Avatar m tn I am a 48 year old white male, and I have already had a total of 5 heart attacks (all within the last 5 tears). At first my doctoer thought it was due to my low HDL, as it has been lower that 28 for the last 5 years. But after my last attack, about 3 months ago, the doctors are now thinking that my body is trying to reject the 3 stents the have pkaced in me. This last attack was pretty serious, and we are planning to have a defibri;ator implanted later this month.

Avatar n tn i think I remember hearing on the news recently that women who suffer from anxiety/panic attacks are more likely to have heart attacks or suffer from heart problems. When I heard this I too got pretty freaked because I get attacks and I thought oh no now I have to worry about heart attacks. But the news does go way overboard!!!
Avatar n tn I used to be a newsreader on radio until I left several years ago after experiencing panic attacks on air. I just lost my nerve. I would hyperventilate and cut the news short. It happened over a 2 to 3 month period. I know a lot of things conspired to produce this response - bad diet (caffeine nicotine, sugar excesses), lack of exercise, lack of confidence, encountering too many fight or flight response situations etc.My question relates to wanting to go back into radio.
Avatar m tn One of my friends has currently been having some puzzling heart problems. She would be sitting in class, and all of a sudden her hear would race. She would immediately report to the infirmary, where the nurse would take her heart beat into record. I think the highest it ever was was pushing 120, almost into 130. It wasn't like she was doing anything physically strenuous. The only other symptom was a slight tingly sensation in her face, no specific part just all over.
Avatar n tn Tingling in arms and legs, tingling in parts of head and face, dizzy, ring in ears, feeling cold and shaking, blurred vision with floaters, pounding heart and shallow breathing, followed by extreme fatigue and headache. More than not, they came right before my period. Lasting for 4-6 hours. Very scary! Had mri with contrast ct scan, tests on heart, mri on spin and neck, eeg, ekg... you name it I had it! All came back fine.
