Avatar n tn I changed cardiologist and recently had an ablation and 3-D mapping. During the ablation the cardiologist had a hard time controling my heart rate and blood pressure. I now take a beta blocker daily and still have SVTs even on a cardiac diet. I ended up having every type of SVT except Wolf H Syndrome. My cardiologist was scared he would have to put a pacemaker in at the time and wants to go back in for another ablation 3-d mapping in 3 mths. My questions are: 1.

Avatar n tn If you are obese and sedentary, multiply only by 10. If you are extremely active boost the number and multiply by 15. If you experience unwanted weight loss, add 250 to 500 calories a day. It may take some trial and error to find the right number of calories to add while staying lean; the body only builds about one-half pound of muscle per week. Boost your intake of protein and healthy fats such as omega 3s and 6s and cut out “empty calorie” foods like sugary sodas and fast or processed food.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 13 years old,& she just started complaining of her heart beating very fast at times when she's sitting,&laying in the bed going to sleep. She says she loses her breath easily during normal activities, especially when walking&running in P.E. class at school. Also, should I be concerned with her participating in gym until I have this checked out?Thank you so much for your time!
Avatar f tn Before the treatment was given, your Mother should have received heart tests to establish her heart condition. During treatment they should have been monitoring her heart to make sure too much damage was not occurring. This is important especially with the treatment of breast cancer because the location is very close to the heart. However, newer medications seem to produce heart damage but often reverses, such as the drug trastuzumab.
10538711 tn?1443571442 If you are an active man multiply your weight by 15 but if you are inactive multiply by 13. If you are an active women multiply your weight by 12 but if you are inactive multiply by 10. Subtract 500 or 1,000 from your calories needed to maintain current weight. Lose 1 to 2 lbs. per week by reducing your calorie intake by 500 to 1,000 per day. For example, if you require 2,000 calories per day but want to lose 1 lb. per week you must limit your daily calorie intake to 1,500.

2020005 tn?1628125976 I have a doppler from home, and I can find the baby's H/B no problem, but it seems like it's fluctuating. My OB taught me to count how many beats are in 6 seconds, then multiply it by 10, and that will give you an estimate heart rate. The first 5-6 times I listened it was always 160's, the past few times it's been slower, like 130's, 140's, then when I find it, it seems to speed up to 150's-160's again, is that normal? Maybe the baby sleeping then becoming active?
Avatar f tn Your resting HR should be taken First thing in the morning before you get out of bed! have a clock with a second hand and check your resting heart rate for 15 seconds then multiply by 4.
Avatar n tn s system is different, therefore, it probably takes longer in sme than others. I went to a google site, and here is what I found out: The amount of time it takes for the amount of drug in the body to reduce by 50% is called the half-life. It takes approximately five to six half lives for the drug to be cleared from the body. The half-life for fentanyl patches is 9.5 to 12.4 hours. Multiply that by 6 and it could take up to 74.4 hours to clear the drug. You can do the math.
Avatar m tn Hello, For jock itch, wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.
Avatar f tn That's really high for a resting heart rate but maybe you were stressed. Can you take your heart rate right now and see what it is? Find your pulse on your neck with your fingertips, and count beats for 10 seconds. Then multiply that number times 6 and you'll get your heart rate.
Avatar m tn That is a medium viral load of 1,270,000 iu/ml. See http://janis7hepc.com/Viral_Loads.htm#Viral%20load%20chart for further explanation. It's a great site to learn about HCV. The following is copied from there: Exponential format: Large numbers are often expressed in exponential form, that means a number, multiplied by 10 with an exponent. To convert this to normal numbers, append as many zeroes to a "1" as the exponent says, and multiply this with the number.
Avatar n tn I am fairly certain (meaning I have used my logic, judgment of articles and pictures, and the feeling in my heart to determine) that I don't have herpes. They seem to be going away, but I am still going to my doctor's appointment at the end of the week. Have either of you gotten positive STD test results?? I plan on getting tested Please help if you've experienced this and know what the deal is!! Thanks!
Avatar n tn The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and do not share other people’s towels. Treatment for both is entirely different. I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and get this rash assessed so that specific treatment(antifungals or corticosteroids) can be started. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn Depending on the person, what medications they are taking, their diet, and family history will predict the future. The main thing is that the heart muscle stays healthy and healthy eating habits can help.
4896357 tn?1360670904 They make me feel better and I have no side effects. Die viruses, die! You cannot multiply anymore. Get out of me! lol. What a cake walk after enduring 26 weeks of interferon shots. I've heard that the interferon gets really rough at about week 35. Evil stuff. Thank you Gilead, even if you did do it for the money! We're all gonna get cured. Yay. Sorry, just sharing my enthusiasm. :). Can't think of any jokes suitable for this site......
