Avatar n tn It is a sign of a warning. Being overweight you have much higher standing risk factors. You should lose weight to decrease the risk for heart disease. Use a body mass indicator. Best luck to you! http://www.nhlbisupport.
908392 tn?1316522899 this is a great thread on the forum here. I also love music, play a little piano still, recently had stent put in after recent heart attacky, and am wondering where i can share my lyrics i wrote about "My Stented Heart" -- it;s just some words like a poem i put together with humor about surviving a heart attack, i am not a pro musiicna and there won't be a real song from this, but if anyone is interested, i would be happy to share a link to my lyrics of the song.

Avatar f tn The two hospitalists I saw and the Cardiologist at the hospital all took down different histories from me (I told them all the same thing) and all gave different suggestions of how to handle this. All of them insisted it was not a Heart attack but was a Troponin Elevation, UGH! One believed I skipped Blood pressure meds, I did NOT. One believed I had an esophageal Spasm? Really? I do have a PCP and am having a follow up TSH done that will be 6 weeks from having started Synthroid again.
Avatar n tn My mother died at age 66 of a massive heart attack. Is it possible that this episode is a symptom of heart disease or a pre curser to a heart attack? I should also mention that during rest I felt fine. When I was up moving around or moving my left arm is when I felt the pain. Also during the beginning of the attack it was very hard to take a deep breath. This would make the pain worse. If this was a heart attack or a symptom of one what steps should I take now that I am feeling ok?
1382941 tn?1279310727 I was admitted into ER just based on shortness of breath, dry cough at night when inclined (lung edema) and a heart rate of 115. I was totally shocked to heart I had had a heart attack...thought I had a respiratory problem. I have a totally blocked LAD (has developed other vessels to feed the deficit area) and a stent was implanted in the RCA.
Avatar n tn I had a heart attack 3 years ago and underwent PTCA stenting in right coronary artery. About a year later, I started having PVCs which went up to about 9000 every 24 Hours, though LVEF was 65%. A Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Stress Test with TC 99m, did not show exercise induced ischemia, except for a fixed perfusion defect caused by the earlier heart attack. Probably, after long therapy with Sotalol, my PVCs now stand at 55 every 24 Hours.
Avatar n tn is it normal for a patient's incision from heart surgery to be itcy, iritated, and/or burn? if so, for how long?

716924 tn?1235869479 All this started with a close death in the family. He was 49 years. The cause was a heart attack. All this started roughly about that time. So I am sure Anxiety/Panic has something to do with it. Well thats about the sum of it. Just want to match up with others.
Avatar m tn Post heart attack my heart function (EF) is just 31%. Still I am leading an almost normal life with life supporting drugs.
Avatar f tn I went into preterm labor at 27weeks and I am 41 weeks today so it really depends on when the baby wants to come! Good luck to your sister on the rest of her pregnancy!
Avatar m tn Chest pain is not something to let go, especially if it radiates. You should go see a doctor and get checked out. The level of pain is not always a true indicator of a problem. There are people who experience no pain and have suffered a heart attack (called a silent heart attack). It's worth the piece of mind to get yourself checked out.
1925822 tn?1333705617 listened to this song and bursted into tears...and thought of my chiari family!!!! Its Anastacia with "Heavy on my heart" Here some lyrics and a link I am not sure you are able to open in the US: http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar n tn I'm a woman of 41. My maternal grandfather died at 67 of his fourth heart attack and my mother at 65 had a surgery 1,5 years ago in which she had 3 bypasses installed. She feels well now, but remembering how hard the operation and rehabilitation was for her I hope I won't have to go through it or die of a heart attack as early as sixty-something. My ECG results have never showed anything more serious than heart beating too fast.
Avatar n tn My wife was only 41 when se had her heart attack. The dr says her symptoms were atypical BUT when you start listing them - as they had been happening over the course of a few months (jaw pain, dull ache in chest - they were all adding up and were pretty typical. Unfortunately heart disease does not discriminate by age! She has been through tons since then and will be okay but it's stressful to think about and live with.
