959034 tn?1253675076 One rule of thumb is to shop around the outer aisles of the store - that's where you'll find the produce, meats, dairy and other healthy stuff........... Avatar f tn Butter and lard are generally not considered healthy for us. :>) Most dieticians recommend limiting this either completely or significantly.
Avatar f tn Seems to me that you have combination skin. I work with Artistry skin care and cosmetics. Key items to use: Acne - system or a balancing 3 step system. A Pore cleansing mask or the pimple remover heat treatment by Fine lines- eye cream (age defying) Makeup - moisturize with a moisturizer that's based on your skin type. Skin needs to be hydrated before you put on makeup, it will give you a natural glow. I can email you a few ideas, tips and tricks if interested!

Avatar n tn You want to avoid prepared and processed foods, and, as Rocker said, foods with ingredients you can't get at home. The advice to shop only around the edges of the grocery store is good. I would also try to get organic food if you can afford it. Supplements cannot replace fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables supply fiber, water, and many micronutrients. Just try to find fruits and vegetables you enjoy.
547836 tn?1302836432 What happens if you limit yourself to say, one junk-food splurge per every five or six well-thought-through, healthy meals? It’s not a perfect solution, but it only has to get you through treatment. I just read your latest journal entry, “I miss being me”. It sounds as though treatment is getting rough for you right now. Just try to get through treatment; I’ve talked with folks that lived on fudgesicles and pizza, and went on to achieve SVR.
Avatar f tn That is the only kind of soap i can use also but i use skin so soft avon lotin n it works for me real good.
Avatar f tn We’ll set the record straight on some of the “facts” and “fictions” about cholesterol and eating for a healthy heart. 1. Cholesterol is bad for your body. FICTION. Our bodies need cholesterol to help build cells, hormones and bile acids. It also helps our nerves work properly. The liver makes all the cholesterol we need. The problem comes in when we get too much cholesterol from saturated or trans fats and cholesterol in food.
1510461 tn?1290080520 Hello & welcome.......This sounds like an allergy, but to what is harder to figure out..... If it were just her neck, I'd say a flea allergy. However, since neck is involved, it's something she is sticking her head in.... Plastic water bowls & food dishes will cause this.....So can an allergy from something she's sniffing outside....Food can also be a culprit....
Avatar m tn also, there is a tool for skin tag at the drug store that apparently freezes or burns the skin tag at the base and shortly after the skin tag goes away. is there any harm in giving this tool a try or would it be dangerous due to the fact im not positive what these growths are. thanks for your time.
1608004 tn?1390774590 Hi Nance, Your little girl is adorable. We need to find an answer to the dandruff problem so she look her best healthy self. Could just be dry skin from inside air without humidity , could be an allergy to cleaning products or other environmental factors, could also be a parasitic infestation. There is such a thing as "walking dandruff" it walks because it is caused by a large reddish mite. This mite will cause mild itching with a tremendous amount of dry skin.
535822 tn?1443980380 The coconut oil at the discount supplement store that is used to cook with is the same one you would use for skin and hair applications. If you only use it on your skin, get the smallest jar and it will cost you the least. Get extra virgin. The extra virgin is healthier and doesn't cost much more than the other stuff. Remember, your skin is your largest organ, so applying what you can eat makes more sense. Your skin absorbs everything, so you want the healthiest.
Avatar n tn Dr Rockoff, most of my life I suffered with red itchy skin and scalp, red "dry skin", "weeping" redness behind my ears and hairline, itchy and watery eyes, and what seemed to be non-stop sinus infections. As my problems increased over the years, I became depressed and housebound. I avoided going outdoors, embarassed by the way my skin looked and made me behave.
203342 tn?1328740807 He will eat cucumbers if I take the skin off, and apples, bananas, melons, but that's about it in the fruit and veggie department! I need help getting him to eat more healthy, fiber rich foods. Maybe something where I can sneak the good stuff in? Lol, I'm just getting desperate. I've tried different things but I'm not much of a cook and don't have a big imagination, I guess. I could sure use some ideas of healthy, fiber rich, kid friendly recipes! Can anyone help? Thanks everyone!
Avatar f tn I desperately need HELP! I have a horrible skin condition. My skin is sticky all over and there is a waxy sort of film. My hands and feet are the worst. It feels like soda or honey is coating my hands and feet, with a lighter feeling on the rest of my body. My socks stick to the bottoms of my feet. It is worse after showering, washing hands etc. I use a green kitchen scrubber on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet but it doesn't get the film off.
Avatar f tn Do look into dog vitamins at your local pet store. Some can be pretty expensive, but my vet tells me that you can generally get by with about half the dosage stated on the bottle. You also might try asking Dr. Cheng on the Ask a Vet forum here at Med Help. She volunteers her time so participation on the board is free.
1547525 tn?1293754371 As far as skin creams go, the Nivea is pretty good, but I use the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle cream and I think he helps cover at least some of those ugly smoking lines. Hope it helps you too!
Avatar f tn Please help me. I cannot deal with the crawling skin feeling. I have six pills left. I don't want to take them anymore but cannot deal with this feeling. I have zero longer so I can't even buy epsom salt or apples-the things I hear that help with this feeling. Someone should put together wwithdrawal baskets or care packages! I need help with this crawlinf sensation or I won't quit.
Avatar f tn I give my pets this oil and their coat and skin is soft, shiny, and healthy. Please take time to read about natural health care. I can guarantee that your dog’s condition will improve if you give them a healthy diet and do not administer conventional drugs.
Avatar n tn Lately I have noticed how my skin changes color. I know that prolly sounds crazy, except my employees noticed it the other day. One employee looked at me and said "deb, your face looks yellow, go sit down, I will finish up here" Now the yellow went away, but lately I have been getting lots of remarks about my skin tone. It seems to be like a pendulum, even hubby said to me yesterday, "at least your skin is starting to look like its normal color again".
Avatar n tn response, just somewhat improved), but they are also still unequal. His skin becomes more and more greyish during the evening, and he now frequently has dark smudges under the inner corner of his eyes, with or without the periorbital edema. He also admits that he is feeling more and more tired than usual. This boy is a medical mystery, is he not? Thanks again for getting back to me; I knew you would. You have been so very kind and considerate, and interested.
145992 tn?1341348674 Anyway, now my stomach is disgusting. I have loose, sagging skin and it's really depressing. I had stretch marks on the front, not horrible, but it makes the skin loose. Plus, I have hanging on the bottom. I don't know how to get rid of this other than have a tummy tuck, which I'm not doing because I plan on having another baby in the future so what would be the point. It's also something I can't afford anyway but I can dream can't I?
Avatar n tn Hi For several months I have been getting this weird sensation that my skin is crawling. This happens just behind my right shoulder blade in exactly the same place every time. It generally happens for no reason that I can fathom. It is a sort of itching sensation and then a sensation that there is something crawling under my skin. When I rub it with my fingers it disappears for a while but inevitably it returns within a few minutes. There is no pain involved.
Avatar f tn My body is evidently crawling with parasites, and I'm praying (I'm not a praying person, but I am literally praying now) that this is actually treatable and I might get my life, my health, and even some normalcy of my skin back. If you think you may have bartonella based on scars/rashes, and your dermatologist just says it's stretch marks, find a Lyme specialist and get a consultation.
Avatar m tn My husband age 59 has been experiencing burning, prickly itchy skin at random times but mostly during the evening. He has the sensation of pins and needles pricking his skin from the inside out. This mostly occurs on his arms or legs or back, but not concurrently. First it was his legs then it moved to his back and currently the problem is on his arms. The sensation will be symetrical, i.e. both arms. The prickling turns into severe itching with sensations of pin pricking pain.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if it's just because my skin is really dry or the change from one extreme climate to the next- I was in Maui for a week where it was obviously very warm and then I got home to the midwest where it was freezing. Right when I got home from the trip is when this problem started to happen. I do have a doctor's appointment in a week but it's been so frustrating I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions- Thanks!!
Avatar n tn It sounds like you only breakout when the weather starts getting warmer. Most skin irritations and breakouts are yeast related. Yeast loves the heat and loves moisture. When a breakout occurs, it is your body trying to tell you that you have an imbalance. If our bodies never warned us about these things, we would never be able to resolve them.
