dinner. By taking small portions we are preventing weight gain and health isuues.

I can eat healthy all day long, then at the end of the day cave completely. I can't let myself ignore my hunger breastfeeding or my supply will completely diminish. I've been eating a good breakfast, good lunch, a snack between lunch and dinner, and then dinner, and a snack later on. I'm having SUCH a hard time eating healthily.
Avatar f tn I have to eat a snack before bed to make sure my sugar isn't low in the mornings and it's never caused me any problems. You can alsways try it and then ask your doc about it later. Skipping meals is worse for you than going to bed with a full tummy. You can also try just eating some veggies or fruit.... something small so that you're not so hungry anymore and that won't sit heavy.

I have been to the ER like 15 to 20 times with these symptoms, and an ekg looks very good, but yet the symptoms continue. Please help!!

Avatar f tn You don't need to diet to be healthy. If she's concerned it's probably best to change your eating habits. Buy healthier foods. I work at Burger King and I never eat there. I make most of our dinners at home and bring in lunches. It's an easy thing to switch to. Just do a little at a time.

1085628 tn?1326551885 Make a couple bigger meals in the beginning of the week and prepackage some lunches for the rest of the week. Take a thermos with soup or chili or something. Don't buy a ton of frozen dinners or anything like that....they are full of salt and sugars...you'll balloon with weight and water weight! Make sure you make lunch the night before so it's just grab and go for the morning.

The name of the site is www.mayoclinic.com. Key in heart healthy and they have recipes for deserts too:) I have not tryed it let but i think I am going to try the coffee drink.

I believe anything wider than half is considered a serious danger sign. My resting heart rate is 74bpm. I have tested this regularly over a period of weeks. My blood pressure is 130/90. So do these figures put me in a real danger zone?

Avatar n tn The dr basically meant more fresh foods, salads homemade dinners. A well ballanced diet, not fast food and chips. You don't need anymore calories yet but...switching out a donut fore real fast with a bagel and cream cheese or yogurt and granola type of thing. Or having a salad for lunch vs chips and soda. And grabbing fruit as a snack vs junk food. Those type of healthy choices is all the dr meant. You don't have to stop eating all junk food just limit it.
